Everytime Satoru asked him a question, even in his sleep, Kento would answer him. And that makes him feel so loved.

or, Nanami is a light sleeper and always answer all of Gojo's questions even in his sleep. He also always crush any doubt his boyfriend feels in himself or in their relationship.

Notes:

this is my coping fics 2.0. I refuse to watch the episode of Nanami's death, nope. Nanami and Gojo is fine and they're cuddling right now.

I made this after a hard day at work and it is now 11pm so i apologise for any grammatical error, i just want them to hug and kiss.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

His head is spinning out of control and he’s 100% sure that Ieri is gonna kill him.

“I really would’ve let you sit out in the rain if it weren’t for Nanami”, a scowl on her face. Satoru should be worried but he knows Ieri won’t kick him out, not when he’s so fucking wasted like this.

It was supposed to be a simple afternoon drink with Ieri, Satoru was just gonna eat a few cakes (4 cakes is not a big portion, Satoru is a grown man) and they were gonna catch up. That is until Ieri brings up Nanami in the conversation.

Satoru is really lightweight, it’s Ieri’s fault if we think about it. Why would she bring up Nanami if she knows Satoru will drink his face off? “Why would you bring up Nanami then?” Satoru accuses her, because even in his wasted consciousness Satoru will always be able to talk about Nanami.

“I didn’t. I was just telling you about my day at the infirmary.” Ieri says matter of factly, she’s just so tired of Satoru’s simping ass.

“Nanami was in the infirmary yesterday” Satoru is on the brink of tears again. He took another gulp of the martini before Ieri forcefully took it from his grasp.

“You.” She poke Satoru’s head with her point finger “Bring that up. Not me.”

Satoru snorts before he starts ranting about Nanami again. This has been Ieri’s life for the past 2 hours and now it’s 9pm. Ieri doesn’t hate Nanami or Satoru, it’s just that hearing how good of a boyfriend Nanami is not how she expects to spend the afternoon after a gruesome day at work.

“Do you know that Nanami is a light sleeper?”

“No, I do not”

“One time I asked him if he would love me if I was a worm, he grunts but he says yes, Ieri.” Satoru wipes the tear off his face before continuing “He would love me as a fucking worm.”

“Good for you.”

Here’s the thing, Satoru has always had problems sleeping ever since he was a kid. The burden of six eyes or whatever. He sleeps better with Kento, but it has always been hard for him to fall asleep. And his mind wonders.

Sometimes after Kento falls asleep, he lets the doubt creep in. Satoru was a hopeless romantic, and he’s just not built for love. Not after what happened the last time he tried his luck on love. He wanted to be loved so badly but he knew anyone who even dares to love him will fall apart.

Kento was different, he knew that his boyfriend will be the type of guy who will survive any situation. But sometimes he can’t help it if he feels like the world will tear Kento apart for simply being with him. And if anything were to happen to Kento, Satoru did not want to think about the person he would become.

Kento, he thinks, is a bit ironic. He craves normal life so much and yet he decides to settle for Satoru Gojo. Kento did bring normalcy to Satoru’s life, but he’s not sure he did the same for him. It’s the way Kento makes their coffee in the morning, or the way he makes Satoru buy that sourdough he likes before coming home.

It’s the way he loves Satoru like it’s the easiest thing in the world when Satoru knows it’s the opposite. It’s the way he always answers Satoru’s doubt with certainty. It’s the way he’s always so firm and sure in their relationship when Satoru felt like fleeing to spare him the heartbreak. He always waits for Satoru to come back to his arms.

During the nights where Satoru can’t sleep, he would trace the outline of Kento’s face and wonder out loud. “What would I do without you?” and to his surprise, Kento would answer him “You’ll be just fine, Satoru” before falling back asleep. And that’s how he realized that Kento will always answer him no matter the situation.

Sometimes Satoru would ask him stupid questions just to have some laughs like, “Kento, did we run out of oat milk?” “no, you bought 4 boxes yesterday” or “Nanami, do you want to be a teacher at Jujutsu High?” “no.” or “Kento, I’m gonna make caramel right now” and Kento would hug him to his chest tightly, whispering “don’t burn our kitchen in the middle of the night”.

Everytime Satoru asked him a question, even in his sleep, Kento would answer him. And that makes him feel so loved. He feels like exploding with all this love he contains and receives from Nanami Kento.

“I could die”

“Then die” Ieri sips her drink while Satoru is moping in the seat beside her.

“Ieri-” a hiccup. “Ieri, I really think I could die Ieri”

A groan before Ieri try to push Satoru long limbs away from her

“I love him so much” a teardrop and a snort. “Do you think he knows I love him?”

With a sigh, Ieri indulges him for a bit until Kento comes and picks up this slobbering mess of a man. “I don’t know Satoru, do you tell him you love him?” Ieri put her head on her hand and turned to look at her friend.

Satoru has a longing look on his face that she can’t quite place before he answers her “Yeah, but when the time comes, do you think he’ll know that I love him?” and suddenly Satoru looks sobered up that Ieri is a bit concerned.

Before Ieri could answer, she saw Kento stepping into the bar with an umbrella in his hand and wearing his working clothes. So, he really does come straight from work to pick up Satoru. Ieri waves to him until Kento walks towards them. Looking down, Ieri saw Satoru's head laying on the dirty bar while he cried.

When Kento approached them, he put a hand on Satoru’s shoulder while bowing to Ieri, “Sorry you have to deal with drunk Satoru, Ieri-san”. Noticing the hand on his shoulder, Satoru lifts his head to see his boyfriend and he tears up again. So he settles on burying his face on Kento’s chest.

Ieri waves him off “Nah, he’s your problem now.” While Ieri pays their bills, Kento rubs his hands slowly on Satoru’s back and leans down so he can hear him more clearly.

“Satoru? Can you walk?”

Satoru mumbled something that he can’t quite make up. “What is it?” Kento says into his ear.

“I love you so much,” Satoru whispered into Kento’s neck. He couldn't hold back his smile as he kissed the top of his boyfriend’s head and held him closer.

Kento has had a long day at work today, the case he’s been assigned to has brought in more curse than what was stated on the report. He had to work overtime and he’s so tired. Then as he washes up at the school, Ieri calls him with a complaint that Satoru is being a drunken mess.

Does Kento want to go straight home and rest with a cuddle from his boyfriend? Yes, he does. But he can’t do that if said boyfriend is being a drunken mess in a bar. So, Kento had to pick up the boyfriend first before having that cuddle he so desperately needed.

He thinks, as Satoru clutches the back of his suit tightly and face buried deep in his chest, this is worth the extra commute.

They walk out of the bar with Satoru in the middle, surprisingly still walking straight despite his drunken state. Kento was about to offer Ieri to share a cab with them but she lights her cigarettes and grabs Kento’s umbrella.

“I’m borrowing this, I need to walk this off before coming home or else Iori will nag me all night for drinking with this man” she pushed Satoru’s arm lightly. Yet, Satoru still stumbles dramatically into Kento’s arm.

“You really should stop smoking, Ieri,” Satoru mumbles while he lays his head on Kento’s shoulder.

“Shut up, nerd. You owe me another drink.” She opens the umbrella and turns to Kento. “Thank you for picking up this mess, you’re really our strongest soldier. See you!” She then turns around and waves them goodbye.

It’s getting late and the street is slowly emptying but thankfully Kento catches a taxi not long after Ieri’s goodbye. He led Satoru in first before telling the driver their address. Satoru is fast asleep on the ride home. Head lying on Kento’s shoulder with Kento’s arm wrapped around his. Holding him close.

Kento was about to doze off as well before they arrived but he made it through. Once he closes the door to their apartment, Satoru is already undressing himself and leaving trail of his clothes on the floor on his way to their bedroom.

Kento could just sigh because he’s too tired to complain. Picking up the clothes of his drunk boyfriend, he comes to their bedroom to find Satoru in his shirt that he left hanging at the back of their bedroom door this morning, laying on their bed. Kento makes a quick change of his clothes before joining him on the bed.

Satoru’s fold himself until Kento could wrap him up in his arm and brush his soft white hair.

“Do you want to brush your teeth and wash your face first?” a kiss to Satoru’s head.

He could only shake his head and burrow deeper into Kento’s arm.

“Okay, but you’ll hate it in the morning”

Just as Kento is about to doze off, he feels a wetness in his chest and Satoru’s shoulder is shaking lightly.

“Satoru? What’s wrong?” All he got was a little shake of head.

Kento tries to pull Satoru’s face away so he can look him in the eyes and see what’s wrong, but Satoru is far more stronger than him and he’s not letting go of his grip on Kento’s waist.

Kento, knowing Satoru sometimes turns like this when he’s feeling overwhelmed, could only hold him back and kiss the top of his head until he calms down.

“Kento…” the voice came deep from his chest, high pitched, like he’s in physical pain.

“Baby,” Kento held him tighter.

“When you leave me,” Satoru says, “will you hate me then?”

“I’m not leaving you,” Kento firmly says. Because Satoru gets like this sometimes. Kento doesn’t understand what it is that he did to always make Satoru think he will leave him. But everytime Satoru starts to doubt, Kento doesn’t even hesitate to remind him that he’s not going anywhere.

There’s a snort coming from Satoru before he withdraws his face from Kento’s chest. Kento looked down on his boyfriend’s tear streaked face. He wiped the tray hair from his face before kissing him on the forehead. Kissing him on his eyelids. Nose. A peck on the lips.

Satoru feels so loved he could explode.

“Will you hate me then?” Satoru tries once again.

“I’m not–”

“Indulge me, Kento” He cuts him off. “When you leave me, will you hate me?” like he did? like everyone that has left me hated me?

“Satoru,” Kento cups Satoru’s face on both of his palms before kissing him on his lips that taste like strawberry. Satoru must’ve drunk some sweet alcohol at the bar. Kento couldn’t help the fondness in his heart as he smiled lightly into the kiss.

He kisses him softly, like Satoru deserves to be handled with all the care in the world. Never with the callousness of it. All tender and soft and sweet. He pushes apart Satoru’s lips until he lets him in and takes his soul with the brush of their tongue. He took his breath away until there’s nothing in his mind but the way their lips move together. The way Satoru clings to Kento is like a lifeline.

Pulling away, Kento stares deep into those sky blue eyes. His heart is so full, he loves him so much he could just spend every second left in this life staring into those beautiful eyes, counting down the sparkle in it.

“I will not indulge” Kento answers him once again. “Because I will not leave you, and I could never hate you.”

Tiny drops of water are coming from those beautiful eyes that Kento loves so much. He kisses it away and cradles Satoru’s face before giving him another kiss.

“So please, stop doubting me, okay?”

Satoru shakes his head, “It’s not you that I doubt,” it’s myself.

“Then stop doubting us, and have a bit more faith in my love for you, please.”

Satoru takes in the face of a man that has loved him for the past 2 years and his heart aches. He thinks he has loved Kento even far before that. It all just slowly built up until one day he had to let it out, he had to let out all the love he have for this man or he’ll combust.

Kento catches him then. He was falling so hard, and Kento caught him.

He doesn't know if he’ll ever stop doubting himself. But, he’ll try for Kento.

“You deserve the world, Kento.”

“I know,” Kento kissed him again “You’re my world.”

And Satoru promised himself then. To have more faith. To love him better. To be a better person for him. To be deserving of this love he currently holds.
