a warm summer breeze ruffles his perfectly combed hair. it does nothing to warm the goosebumps erupting on his forearms.
he remembers, god, does he remember. of kisses shared under the falling snow, of hands held under tables where no one could see, of touches on his skin- feather light and like a tonne of bricks, all at once.
he doesn’t want to remember, because remembering leads to the memories he’s been suppressing for months- what the hell did i even mean to you?, of packed bags and heated goodbyes.
the green door is so different, yet much the same. it’s still far too stained, still far too chipped at the edges; broken, imperfect, just like their love.
his whole arm is shaking as he reaches a hand up, knocking thrice. and he’s hoping, praying, for the shorter boy to still be here, because he’s got to be here.
the door swings open and god, oh god. jeongguk’s heart is in his throat, and he chokes on pure emotion.
jeonnguk’s still as in love as ever.
the man’s eyes are the same as always- beautiful, with the entire galaxy shining in them. the eyes that looked at him for years, the eyes he looked into as he mumbled, “i love you.”
and as they lock gazes, jeongguk feels a thousand words on the tip of his tongue.
words he wants to, needs to, say. words he should of said a year ago.
but as jimin’s warm and soft lips press against his chapped ones (their lips still mold perfectly, even after all this time), he decides that words can wait until later.
they have a lifetime, after all.
