Baek Mari doesn't miss Cheon Jihun .
he was simply her employer - with his stupid , permed hair , and she didn't care . she didn't notice . she would simply go back to the Baek law firm , and there's nothing wrong with that . It doesn't matter .
It doesn't matter that she left his sunglasses on her last drawer , hidden by the papers that she'd go through daily , weekly , monthly . she only checks on them one a day . the glasses don't matter . jihun doesn't matter . the framed photo that sits in her desk , reflecting itself - of her , mr sa and .. jihun , is just decoration . it doesn't hold any value to her , of course , just a reminder of the times she had been with the pair . but she can pass through it , because she's Mari . Why would she care so much about them ?
she had made sure to keep contact with mr sa . he's always been kind . he's not that great at karaoke , but she still enjoyed the times where she could hear him silently sing from her desk . she wonders how his wife is , she barely got to meet her , but she seemed similar to herself . a good woman . who was jihun's family didn't matter to her , even if the question often came to her mind . but , she ignores them . where was the ring he wore from ? why was it only 1 dollar ? he's good enough to get more . it doesn't matter . still , she'll continue feeding the fish .
she ignores that somewhere , in her empty heart , it breaks . it's in pain , and she doesn't know why , because she was supposed to hate him . why doesn't she hate him ? it's stupid . he left . he left both of them , and without a notice - other then a stupid paper , that she despises . wrinkled , it sits with the sunglasses . why did he leave ? , she'll never know . and god , god that hurts . she wanted to help him . why didn't he want her to help ? she could . she could , and she'd try her hardest . did she fail ? every question makes her heart drop further . she'll ignore everything . and she'll ignore , that when she feels tears , she'll wear those sunglasses . and she'll tear . she'll let out a silent sob , undaring to be louder - as if he'll listen and laugh . she wonders if he did this too , how much tears have been before ? though , really , she doesn't think he has emotions . he definitely doesn't . sometimes , she lets yejin talk about him , when she's too drunk - and emotional to even stop her . sometimes , otherwise , she shushes her - because the drinks haven't settled in yet . Yejin understands her , slightly . but Cheon Jihun is a strange man . Nobody will ever , really , understand him . Mari tried . She thought that , soon enough , she'd find out , just to be met with dissapointment .
everything is fine , though . she'll continue her job , and she'll make her grandfather proud . she'll forget about Jihun , and he'll never come back , and she'll grow to accept that . she'll let herself grow , and , she'll come to acceptance . She just wished he had given her the reasons .
