What if?

Summary:

I chose to write this to tear at ya'lls hearts. But I patch it back together in the end. Very short, one shot (maybe?)

Chapter Text

“Y/N?”

“Y/N!?”

“Hey Y/N!!!”

What was heard was only that but a blur; y/n was unable to recognize who or where they were, nor being able to distinguish what had happened beforehand. All that could be identified was that of intense throbbing within their head.

After what felt like hours, Y/N was finally able to move and breathe; once getting up to assess the situation, Y/N could see rubble for miles away, not forgetting the intense throbbing from their head, the itchy, warm feeling of blood began to pour down their face.

Rising from their current location, Y/N began to look around, almost frantically noticing the castle windows were damaged and some being demolished. Looking further, being right near the castle's front doors, the bridge to the Tower of Worship looked hardly intact; that would be too positive to mention the state of the Tower itself.

Run

Run

Run

All Y/N could think about was Alcina at that moment. Was she okay? Was she able to evade Ethan Winters? How did this even happen?

Running, speed limping into the tower, dust was flying along with the snow falling steadily. Looking around was eerie, and I saw nothing but crumbled stone, dust, and snow. Looking further, a hilt of silver shone through the dusky light.

Y/N continued to investigate further, slowly approaching the brightly shining silver. Carefully, Y/N leaned down to pick up the unidentified object. Upon closer inspection, Y/N found the dagger that had to have been used as it had dried blood on the blade.

“No, this can’t be… I’m still dreaming… yes… I’m just dreaming… right?”

Dropping the blade, hearing the loud clang was the only sound to be heard for miles; everything was so lonely. “Where is everyone?”

Looking off to the side, Y/N saw what looked like a large mass; Y/N proceeded forward toward said mass. Y/N leaned down, moving little by little of the mass, seeing their Alcina.

Although some parts crystallized, Alcina had been encased under the mass, skin ice cold. Y/N fell to their knees, beginning to gasp for anything while looking for any signs of life. Y/N lifted Alcina’s head onto their lap, tears streaming down their face, slowly falling onto that of Alcinas.

“How could this have happened? Why was I unable to help? I could have prevented this!”

Y/N began to tear away at the mass for Alcina to become fully released from its claws; afterward, they removed the fabric from their being to cover Alcina further. Frantic, Y/N picks Alcina up and runs into the castle. Wounds be damned.

Y/N had run until they were near the central castle's heart, able to sit Alcina on the couch and near the fire. Y/N noticed the movements made by bringing Alcina into the castle; the crystals had begun to form faster and faster, almost as quickly as her heart was breaking.

Y/N was able to find the closest sharpest object they could and immediately took it to their wrist. Moving towards Alcina, they placed the wound near her lips, hoping anything, even the smallest of movements, would happen to her.

Y/N began to silently sob as there was still nothing, patiently impatiently waiting. After ensuring some blood had made it into her mouth, Y/N wrapped up their wound and waited.

Tik.

Tok.

Tik.

Tok.

Hours felt like they were going by. Shifting from the sitting position on the marble floor, gazing at Alcina, there is still no change. Still waiting. Waiting waiting. All of this for a child who wasn’t even here.

Leaning over on the couch, Y/N slowly drifted into unconsciousness, either from extreme exhaustion, sickness, or blood loss; they needed their rest.

However, little did Y/N know that, above on the couch, Alcina had slowly opened her golden eyes.
