Chapter Text
Jaiden awoke in a seat. She didn't remember falling asleep? As she slowly woke up and stretched her wings, she noticed others around her, most of them unfamiliar...
Jaiden got up from her seat and surveyed her surroundings. She seemed to be on a train. A moving one at that. The others were starting to stir and look around. Now that Jaiden could see the others more, she could recognize a few. She didn't know anyone personally, but she could pick out people she had heard of. Jaiden looked around and thought back to how she got on the train. How did she get on here..?
“Woah, where are we?" someone brought her back from her thoughts. She turned to see who spoke, only to find everyone stood up.
A cochonophy of noise erupted as everyone started to talk to each other. They all seemed to know one another. This was amazing. Jaiden didn't exactly know where she was, but she was excited to be there anyway.
Jaiden watched from the sidelines when someone yelled something in Spanish and pointed out the window. They were approaching their destination, apparently, and something was happening.
The land was trembling when a giant wall of stone started to rise out of the earth.

When the train came to a stop everyone rushed to get out, pushing everyone and everything out of their way. Jaiden was the last person out, not wanting to get hurt in the commotion.
When everyone was out she looked around at the group Jaiden arrived with. There were many hybrids, only a few true humans in the mix. She began to look around the train station. It had high ceilings and many pillars. Jaiden noticed a few windows higher than anyone could reach, so she lept off the ground, her wings keeping her up in the air. She flew up to the windows and looked out. There was a beautiful meadow with wild animals freely roaming about it.
Jaiden turned around and saw everyone looking at her they looked like they hadn't seen an avian hybrid before, and to be honest, most of them probably hadn't, being the types of animals they were. She saw another avian on the ground, looking more human than bird. He was a duck hybrid, with small wings on his lower back, too small to work correctly. Jaiden was more birdlike. She had the legs of a parrot and taloned hands, and a human torso and head. Her wings were blue and grey, but her hair was brown.
She flew back down and the duck started yelling at her. A mix between Spanish and English "Pendejo, what were you doing! ¡Asustaste a esta gente hasta la muerte!"
Jaiden didn't understand most of what he said but she knew she had done something wrong. "I don't speak Spanish, but I'm sorry for whatever I did." She saw that most of the crowd were land dwellers, and realized that she had probably scared them with her sudden movements.
“Oh, if I scared you I'm sorry, I won't make any sudden movements anymore, if that helps." She smiled and tucked her wings in so they wouldn't be so big anymore. She had average wings, for avians but they could still seem large to non-avian people.
Most of the crowd calmed down at that, but the duck still gave her a dirty look. Jaiden Stuck out her hand to greet him "Hi, I'm Jaiden, It's nice to meet you."
"Quackity," the duck growled and pulled her to the sidelines "You need to stop scaring people like that. Mucha gente todavía está inquieta a nuestro alrededor, no nos hagamos-" He corrected himself, speaking in English "Lots of people are still scared of avians, let's not get too ahead of ourselves."
“Okay, sure." Jaiden was unsure about Quackity, but she would try to be friends with everyone if she could. She moved back towards the group. Everyone was looking at a book on a stand at the front of the station. Jaiden looked over the crowd, but couldn't see anything in the book. She was waiting for everyone to clear out when a screen appeared above the book.
You have 4 minutes to figure out this puzzle. Get it done quickly to
meet the other residents of this island.
A duck cartoon was quacking over the text on the screen.

The group dissolved into noise again and Jaiden -not liking loud noises, despite being very loud herself- moved away. She noticed another person standing alone. DanTDM, a pretty memorable creator, was on the edge. Dan was one of the original YouTubers and pretty much the father of the community. Now that she was out of the noise she felt like she could actually hear her thoughts.
“Hi, I'm Jaiden." she greeted Dan "Sorry if I scared you earlier, I didn't mean any harm."
“I'm Dan! And I don't mind that, your wings are really impressive!" Jaiden was surprised at his enthusiasm. Suddenly, someone ran up to them and yelled at them to help with the puzzle. It was Quackity again.

A timer on the screen - Jaiden hadn't noticed it before in all the commotion - was at:

The duck appeared again
You have failed the puzzle. Because of this, you have an extra task. Return power to the island, and you will meet other residents.
The wall behind the book opened to reveal a chest and the field Jaiden saw behind the glass. "Everyone, come look at this! ¡Ven aquí!" Quackity yelled. Inside the chest were two books and lots of small walkie-talkie-looking things. The walkie-talkies were labeled with everyone's names. Jaiden picked out hers and looked at it.
Welcome to Quesadila Island. We hope you enjoy your stay!
Words flashed across the screen, explaining what was happening.
"So, these are our... comunicators? " A demon asked no one in particular.
Someone spoke in Spanish, and the communicators buzzed.
Spanish: ¿Qué se supone que debemos hacer con estos?
English: What are we supposed to do with these?
Everyone was amazed. All at once the residents began to speak, all trying out their translator. Jaiden decided to click on a button near the top of the panel. A chat log came up. She typed something in it, and everyone else's communicator beeped. Jaiden's message was answered by an unfamiliar name.
<JaidenHere> Hi everyone!
<Ph1lz@> hey!
Jaiden looked at the name. It was clearly a username, but it seemed so familiar...
She was pulled back out of her thoughts by someone reading loudly out of a book in Spanish. She couldn't understand what he was saying, but soon Dan started to read the other book.
1. Collect 20 water wheel planks from the chest in this power shed.
2. Go to coordinates - 2903, 2080 - to find the water wheel.
3. To restore power to the island, you have to find the planks.
Everyone scattered to find the shed, and Jaiden ended up with Dan again. "Hi again!" Jaiden wanted to get to know Dan more, but she was scared she would startle him.
“Hello! I didn't get to finish what I was saying before, I love your wings, and I've always been fascinated with birds and avian species. If you don't mind, it would be amazing if I could look at your wing structure?"
Jaiden unfolded her wings immediately, "Sure!" And Dan started to look at her wings. He studied the wing for a few minutes before speaking again "You know, a wing can betray a lot about the bird, or person in this case."
“Oh? And what does my wing say?" Jaiden was surprised about how much Dan knew about birds. "You seem very tense, like you haven't stretched your wings enough, and stressed too..." Dan looked up at Jaiden, a worried expression on his face. "Are you okay?"
“What? Yeah..? Is something wrong?" Jaiden didn't feel anything wrong. Maybe her wings were sore, but they had been folded up for almost an hour now. "Your wings.." he paused for a second "Did you even feel that?"
“What? no..?" She turned around to find Dan holding one of her large blue feathers. "What!?" she exclaimed and grabbed the feather out of Dan's hand. "My- My wings are..."
“I've never seen this before, we might have to go to another avian... I heard rumors of an older avian on the island. For now, let's just find the water wheel planks."
“Okay..." Jaiden was dreading what might happen, but she trusted Dan. When they found the shed, there were only a few planks left, but they took them to the coordinates, where they found a wheel. Some other people were there, including a shark-totem hybrid, a nether demon, and quackity.
The totem and demon introduced themselves as foolish and bad, and they immediately began yelling at each other. Quackity took the planks from Dan and Jaiden and put them onto the wheel. The rest of the group came back with lots of planks, and when they attached them to the wheel it started spinning. Everyone cheered at that, and Jaiden moved away from the crowd.
Bad opened the chest next to the wheel and pulled out a long red wire. "This must be for forwarding power to the island." He attached it to a plug in the power store and ran over the hill to a post in the ground. "Let's follow these!"
The power line eventually led to the wall, and Jaiden could hear other people on the opposite side. "Hello? Is anyone there?" A voice called from the other side. Jaiden recognized the voice. It was a slime hybrid named Charlie. "Charlie!" Jaiden called to her friend. "I can hear you!"
“Jaiden? It's so good to hear you! It's been so long!" Charlie was right, It had been a while. The last time Jaiden had seen him was her last trip outside her town. "Yeah, it has been a while!" just then, Jaiden's communicator beeped.
Power has been restored to the island. Please wait for-
