Spongebob and Squidward are sitting together with a brick wall in between them, watching the sunset on a hill. Squidward with tears welling up in his eyes as he's waiting to hear the explosion that will end Spongebob's life....
It was all his fault, if only he had been less careless about giving Spongebob a gift then maybe he wouldn't-----
Boom
It goes off and Squidward is filled with despair.
A long pause
Another explosion sound
Squidward is puzzled and stunned
It turns out to be one of Spongebob's talented bubble-blowing skills.
"What's wrong, buddy?" Spongebob asks.
"I thought you were," Squidward wipes the tears from his eyes. He gets up and shakes Spongebob. "What??!!! You were supposed to explode!"
"Why would I do that?"
"Because of the pie I left on the table!" Squidward is still fighting back tears.
"This pie?" Spongebob pulls a pie out from his pocket that stuns Squidward to the bone.
Squidward immediately takes the pie and throws it down the hill. Once Spongebob sees the pie explode when it hits the bottom, he realizes that Squidward saved him.
"Why do you think I spent all day with you?" Squidward asks shyly.
"Because it was the part two of my gift from you?"
"Because I wanted you to live your last day with happiness"
"Oh Squiddy, thank you, but you didn't have to do that" Spongebob holds Squid's hand and presses it into his tightly.
"I noticed you always seemed to have protected me when I needed to be.. No other friend has done that for me" Spongebob recalls all the times Squid has pulled him out of harm's way.
"Sponge, I have to, living without you," Squid is flustered from saying this and turns away quickly, trying not to make eye contact while saying this. "I can't be in this world without you, ever since Squilliam and I broke up, you were there to support me. I wanted to be your support. Sponge" Squidward looks back at Spongebob finally after telling him this.
Spongebob looks at Squidward in disbelief. "And here I thought, we were just friends" Spongebob places his hand on Squiddy's smooth back.
Squidward blushes hard hoping everything he ever wanted was coming true.
"Did I ever tell you I love this shirt on you?" Spongebob says while caressing Squidward's shirt.
They enter a warm and loving embrace.
Sponge and Squiddy get what they both have been waiting ages for.
