"The Tri-State FanCon!" Milo announced, standing dramatically in the entry way.
Neal guided Sara forward past Milo while she focused intently on re-gluing the spikes of the headband of her cosplay.
"Let's get moving. We're here a bit late if we want to make it to the Dr. Zone panel."
To be clear, they had two hours. Only two.
"Hey! Milo!" a voice called out to them while they dodged large spills and arguments and collapsing floors.
Milo turned towards the voice, "Oh, it's Kevin!"
"Who?" Neal asked.
"Oh, that guy. The guy we randomly found in space," Zack said.
"You found a guy in space? How did he get there?" Neal said.
"Never said," Melissa said.
"I didn't expect to see you here?"
"Whose this?" a lavender hair girl asked.
"Uh this is Milo and his friends, Melissa, Zack, and..."
"I'm Sara, Milo's sister," Sara introduced herself, "and this is my boyfriend Neal. MIlo mentioned you."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Kevin... which you already knew... this is my little sister Gretel, my cousin Fred, Anthony and.... HIromi!"
"and Hamster!" Gretel added.
"and Hamster." Kevin repeated.
The two groups made various noises of greeting.
"Nice to meet you all!" Hiromi said, "How'd you guys know each other?"
"We met.... at.... a gas station."
"We sure did!" Milo agreed.
"Really, that's a weird place to make friends," Hiromi asked.
"Not the weirdest way we've made friends," Zack muttered to Melissa who snorted in amusement.
"We were both waiting for a ride," Milo explained, "so we got to talking,"
"Huh?" Hiromi said, "I guess you can make friends anywhere, Love your cosplays, very cute!"
"Thanks, I like yours too!" Sara returned.
"So where are you headed?" Kevin asked.
"Dr. Zone!" Sara, Milo and Neal said in unison.
"Oh we're headed in that direction too!" Kevin said.
"Larry the Magic Boy!" Gretel and Bailey cheered.
"More the merrier!" Milo said.
"So you guys are big Dr. Zone fans," Anthony asked.
"Don't even get them started," Zack said.
"It's only my favorite show ever! Exclamation point!"
"Actually I helped inspire it!" Milo said.
"...didn't the show come out in the 60s"
"Funny story..." Milo said.
Suddenly a bunch of rubber balls rolled across their path, and Zack tripped, but before he could fall flat on his face Melissa caught him, and pulled him close to her.
"Uh... thanks..." Zack said.
They stared at each other inches from each others face for what was probably longer than necessary.
"Are you sure you're not together," Baljeet said, he and Buford appearing out of nowhere.
Melissa and Zack turned to face them.
"Well..."
"You guys were not subtle," Buford added.
"I didn't come here to get grilled by a bunch of elementary schoolers," Zack said, "just HOW did you? I just"
"Mind your own business," Melissa snapped.
Behind them Milo gave Buford and Baljeet a double thumbs up.
Melissa whipped her head around, "MILO!"
"Sorry about that!" Phineas apologized, "We overtightened something,"
"Weren't expecting me?" Milo asked.
"Can't say we were." Phineas asked. "Have you been having a good time?"
"You know it's been pretty chill so far," Zack commented.
"You know what's going to happen now," Melissa said.
"Yeah I heard myself,"
Irving's costume began to spark and suddenly went ablaze. Irving began to run about setting other things on fire until the whole immediate area was a fire. Isabella tackled Irving and ripped his costume off of him.
Milo pulled a fire extinguisher out of his backpack as a fire alarm went off.
"Get out of here!" Kevin told Gretel and Bailey, who nodded knowing full well the real reason he was telling them to leave."
The sprinklers seemed to not be working because they didn't go off. However, Phineas and Ferb put together a high pressure spray bottle and Baljeet worked with Melissa to create a flame retardant from what they had on hand.
A Ducky Momo came out of nowhere, followed by a knight carrying a small blond girl in a Ducky Momo T-shirt. The knight just stood off to the side watching the Ducky Momo. While the Ducky Momo actively began to start stomping fires out. While screaming erratically. In the process she kicked a water line which burst and targeted the worst of the flames. Milo and Sara managed to repair the pipe well enough to stop the water flow. Between the various efforts the fire was taken care of in practically no time.
"Let's get this taken care of!" (Superhero) Gretel said as she and Hamster appeared on the scene.
The fire was already out.
"Oh, hey. It's Hamster and Gretel!" Milo said, "I've heard about you!"
"Yes, citizen I am here to solve the fire.... or,"
"We already took care of it," Zack told her.
"I mean, Murphy's Law," Milo said.
"Oh, RIGHT!" Kevin said, "You're used to this kind of stuff."
"Okay but what about you guys?" Fred asked turning towards Phineas and his friends.
"What about us?" Phineas asked.
"I mean why aren't you freaked out."
"We've seen worse," Buford said, "Remember that time we had to move a planet?"
"Which time?" Baljeet asked.
"The time with the Whalemingo's duh?" Buford said, "And you didn't believe me,"
"Klimpaloon exists, but Whalemingo is where you draw the line .
"Bold words from someone who denied Klimpaloon's existance,"
"Yeah Yeah, I learned my lesson," Candace said.
"You know just because one thing exists doesn't have any bearing on whether a completely separated unrelated thing exists," Baljeet said. Ferb gave a slight nod in agreement with Baljeet.
"Anyway stop an alien invasion once or twice and a little thing like fire doesn't really seem all that concerning... although I prefer this to what happened at the LAST convention,"
"You mean when the Finkies and Spekies went to war?" Phineas asked, "At least everyone seems to be having fun, and we were able to put out the fire before too much damage happened, fortunately most of the damage was to decorations, and costumes. Nothing too valuable."
"Still too bad, but it happens," Sara said.
"Sorry though," Milo said, "I know that kind of stuff can take a lot of time,"
"We should have been more careful with that wiring,"
"You made that?" Milo asked, "That was really cool?"
"Think we can still make it to the Dr. Zone panel."
Sara shrugged, "We know where Orton Mahlson lives anyway, I'm sure we aren't missing out."
