Chapter Text

2068 - International Rescue

2068 was a big year for the Tracy Family…

Plans were put into place to expand the scope of International Rescue’s reach and in new ways – the Hatching craft would provide extra support for long term rescues, as well as for less urgent rescues that both Thunderbird team and the GDF may have issues getting to.

Set to launch in 2071, there would be six Hatching Craft, with one craft to be based on each major continent of the world. They would not be as fast or as powerful as a Thunderbird craft, but they were capable of doing the job that they were assigned and would be manned by carefully picked teams.

Jeff had some names in mind, including the son of the third member of his Mars mission team, Scott’s friend, Paul Metcalfe…

It saw the birth of Scott and Piper’s Son, Shane Virgil Tracy, and the births of Alan and Kayo’s twin son’s, Alexander John Tracy and Aaron Gordon Tracy.

It was also the year when the Mysterons made their dangerous presence known, and the world became a darker place…

International Rescue was furious with the people that Spectrum sent to Mars to investigate the Mysterons, why the hell did these people shoot first, before they had an opportunity to actually talk to them? It was obvious that these Mysterons could communicate with human’s, there was no need for this hostility…

But Jeff Tracy was not an idiot, after the colony on Mars was rescued, he forbade anyone from International Rescue going anywhere near Mars, and since they lacked to means to take on an invisible foe, they were to remain neutral and let Spectrum clean up their mess…

They didn’t know that the Spectrum officers had been killed and reconstructed for the crime, or that they were Paul and his partner Conrad Lefkon.

All that International Rescue knew about the Mysterons was that they were hostile beings from Mars and their lead agent was a man known as Captain Black.

And the what the effects of their attacks had on the world…

Notes:

So, this is going to be a series of short stories that are going to be mostly tags to the episodes of New Captain Scarlet (some will just relate to events but no one particular episode), but from International Rescue’s perspective as witnesses to the events going on around them.

This can be seen as a bit of a prelude piece to the Captain Mahogany stories, Kallen is only a Toddler at this stage of the story.
