Work Text:

“So, Old Heather. Who are you voting for?” asked Jo with a smug smirk.

“Alejandro. He’s the biggest threat,” lied Heather. As much as she wanted Alejandro off the island, eliminating Jo was her biggest concern. With Jo around, she couldn’t properly lead the team because Jo has to argue about everything.

“Maybe you should reconsider, Lightning made it to the finale last time and could easily beat you in a physical challenge,” pointed out Jo.

“Good point... Fine, Lightning goes, then we vote Alejandro. Deal?” said Heather. She was planning on backstabbing Jo the first chance she got, but she didn’t want Jo to know that.

“Deal,” said Jo as she walked away.

** CONFESSIONAL **

As if Diet Eva actually expects me to vote for the only competitor to Lindsay for a lack of brainpower.

** CONFESSIONAL END**

Since Lightning costed us the challenge with his bad counting, Heather had to go pack her stuff and move it from the luxurious spa hotel to the crummy shack. The spa hotel makes sleeping in Wawanakwa tolerable, but anything is better than the cement slabs marketed as mattresses that Chris provides in the loser cabin.

Last night, Heather explored the hotel a little. She found a gym, a sauna, and in the depths of the basement, an arts and crafts room. When the formerly bald girl searched though the supplies, she found loads of glitter: fine, chunky, glitter glue and glitter pens, Heather found the motherload of sparkles.

Heather didn’t anticipate having to leave the hotel so soon. But while the other campers are packing might be the only time to steal the glitter for herself before Zoey or some other dweeb uses it all up. After getting scammed out of a million dollars, stealing from the arts and crafts room is perfectly justified. She decided that the best way to sneak and transport the glitter was by an empty suitcase, so Heather grabbed her largest one and started to sneak though the mansion. Duncan and Alejandro were in the dining room, enjoying their last moments of air conditioning and edible food, so she snuck by quite easily. As she approached the arts and crafts room, she opened the door as silently as possible to avoid being caught.

When the door was opened enough for her to get in, she slipped inside and quickly closed it, slowing down only milliseconds before it would have slammed.

“Suitcase stealer! What are you doing here?” asked a voice from inside. Heather looked back only to see Lightning sitting at a table.

“What am I doing here? What are you doing here‽” shot back Heather.

Lightning lifted a punching bag and showed it off to Heather. It had a stitched-on nose, a blue jersey, and some googly eyes. The training bag had an uncanny resemblance to Lightning.

“Last season, Lightning made a punching bag of Bubble Boy, but it was so sha-cool that Lightning wants one of myself!” beamed Lightning.

“Why would you make something to punch with your face on it!”

“Hmm… Good point. Lightning can’t punch such a handsome bag,” said Lightning as he flexed his biceps.

Lightning put his mental equal onto the table and added some finishing touches, giving Heather the perfect opportunity to smuggle some glitter. She opened the drawers of glitter and emptied their contents into the suitcase, praying that Lightning would stay distracted.

“What are you doing?” asked Lightning. Of course, he noticed. Staying focused on one thing for more than a minute would be too mentally challenging for him.

“Mind your own business,” snarled Heather, as she accidentally dropped a few tubes of glitter glue that rolled onto the floor for the jock to see. Perfect. Now it’s just time to wait for him to say something stupid about me stealing sparkly glue.

“Do you think Lightning would look good in sparkles?”

At first, she was surprised by the question. Heather pictured in her head Lightning wearing a sparkly outfit, and chuckled. She never understood how Lightning could say the stupidest things with such confidence. Suddenly, an idea popped into Heather’s head.

“No, sparkles only look in good on popular people,” taunted Heather. As much as she would like to come up with a better insult, she wasn’t sure if Lightning had the mental capacity to understand a more complicated one, considering he can’t count to seven.

“Sha-what! Lightning is the most popular guy in school!”

“Well, there’s only one way to find out. We’ll have to make you a glittery outfit.”

Lightning being covered in sparkles would look hilarious, especially on international television. After all, he did cost the challenge, and his ego was too big for Heathers liking.

While Lightning got a spare change of clothes that he never uses because he wears his jersey and shorts every day, I searched for other shimmering objects. I found some flashy pipe cleaners and sequins. After all, she didn’t want to waste all her well-earned glitter.

The two villains came decided on the design of the outfit, then started to work, gluing the shiny objects onto Lightning’s spare clothes. Heather worked in the shirt, and Lightning decorated the pants. Lightning talked about his sports accomplishments, but with Lightning you can never tell if he’s exaggerating or not. Heather complained about some of the contestants, while Lightning agreed that their team was useless.

After a couple of hours, the outfit was finished. It was navy blue with gold accents, the focus being a giant lightning bolt in the front. Lightning designed the pants all by himself, and it turned out surprisingly well. It was like Lightning had some sort of talent that wasn’t sport related. She would never tell that to him though.

The jock changed into his new outfit, and he looked ridonculous, but with his overconfidence, he somewhat pulled the look off.

“Lightning looks good! I’m a superhero! I’ll be… Lightning Bolt! No… Poseidon’s Lightning! Or how about, Lightning Strike!” said Lightning as he showed off his sparkly outfit. Was it a total waste of time? Yes. Is it horrible an obnoxious? Also, yes. But it beats spending a bunch of time with the rest of the villains, and she had to admit it was a little fun.

“CAMPERS! MEET ME AT THE CAMPFIRE IN 30 MINUTES FOR THE ELIMINATION CEREMONY” yelled Chris over the intercoms.

“You should change into your normal clothes for the ceremony,” said Heather.

               “Sure, so, who we voting?”

               “Jo.”

“Nuh-uh, we’re in an alliance until the merge. Don’t worry, Lightning won’t vote for you or your boyfriend tonight.”

“He is not my boyfriend. Plus, Jo will betray you the first chance she gets,”

“Yeah… hey, next time we win, maybe we can make you a sparkly outfit?” said Lightning.

“No promises,” smiled Heather, as she exited the room and walked to the elimination ceremony.

Notes:

This is a weird concept, and the characters are a little OOC if I’m being honest, but I had a blast writing this silly idea. I’m new to writing and this is my first TD work, so criticism is encouraged.
