Work Text:
A touch from him was like a wedding kimono: something to be treasured, however brief its use.
You would have to be sated for long swathes of time with even the slightest touch from Wolf, as it was a rarity to earn the privilege of human contact with him.
He was gone for long, the time stretching between physicality even longer. You felt like, if you were given too much of it, you wouldn’t savor it the way you always did.
And yet you wanted more.
It’s normal, of course, to want more. Everyone wants more.
You grabbed his hand once on his way out. You squeezed , taking that short instance to memorize the lines of his palm, the callouses, and rough hewn skin there.
It took you a good hour to remember to wash your hands, fresh with the filth of whatever hole Wolf crawled out of that day. You couldn’t ignore the shiver that racked his spine when he glanced down at where you held tight.
How Wolf haunted the doorway a bit with his presence before he left.
What did he think of it all? You hadn’t the courage to ask him.
Your whole body received a shock when he tenderly took your hand in his and dropped one half of a wrapped ohagi into your palm.
“From Lord Kuro.” Bluntly stated, of course.
You quirked an eyebrow at him, “You did eat the other half, right?”
Wolf held up said half in silent triumph, a ghost of a smile on his face.
You smiled wholly in return, “Let’s eat, then!”
Both of you sat and enjoyed your meal in silence for a little while. Wolf was a quiet eater, but a messy one all the same. A few bits of the ground glutinous rice dotted his face and you couldn’t help but giggle at the sight.
Wolf cocked his head at you in inquiry. You mock huffed at him and took your thumb to his skin, “Here, let me–”
He went stock still, eyes wide in abject wonder and horror. You leaned slightly forward, focused on your task.
It barely occurred to you how his skin heated beneath your fingertips, a dusty color appeared with each pass of your finger. It was a moment to be enjoyed, but Wolf looked stunned beyond belief.
“There. You look a lot less messy now.”
Wolf just stared . You continued to eat like it was nothing.
You had to slap yourself later for being so familiar with him. That was beyond intimate and pushed against whatever boundaries he had. It was a bit foolish, but you couldn’t help but want to set upon the corners of his lips with yours.
Another day, he was leaving again. Another rare visit ending that set about an ache in your bones.
For the smell of him. For touch. You remembered his skin like it was a natural thing to do.
You couldn’t help it. You wanted more.
“Before you go,” You stopped him not only with your words, but by being daring enough to grab his hand once again. “, I have something for you.”
Wolf would not have expected the gentlest of kisses to the corner of his lips. It was featherlight, yet tangible.
A warmth Wolf had never known wrapped its arms around the both of you in that moment. It was so sudden. It lasted for an eternity. It was gone like a wisp of smoke on the wind.
“For… for good luck.” Of course, you could only be somewhat honest. The truth of it all was lost to him, but you reaffirmed the innocence of your intentions with a grin and releasing of his hand.
Wolf could only nod at you, hesitantly and lacking his usual assured confidence. By his leave, you waved at him.
Wolf would have asked for more if he knew how.
