The last of the leaves give up their hold as they tumble to the group manyfold.
Days grow short as morning shows frost and our moods grow dim for what we've lost.
Yet the time is nigh for reflection as thoughts of grief are faced with our rejection.
Family gathers in love and gratitude as a bounty of good food lifts our attitude.
We laugh and reminisce about our lives giving thanks as turkeys are carved with knives.
As family, friends, and strangers see each other, celebrations and salutations are spoken together.
Toasts are raised to those gathered and missing as we celebrate the joy of loving and living on this wonderful holiday called Thanksgiving!
