Work Text:
Minori had slept in.
It was a beautiful (close to) spring morning, and adding on to the excellence of this day—the weekend had just begun.
Knowing this, Minori had nothing significant to do.
Or so she thought.
Her phone vibrated violently as it emitted an annoying, blaring noise, surely to wake anyone up in an instant.
It did just as so, pulling Minori out of her comfortable sheets with a confused mumble from her lips.
She didn’t set alarms on Saturdays, usually.
The description of the alarm read “SHIZUKU DAET❤️❤️💘”
Shizuku…dah-et…?
…
SHIZUKU DATE!!
Shutting off the alarm, Minori sprung out of her warm bed, all of the drowsiness fading from her being—as she did in fact had something significant to do today.
“SHIZUKU-CHAN I AM SO SORRY AAA—“
Minori wailed, frantically getting her outfit prepared and hopping in the shower.
Just a few days before, Minori and her girlfriend of 5 months, Shizuku, had agreed to go on something Minori described as an “Everything Date”.
The pair had been wanting to go to various places together, but never had time due to their idol duties. So—Minori opted to change that by (attempting) to go to every place they had been wishing to visit together in one day.
Which meant, they’d have to be completely free, and wake up early to have a good timeframe.
Which wasn’t a problem since Minori tended to wake up not too far after sunrise. With this fact, she’d assume she wouldn't forget due to the large amount of anticipation she felt leading up to this day.
But lo and behold, she’d luck out again.
Minori usually takes a long time to get ready for events, or really anything, so she had hoped that she woke up way before her alarm notified her.
As she traced back her thoughts, she had set that alarm for 11:25 AM.
It was 11:40.
Her alarm had been blasting nonstop for 15 whole minutes.
She stepped out of her shower, landing on the soft mat right outside the tub.
“Samo-chan’s the only one here…right?” Minori uttered, defeatedly.
She’d hate to have bothered anyone else in her house (whose job isn’t to sit around and be a cute, fluffy cloud), but knowing she wasn’t woken up to a light scolding—it was likely that nobody was there.
After performing her skincare routine (which was a lovely gift from Airi a little while back), Minori started to apply some light makeup as a twinkling noise came from her phone.
“Ah, Shizuku-chan!” She lit up.
I hope she's not waiting for me… She dimmed right back down at the thought…
1 unread message from SHIZUKU-CHAN!! 🩵⭐️
Hello my love ❤, I’m sorry but I woke up a little late, I will be there soon.
Wait what!? How did we both manage to mess this up… Minori giggled in response.
Honestly, she was relieved that they’d been so in sync.
Minori’s chosen outfit was a white turtleneck, covered by a peach off-the-shoulder oversized sweater. Paired with a pleated white skirt, cream leg-warmers and orange mary janes.
She styled her hair in a half up half down look, and put on some square rimmed glasses. (only for fashion, she had enough luck to be granted with good eyesight…)
Happy with the reflection in the mirror, she took a small backpack with her, and walked out the door–phone in hand.
She had asked Haruka to take care of Samo-chan while she was gone prior, so the only thing concerning her at the moment was meeting up with her teal-haired girlfriend.
They chose to meet up at Miya Girls, being one of the places Shizuku memorized the route to.
Shizuku pranced outside the entrance, awaiting Minori's arrival.
Minori caught sight of her girlfriend, and promptly darted in her direction. Bracing for impact, a grin formed on Shizuku’s face.
“SHIZUKU-CHAAN!!” Minori had her arms way up in the air.
“Hello, Minori-chan!” Shizuku wrapped her arms around the girl who finally reached her.
“Your outfit is so beautiful today…” Shizuku beamed, pink forming on her cheeks.
“Really?! Well I…you…” Minori started to trail off as she admired her taller counterpart.
Shizuku laughed. “I…?”
Shizuku decided to branch out and wear some streetwear fashion. Close to what Haruka had worn that one time…
And Minori had adored Haruka in that look—almost to an unhealthy amount.
But now her girlfriend was in it.
“You are—! Extra dazzling today, Shizuku-chan!!” Minori asserted, her face flushed.
“Dazzling?” Shizuku teased. “I believe you’ve been hanging around Tsukasa-kun a little too much.”
“But come on, we have a lot of things to do today, sweetheart.”
Shizuku took Minori’s hand in her own and began to walk away from the school.
“W-wait! What do you mean I’m hanging around him too much!?”
Their first destination was an arcade that Shizuku had found once while she was lost. (She finds most cool places this way.)
They entered, welcomed by dim lighting and an abundance of neon lights and the sound of machines spewing out tickets.
“Minori-chan, isn’t it so colorful in here? I really enjoy the sight.”
“…”
Instead of focusing on the sight, Minori was filled with dread as she took a good look at her surroundings. Anytime she was at an arcade, she’d either come out empty-handed, or with the smallest prize possible. The latter BARELY happens too.
“…yes, the colors are…eye-catching…” Minori sighed in response.
“Minori-chan!” Shizuku pointed with excitement, “Can we play that shooting game?!”
Minori turned her head in the direction of her girlfriend’s arm.
“…of course, Shizuku-chan.”
She was more than happy to play something with her…but she already knew she wouldn't be able to hit a single target.
“1, 2, 3, START!”
The screen in front of the two started to fill with red and white circles, quickly popping up and popping right back down.
Shizuku, not surprisingly, had a keen sense of aim due to her archery.
Also, she wasn’t Minori.
The Minori in question was internally screaming.
The targets were appearing and disappearing TOO fast for Minori to handle, and the ones that stayed long enough she could NOT HIT for the life of her.
Shizuku’s score was x4 Minori's.
Despite the former, she had managed to hit a few bigger, slower targets that were worth way less points than the ones Shizuku was hitting.
After a lot of trial and error, the game had ended.
“PLAYER ONE WINS!”
“Yay!” Shizuku grinned, turning to Minori, who had a mix of happiness and defeat on her face.
“...Are you okay, love?”
“Y-yes! Just a little disappointed…in myself.”
Shizuku then forgot all about her tickets.
“No!! Minori-chan, you did wonderful! Maybe games just aren't your forte…” Shizuku reassured.
“Here–!” Shizuku laid her eyes on another machine. “I’ll win something just for you!”
“Thank you, Shizuku-chan…” Minori’s small doubts quickly faded, and a smile formed on her face.
Minori loves dogs, of course. As she has her own, and frequently talks about them.
So when Shizuku saw a claw machine full of cute dog plushies, she was determined to win one for her dearest.
Someone else was using this particular machine at the time, though.
So Shizuku just decided to stand a little farther away and wait.
Wow, this person seems like they know what they're doing…
The person using the machine was a guy seemingly around Shizuku's age–sporting a thin black turtleneck and very interesting hair.
Dual-colored? I've never seen someone like that…such pretty shades of blue.
One side of the person's hair was a darker blue, the adjacent side was lighter.
Shizuku watched the person in front of her closely, trying to study his moves so she could win the prize.
After all that work, the stranger ended up winning one of the plushies.
He claimed the prize and turned around.
Shizuku’s face dropped as she noticed his giddy expression.
Minori and I forgot to wear disguises!
I mean, we look different enough but–
“You are…Shizuku Hinomori, correct?” The guy's voice sounded a tad shaky and riddled with excitement.
“I didn't realize it was you at first because of your fashion choice but…I’m a huge fan of your group.”
Nonetheless, Shizuku always–greatly–appreciated a fan.
“Really? I’m very happy you're supporting our journey.” Shizuku smiled.
To her surprise, the boy in front of her reached his hands out towards her, the plushie looking at her dearly.
“I usually give my earnings away…so…I’d like you to have this.” The fan said.
“Are you sure? I saw you were working really hard for this.”
“Yes, of course.” The fan exclaimed. “I can always come back for more, it's no problem.”
I was planning to play myself, but I would never turn down such a gift.
“If that's so…I greatly appreciate it. I hope you continue to stand alongside us.”
“Yes, I will.”
After the fans' statement, he walked towards the exit with a big grin on his face.
“That was nice.”
Minori had been experiencing the arcade by herself during this, so Shizuku went to go find her.
This specific arcade has food catering, so she was helping herself to a small snack.
“Minori-chan!” Shizuku chimed as she walked up to her beloved.
“I happened to meet a fan while I was at the claw machine–so it turns out I didn't have to win you anything…”
“Oh…we didn't really hide our faces did we…” Minori chuckled.
She directed her vision to the plushie in Shizuku’s hand.
“S-Shizuku-chan!! This is so cute!!! It's for me?!” Minori beamed at the sight of the plush.
“Yes, I’m really glad that fan gifted it to me…I’m not sure if I have the skill to work one of those things.” Shizuku grinned, regifting the dog plush to Minori.
Minori tightly hugged the dog, grinning in unison with Shizuku.
“I was starting to get hungry while I was waiting, so I want to go to that cat cafe now!” Minori suggested.
“Hehe, for sure–Minorinrin.”
After a good amount of walking and hand-holding, the duo ended up at their next destination.
As they entered with a chime at the door, their eyes were blessed with the sight of a clowder of cuddly cats.
Also someone familiar…
“SAKI-CHAAN?!” Minori blurted as her eyes met one of her good friends.
“MINORI-CHAN!?” Saki shot back a surprised look to her idol companion.
“Saki-chan, I thought you worked at a regular café…did you quit?” Shizuku inquired, looking slightly disappointed.
“Oh, no! I just volunteer here sometimes…for the cats.” She chuckled nervously.
“So, sit down guys! You already know but I’m Saki, and I’ll be your server today~” Saki exclaimed, sealing her statement with a wink.
Minori and Shizuku sat shoulder to shoulder on a cuddly couch, paired together with even more cuddly cats already crawling onto them.
“Shizuku-chan, look! This one is just as white and fluffy as Samo-chan!”
“Aww, it is~” Shizuku replied, eyeing the cat in her girlfriend’s lap.
For a second, she thought if she hoped enough—she herself would turn into that same cat.
Saki had accidentally occupied herself with another cat, ignoring her customers.
She turned to the two sitting.
“Oh—! I’m sorry for being so unprofessional…what would you guys like to drink♪”
“No worries, Saki-chan! Make me one of your signature lattes, please!” Minori answered cheerfully.
“Right up!” Saki beamed as she wrote down on a small notepad. “What about you, Shizuku-chan?”
“Ah, I’ll have some green tea…”
“…green tea…Okay!” Saki seemingly scribbled in her notepad. “I’ll get those for you~”
As Saki walked away from the group, Minori caught a glimpse of the “notepad” Saki used to write down their orders.
“Um…Shizuku-chan?”
“Yes, Minorin?”
“Saki-chan was just doodling in that book she had in her hand.”
“Hehe…what happened to her professionalism?” Shizuku giggled.
“She's such a free-spirit~”
Minori nodded with a smile.
Saki walked back from the kitchen, drinks in hand.
“Here you go, pretties♪” Saki constantly had a positive expression on her face.
The two flushed at the compliment.
“Speaking of—I REALLY love what you guys did with your outfits today! Can we take a picture? I might use you guys' outfits as inspo later—if that's fine of course.”
The customers took a sip of their drinks in unison, humming delightfully.
“That sounds wonderful, Saki-chan! It’d be cool to see you in a more intimidating look, aswell.” Shizuku admitted.
“Yeah! I feel like you already wear the fashion I’m in now, though…” Minori added.
“But, let's take that photo!”
The trio bunched together as Saki took out her phone, Minori and Shizuku held their hand-crafted beverages in frame.
“Say, ‘I love kitties’!” Saki chimed before she took the photo.
“I love kitties!”
“I-I love—!”
“I love kitties~”
As Saki took the photo, Minori happened to stutter just a little.
Making it so only Shizuku and Saki were shown smiling properly.
“Hehe, Minori-chan, your face is a little off here.”
“Huh?! Wait, let me see!”
“No, no! You’re gonna make me delete it! You look so adorable though~”
Shizuku watched as her friend and her girlfriend dabbled in some friendly banter.
Hehe…I really appreciate the people in my life. I’ve had so much fun today…
After chatting and finishing their drinks, Minori and Shizuku departed from the cat cafe.
“Whaaat!?” Minori squeaked, looking wide-eyed at the sky.
The sun was setting.
“Aw, what a shame.” Shizuku responded with a pout.
“We only went to two places!? What happened to the time?” Minori proclaimed, pulling out her phone.
The time in question read 5:47.
“THAT'S NOT HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK!!”
“Ah, we’re still not in the daylight savings period, are we…” Shizuku frowned.
“Well that's okay! We can still go to my house if you wish.”
“I wish that everyday, Minori-chan~”
Minori’s face heated up.
“SO—! LETS GO!” Minori took her partner's hand and rushed off.
As the two approached the house, Minori took off her bag to retrieve her keys.
“Oh yeah, Shizuku-chan! I asked Haruka-chan to watch Samo-chan while I was gone, so she’ll be here too.”
“Really? I’m glad, I’ve been wanting to see Haruka-chan for a while.”
“You saw her yesterday though?” Minori tilted her head.
“Yes, I know.”
Shizuku smiled, without saying another word.
Minori let out a long sigh, followed with a smile.
Haruka was sitting in the living room of Minori’s house, watching television with a dog-eared cloud.
“Oh, hi Minori…”
Shizuku entered through the doorway.
“…and Shizuku.” Haruka smiled warmly.
“Hello Haruka-chan! Thank you for looking after Samo-chan for me!” Minori spoke as she picked up her dog and nuzzled them.
“Yes, I thank you too, Haruka-chan.” Shizuku added.
Shizuku spoke calmly, but when she got close enough she forced Haruka into the most painful but loving hug she's ever experienced.
“S—SHIZUKU! I CAMMOT BREEFH!!” Haruka struggled to talk as she attempted to return the hug.
“Eh!? Shizuku-chan!” Minori tried to help as she laid Samo back down. “You’re squeezing Haruka-chan!”
“Oh..” Shizuku realized way too late, relieving Haruka of the tightness.
“Hah…what was that for?” Haruka asked, out of breath.
“I’m sorry, Haruka-chan, I just really wanted to see you again.”
“For any particular reason…or?”
“No…I want to see Airi-chan now…” Shizuku trailed off.
“I just want to show you guys how much I care about you…” For some reason, Shizuku was hit with some sort of sadness.
“I’m sure we all, including Airi-chan, know fully how much you care for us!” Minori explained with a shining grin.
“Yes, I agree. We all have a mutual understanding of each other's appreciation, Shizuku,” Haruka remarked. “No need to worry if we don’t.”
“Hehe…if you say so…”
The three ended up playing some games on Minori’s T.V, with Airi on the phone alongside them. (with her added jealousy of not being able to attend in person.)
They wanted to have a sleepover having stayed up a little later than usual, but decided it wasn’t the same without Airi.
Even if two members of MORE MORE JUMP! were dating, the 4 of them all had a very strong bond.
