Chapter Text
Beetles scurry along a decaying log, glittery moss carpeted the floor of the gentle swamp. Small insects glow purple, landing upon fungi and herbs. Crystals heavy and thick with colour hung from sagging willows that were deep green. A hand reaches out, caressing a large mushroom pulsing with light, a giggle of a little boy. His feet are bare and mud covered, euphoric with freedom he strides along the cool forest floor. Vines nestle in his blond hair and bruises pepper his dark skin.
Suddenly his name is called, a harsh voice rips through the orange haze. Figures rush hurriedly towards him ‘There you are’ ‘you know it's not safe here’ ‘his lordship won't like this’ they pull at his arms, and take him away.
