Forever

Summary:

You and Kento spend some time at the beach.

Notes:

Feeling terrible after the last jjk episode so I wrote this to help me feel better. It’s completely self indulgent but I hope you enjoy :)

Work Text:

You didn’t know if the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore were waking you up or keeping you asleep, the warm breeze blew through the open window and caressed your naked skin and then something else, the light touch of his finger tips dragged lazily across your cheekbone, your neck and shoulders, down the curve of your back.

“Hmmm Kento,” you sighed snuggling deeper into your pillow being lulled back to sleep by the touch of the man you loved.

“It’s time to get up darling,” Kenton’s voice was still laden with sleep making it deeper and more syrupy. “But we’re on vacation, we can sleep in as long as we want, just a few more minutes please.” You could feel his lips now kissing the crown of your head, the corner of your lips, your jaw. “You can sleep on the sand, c’mon now.” He gently tilted your jaw to press your lips to his, “the sun won’t wait for us.” He whispered and kissed you again deeper this time, gliding his soft hands down the curves of your body pushing off the light sheet that had been draped over you the night before. You were still naked and feeling a little sore between your legs, but it felt good, all this felt so good, getting to relax with your husband on a much needed and well deserved beach vacation in Malaysia. Your quaint lodging had been hidden away on a private beach where the sand was soft and the water glistened a shade blue you have never seen before. It was beautiful and it was all you’ve ever wanted for you and Kento, to be alone and away from the stress of work and everyday life. You could stay here forever.

You both had eventually made your way down to the beach, an umbrella stuck in the sand providing some much needed shade in the early morning heat , two large towels laid out for either of you. You were wearing a light cotton dress over your swimsuit skimming over some romance novel that wasn’t even that good. Eventually you put it down and looked over at Kento. This was the most relaxed and possibly the happiest you had ever seen him, he wore just his swim trunks, his hair tousled from the ocean breeze, sunglasses low on his nose, you could see his eyes were closed head tilted back the smallest hint of a smile was on his lips, if you didn’t know him as well as you did you wouldn’t see it. Seeing him like this was worth the almost six hour flight from Japan, planes were not your thing. But Kento had been talking about going to Malaysia since he lost a close friend of his, you were supposed to go for your honeymoon but plans changed at the last minute and you ended up going to a resort in Switzerland instead. So when Kento got the promotion (and raise) he worked so hard for you both figured it was time to indulge.

“I’m going in, come with me?” Kento sat up and outstretched his hand for you to take. “I’ll join you in a bit. Just got to a good part.” Of course that was a lie but you just wanted to watch him a bit longer. He made his way towards the water, walking through the shallow waves as they crashed onto the sand. The water splashed up and onto his shorts he laughed at the shock of it looking back to you, looking at him. Your smile matched his and the look in his eyes said, ‘I love you’. Right before your eyes Kento became years younger his shoulders dropped and his cheeks held a permanent pink hue, from the sun, from happiness, it didn’t matter because it looked damn good on him. Happiness looked good on him. You would do anything to protect that. Just as he would do anything to protect you.

“Are you going to join me or am I going to have to carry you out here!” His voice carried itself over the sound of the waves just enough for you to hear. You put your book aside not bothering to save the page and you ran towards him, his arms outstretched ready to catch you. You jumped and tangled your arms around his shoulders, wrapped your legs around his waist. He stumbled and as a wave crashed behind him the water slashed up his back and over his head soaking the both of you.
You squealed and gripped onto Kento tighter.

“Took you long enough,” Kento spoke in your ear, “what had you so taken.” He slowly set you down looking at your now soaked sundress that very clearly showed your swimsuit underneath. “You did,” he met your eyes again and you smiled. And then more earnestly than you had intended you asked, “can we just stay here…forever?” And even though Kento knew that this eventually had to end, that a week from now you’d both be back in Japan and he’d be behind a desk under fluorescent lights instead of laying in the sand under the sun he replied, “yes we can stay here forever.”
