Work Text:

Sumeru was especially hot even during winter. The only way to save yourself from the hot was either in the water, in the building or in the shade. And so, in the shades of trees near the Sanctuary of Surasthana two people were… Hiding from the sun. Quiet noises and loud breathing would be heard if there were any other people in the area.
The Harbinger that sneaked into the Sanctuary leaned in closer to a smaller figure, taking off the large hat from his head. Ajax slipped his gloved hand into other’s silky hair, playing with them with his fingers. His lips soon locked with Wanderer’s in a soft and gentle kiss, his hot tongue running over his lips, then breaking off to land the same passionate kiss on Wanderer’s neck. He must have felt that it was lasting a tad too long as the other loudly clicked his tongue in displeasure.
“Can’t you find a more… Discreet plaсe for your hickeys?”
Despite the sweet intimate tension of the moment, his voice had the hint of spite it so often held. He stared at Ajax with half-closed eyes, long dark eyelashes shivering ever so slightly. That heavy gaze was glistening with not only irritation, but also awe. The thrill of teasing sent shivers down Ajax’s spine. Those pale blue eyes always reminded him of the colour of forget-me-nots. He did once tell Wanderer about it, but only got his beautiful laughter as a reaction. Perhaps he found it childish and silly - he often said Ajax was proving his Harbinger name. But that never stopped Ajax from associating his beautiful acquaintance with those beautiful flowers.
They were so common back in Sneznaya that every time he saw them, his heart started racing and the image of Wanderer conquered his mind completely. Not that he minded, of course. Ajax was happy thinking of him, dreaming of the next time they run into each other.
With a quiet chuckle Ajax finally let go of Wanderer’s neck, his lips accidentally made a smacking noise.
“M’Sorry sweets, I can’t help it. You’re simply irresistible… Besides, I don’t even know when I’ll see you again. I wanna have as much as I can, I’m sure you feel the same.”
Ajax knew what he was doing to get just the right reaction. He was certainly a good tease, he could tell by the sharp exhale that immediately left Wanderer’s lips. Suddenly feeling a tight strong grip on the back of his head, he was pulled back by his hair, making him slightly arch his back. Ajax always found it fascinating that someone as short and slim, svelte and even delicate as Wanderer held such great impressive strength, one that certainly overpowered hid own. And that… That only made Wanderer more attractive, more… Intriguing.
“I told you not to call me ‘sweets’ you ginger”
His voice was no louder than a whisper, yet the irritation and spite were more than noticeable. Sure, Ajax knew how much his acquiaintance (lover?) hated anything related to sweetness. He didn’t know why though - he noticed how Wanderer could stare at a dessert with such desire only to end up just having a totally way too bitter black tea. But, the knowledge of this strong dislike only made it more tempting to choose a sweet-related petname for him. Was always nice to see him even slightly worked up because of him. Made Ajax feel… Special.
“Aw but it fits you so well… Sugarcub”
Ajax smirks again seeing as his acquaintance’s face scrunched up, his lips pouting. Oh he was going in the right direction.
“What’s wrong, Sugarcub? Got your sweet lips so-“
What Ajax definitely didn’t expect was for Wanderer to shut him up. At least like this. With a mother freaking kiss. On the lips. It wasn’t the first time they kissed, obviously. But for Wanderer to initiate the kiss? That was knew. His lips were cold and slightly chapped, probably from his habit of biting them while thinking. Ajax saw it often enough - his acquaintance was smart and liked to think, which he himself found very attractive.
The kiss wasn’t shy or gentle at all - it was rough and deep from the very beginning.Wanderer was a surprisingly good lead kisser, he knew just how to move his lips, just how to run his cold tongue over Ajax’s teeth, his own tongue and the palate. Ajax closed his eyes and leaned closer to the other male, reciprocating the kiss. But soon enough, despite how pleasant the experience was, he had to break the kiss. He ran out of oxygen long ago and Wanderer was just going on and on as if he didn’t even need to breathe. As Ajax broke the kiss, breathing heavily, he looked up at the other. He wasn’t panting, he didn’t look like he just spent a couple minutes without any oxygen at all. For some reason it gave Ajax deja-vu. Weird, he definitely hadn’t had any similar experiences, he would certainly remember something like that.
“Wow, I… Didn’t know… You can hold your breath… That well…”
He muttered in between loud breaths right before gasping with surprise as he felt cold lips on his neck. Wanderer moved his kisses down and up his soft warm skin splattered with light freckles. Those cold kisses felt like ice against Ajax’s neck, his body burning up from all the sudden affection from his acquaintance. Suddenly the kisses were interrupted by a quick bite. A quiet moan left his lips before he could even realise what was going on. He felt his body suddenly get even hotter.
“My my, are you blushing?”
Wanderer’s tone of voice was mockingly gentle, he was just as much of a tease as Ajax himself. Before the Harbinger could respond, he leaned closer and left a soft, gentle kiss on his collarbone. The next moment Ajax felt teeth on his skin again, then a passionate kiss over the bite as if to slightly sooth the tingling pain. He kept going lower, slightly pulling Ajax’s shirt pot of the way of his fiery kisses and love-bites. They left Ajax’s body burning hotter and sweatier than after a good work out, his heart racing faster than it would ever during the most intense of fights. Al this unexpected affection was overwhelming, made him dizzy, yet he couldn’t bring himself to stop Wanderer. Or maybe he just didn’t want him to stop. Wanted to keep melting under the other’s kisses, the touch of his cold hands.

Wanderer missed it so much. Missed covering Ajax’s skin with his kisses, with bite marks that no one else aside from the Harbinger and himself. This was their time, their private intimate get together. Ajax was magnetic. And the fact that he would probably leave soon and Wanderer would have not a single chance to see him, feel him… Wanderer just had to get as much as he possibly could now, just like Ajax said already. So he kept kissing and biting, leaving barely noticeable marks and even some small dark hickeys.
Suddenly, Wanderer felt a warm hand on his chin, rough skin slightly brushing against him. His face was slightly tilted upwards, and his eyes locked on Ajax’s. They rarely had that sparkle in them - Wanderer hadn’t seen it ever since he left. Ever since he first disappeared from the other’s life.
“I like seeing your eyes, you know… They’re as beautiful as a forget-me-not on a riverbank.”
Seeing that stupid pretty smile on Ajax’s handsome blushing face made Wanderer scoff. Forget-me-not,huh… How ironic. Sometimes he wished it was true. Wished that for some strange illogical reason Ajax hadn’t forgotten him, That he hadn’t destroyed what they had. But alas his erasure worked perfectly well, leaving no memories of him in the mind of a Harbinger. And so those stupid forget-me-nots just became a constant reminder of his crucial, terrible mistake that he regretted ever since.
“Yeah, sure, you’ve told me already-“
Ajax.
“Tartaglia.”
His name is Ajax, his mind screamed. Ajax, Ajax Ajax AjaxAjaxajaxajax! Wanderer missed saying that name out loud, whispering it in between his kisses, moaning it out as a response to his long passionate kisses. But now, he wasn’t supposed to know this name. He didn’t have the privilege of knowing it, of calling his lover by his real name. He lost it all…
“And I told you multiple times that it’s stupid. Besides I don’t like forget-me-nots”
Their flower. It was their flower and Wanderer lost it too… Just because he was stupid. Because his Ajax couldn’t not forget him. Just because he didn’t have the courage to tell him about it. At least not yet. All he had for now is hope.
Hope that Ajax wouldn’t forget this new version of him. Their new memories together. Their new relationship, messy but so pleasant and pationate as if Ajax still had all his feelings from before. As if at least some part of him held those memories in the back of his mind.
As if after all he didn’t forget.
