Work Text:
Another stressful day had gone by. Everyone was exhausted and just wanted to do something fun. Soul was in his bedroom, trying to relax a bit and cope with the stress. A familiar haze started to cloud his thoughts, causing him to feel younger all of a sudden. Of course that’s how his brain chose to cope, despite the fact there was still so much to get done. He sighed softly, pushing back against the haze for a moment. If he was feeling like this, then the others probably were too.
Atlas went to check on Apollo and Artemis, which to his surprise were already together, playing with their little stuffed toys. They chuckled slightly and sat down next to the duo. “{You two feeling small too?}”. The duo nodded in unison, both immediately wrapping their arms around their host. The Stars chuckled slightly seeing them, and held them close. He sighed softly looked at them. It never felt right when he regressed…what if they felt the same way? He did have the ability to manipulate their bodies, to a certain extent at least. They wondered....could they use that to their advantage?
The Stars closed their eyes, trying to focus before he completely gave in to the haze. A slightly warm feeling washed over the trio. It felt…nice…like a cozy blanket was being wrapped around them. They all closed their eyes, leting the soothing sensation flood their senses. When the trio opened their eyes back up, everything seemed a lot larger than it had before. Soul rubbed his eyes a bit and stood up. That was odd…he was a lot closer to the ground than before. They looked at themself and just stared for a moment. “{Oh…Oh my god..}”
Soul began to giggle and smile. He had actually done it! They made their body match their mental state, and they had done the same for the others too. They finally let the haze overtake them and looked at the other two. Mind seemed a little confused, but overall content with his new appearance. Meanwhile Heart…had disappeared, being cover by his now way too large hoodie, which apparently hadn’t shrunk down with him. Oops. Artemis was desperately trying to find his way out of the hoodie, and eventually managed to get their head through the hole in the top. Atlas giggled a bit and went over to the emotional half. “{Sorry…lemme fix it}”.
The Stars grabbed on to the way oversized hoodie and managed to somewhat shrink it down, but it was still way too big for The Moon. Juno just simply flailed his sleeves around a bit, smacking his host with one of them. They huffed and pouted, not enjoying the fact their hoodie no longer fit. Soul giggled and gave Heart a hug. “{‘m sorry junebug…maybe harm’ny can fix it?}” Both Apollo and Artemis lit up at the idea, and before they knew it the trio was knocking on Harmonia’s door.
Whole opened up his door, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he did. He had just woken up from a nap, and the last thing he expected was a trio of children standing at his door. He raised an eyebrow, staring at the kids below him. “What the fu-” He was cut off by Soul immediately hugging his leg. “{Harm’ny!}” Harmonia looked down and sighed softly. “Hey Atlas…guess you three took being small to a whole new level huh?”. Apollo nodded, squeezing his duck stuffie a bit tighter. The Sky rolled his eyes, and let a small smile spread across his face. “Alright then. Just another thing to get used to I guess.” He carefully picked up The Stars and looked down at The Sun and The Moon. “Did you need anything specifically?” Juno lifted up his arms a bit, letting his way too long sleeves fall and cover his hands. “(Too big…)”.
Harmonia nodded and chuckled a bit. “Ah. Well…I can try and fix the sleeves at least. Just until you grow into it again…?” Artemis nodded. “(Please?)”. Whole couldn’t hold back his smile any longer. “Aw…how could I say no after you were so polite?” He set Soul back down and carefully took Heart’s hoodie from him. “You three go play. I’ll be out there in a minute.” He walked back into his bedroom and grabbed a small sewing kit. He kept it around for emergencies, or apparently situations like this now. It wasn’t much, but it had some needles and thread, and that’s all he needed.
The Sky walked into the living room and sat on the couch. He looked out into the room, watching his thirds mess around. The Stars and The Moon were having a conversation about some random cartoon, While The Sun was off playing with their duck by themself. Harmonia smiled softly and decided to turn on some music, just for background noise. A cheesy little downtempo soft rock song started to play. Not his first pick, but Whole was more than content with it.
Whole started to hum along to the song as he dug around for the right colored thread. Soul also perked up hearing the song and stood up, beginning to dance around a bit. They looked over at Heart and pulled them up to their feet, trying to get them to join the little dance they had started. Juno tilted his head slightly in confusion, but soon enough, he was dancing with Atlas, and having an absolute blast while doing so.
Harmonia chuckled seeing the two and began to actually sing along to the lyrics. “ Seasons change and our love went cold. Feed the flame 'cause we can't let go. Run away, but we're running in circles. Run away, run away.~ “ The Sky stood up, deciding to join the little dance party that had started, performing to the best of his ability. “I dare you to do something I'm waiting on you again, so I don't take the blame. Run away, but we're running in circles. Run away, run away, run away~”
Atlas giggled and went to go try and get Apollo to join. He started tugging on his arm, smiling brightly. “{Cmon ‘pollo!}”. Mind shook his head and tried to pull away, but Soul wouldn’t give in quite so easily. The two tussled for a moment, but the sound of something tearing immediately caused them to stop. They both looked down, immediately freezing up at the sight. The Sun had been gripping onto his stuffed duck, and when The Stars pulled a little too hard, one of its wings got ripped off.
The pair just stared at the duck as Soul quickly let go of Mind’s arm. Mind started to shake slightly as he tried his best to reattach the wing. “[Ar-ty..?]”. Atlas slowly shuffled away, looking down in shame as Apollo got more and more desperate. Tears filled the automaton’s eyes as he began to whimper. Harmonia looked over and immediately rushed to Apollo’s side. “Woah hey…are you alright?” The Sun held up his now torn apart duck, crying as he did so. “[Arty…]”
The Sky frowned and gently wiped away their tears. “Hey…shhh….it’s okay. I can fix it. Don’t worry.” He carefully took the duck from The Sun and went back over to his sewing kit. He grabbed some thread and immediately began sewing the wing back on, working as fast as he could. Apollo sniffled and walked over to the couch, watching Harmonia work. “[..will Arty be okay…?]”. Whole raised an eyebrow and nodded. “Arty will be okay. I promise”. He picked up Mind and set them down on the couch next to him.
Mind wrapped his arms around Whole, squeezing him gently. Whole sighed softly and put an arm around them. “Everything's alright…I promise.” He quickly got back to work, and soon enough the wing was sewn back on. Harmonia smiled softly and handed the duck to Apollo. “Told ya everything’d be fine…Good as new right?”. The Sun sniffled and nodded, squeezing his duck tightly. “[...Thank you.]”. “You’re welcome” The Sky smiled and watched as he hopped off the couch and went back over to The Moon and The Stars.
Atlas stared at Apollo for a brief moment before hugging him tightly. “‘{‘m sorry ‘pollo…I didn’t mean too…}”. The two stood there for a brief moment before The Sun hugged The Stars back. “[I forgive you…was an accident.]” Mind pulled away and carefully handed their duck to Soul. “[Arty forgives you too..]”. Soul smiled brightly and held the stuffed duck for a bried moment before handing it back to its rightful owner. “{Thank you}”.
Juno walked over to the duo and huffed a small bit. “(Can we play now…? ‘m bored…)” Soul chuckled a bit and nodded. “{Mhm! Cmon!}” They grabbed their thirds’ arms, being a lot more gentle this time and dragged them off to play some random game together. Whole watched the trio and smiled, working on altering Heart’s hoodie as he kept an eye on them. Soon enough though the three wore themselves out and all climbed on the couch next to Harmonia.
Atlas let out a small yawn and started leaning against Harmonia, Apollo and Artemis following his lead. He looked down at them and chuckled. “Nap time?”. “{([Mhm…])}”. Whole put down his little project and grabbed a nearby blanket, draping it over the three. “Yknow a nap actually doesn’t sound too bad right now..” He chuckled and let the trio adjust themselves, all three now laying on top of him. “[Goodnight…]”. “(Night night…)”. “{Love you Harm’ny}”. The Sky just smiled and kissed The Stars’ forehead. “Love you guys too. Sweet dreams”. He watched The Stars, The Sun, and The Moon all fall asleep, letting their peaceful snores slowly lull him to sleep as well. Perhaps a guy could get used to this…
