Matt looked down at the wrapped box sat on the counter, lost in thought. Would Steven actually like this? Was he just gonna embarrass himself? What if he messed it up somehow and didn’t notice?!
He finished it so late at night after all..
…
No, he worked hard on it, it’ll be fine. Steven will love it.
Meanwhile, Steven was thinking the same about his own gift. But, he couldn’t reassure himself. It was just another bracelet, Matt already has so many..
“What was I thinking??”
Steven sighed, he couldn’t do anything about it now. Why couldn’t he have picked something more meaningful?
Dave and Jack got each other matching hats. God knows where they even got them, but they looked happy about it. Matt watched the two messing around like a couple of idiots before Steven approached.
Matt looked over at him and stood up straight, grabbing the box on the counter quickly and holding it out.
“I uh- I made this for you..”
Steven awkwardly reached out and grabbed it, Matt nodded quickly as if saying “open it!” And so he did, taking off the wrapping paper and opening the box. If he had a jaw, it would have dropped to the floor.
In the box, was a custom Foxy plushie. He looked back up at Matt. “You- you made this?” Matt nodded “yeah, it took a while, but I thought you might like it” “of COURSE I like it! This is amazing, Matt!”
Matt blushed a bit, looking to the side. Then Steven panicked. There’s no way his gift could even compare to the one Matt gave him.
He gulped and grabbed the bracelet from his pocket, handing it to Matt and looking to the side “I uh… I got this for you, I know it’s not nearly as good as the one you gave me, but-“ Matt cut him off “really??? This is so cool! Thanks, Steven! I love it!”
“… you do?” “Of course I do! I lost one of my favorite ones and was already planning on buying another, and because it comes from you it makes it even more special”
Steven froze up, his heart beating a million miles a minute “o-oh”
The two stood in a bit of an awkward silence for a moment, but it was quickly broken by Dave yelling at them
“YOU TWO SHOULD KISS”
Steven quickly looked over at him, and was about to say something before Matt quickly leaned forward, giving him a quick kiss while he was distracted.
Steven froze up and Jack glanced over “oh great, you broke him.”
