Insistent guitar strumming interrupted the softer music from Jade's phone, and she looked up from her typing while removing one of her ear buds.
Shepard's playing could be experimental or methodical depending on her mood; something simply recognizable like "A Horse With No Name" probably meant she was concentrating. Hopefully a breakthrough would happen by the fifth rather than the fiftieth repetition of the chorus.
