All humans in the world are born with cat ears and tails as a symbol of their innocence, purity, and naivety. When someone has sex for the first time, they fall off, indicating that the person has reached adulthood.
There were no exceptions to this rule.
At 17 years old, Isagi Yoichi still had his ears and tail, which were the same color as his black, straight, and shiny hair. He had never seriously thought about it, he was sure that one day someone would take them away from him, but he wasn't very interested in finding out yet. Most people tend to lose their virginity between 15 and 16 years old. When he was selected to be part of the Blue Lock project, he realized that most players still had their ears and tails, although over the months, many of them lost them.
Bachira, who had beautiful tiger-striped ears and a fluffy tail, suddenly no longer had them. The same thing happened to Nagi and Reo, although Isagi was sure that those two lost theirs together.
Now that the Neo Egoist League had started, Yoichi realized that there were few players who still maintained their chastity. Chigiri had told him that losing them wasn't a big deal; it just happened and the next day you felt lighter.
Even Rin had lost his before him; how was that possible?
In the Germany Stratum, Kurona, Ness, Raichi, and of course, he, were the only ones who still had their ears and tails intact. Since Isagi met Michael Kaiser, he had been subjected to constant teasing and embarrassment about his feline characteristics whenever they crossed paths in the hallways, cafeteria, locker rooms, bathrooms, or during trainings and matches.
Sometimes, Michael would tug on his tail to get his attention, and on occasion, he would touch his ears without consent, causing Isagi to jump and his tail to stand on end as a threat.
Once, Ness had told him that Kaiser had lost his ears and tail at the age of 16 with an older woman who always came to see him after training, possibly a friend of his mother's. Suddenly, one day he appeared without his precious blond ears and long curly tail of the same color.
Alexis said that at that time, Kaiser looked like a lion.
To say that Isagi felt bitterness in his stomach upon hearing this was an understatement. He didn't want to be aware that he was actually jealous.
Jealous?
Why?
Because he wasn't Michael Kaiser's first time.
Apparently, trying to ignore his feelings would only become harder and harder.
"When do you plan on losing your ears and tail, Yoichi?"
"It's none of your business, idiot."
"Are you always this aggressive?" Kaiser sat next to him as they took a short break after a practice match.
"I really don't think you care whether I keep my ears and tail to myself or not, do you?" Isagi sharpened his gaze, and his pupils contracted like a cat's while his tail moved from side to side.
"Don't get defensive." Kaiser didn't care and reached both hands towards Isagi's feline ears, stroking them with enthusiasm. "They feel pretty soft to the touch."
"What are you doing...?" Yoichi blushed and started getting nervous, trying to get up from the bench, but the German held him in place while roughly grabbing his face and bringing it closer to his own. "I think it's time for someone to take away these beautiful ears and tail, Yoichi."
What was that conceited guy talking about? Was he really offering to be his first time? Was he proposing to have sex?
Isagi was overwhelmed, feeling like his heart was about to burst at any moment.
"Just tell me yes." Kaiser whispered near his lips. "I know you like me." His words sounded confident. "And I really like you too."
It was too much.
The emotions were too much for Isagi.
And Michael wouldn't stop talking, "You have pretty ears, a pretty tail, pretty eyes, everything about you is pretty." Yoichi saw him genuinely smile for the first time since they met, and he wasn't sure how to react or what to say in that moment. "Except for your personality."
And all the magic between them disappeared with that last sentence. Isagi slapped his hand and quickly got up with a completely red face. "You're a huge jerk!"
Kaiser laughed and watched as his future, little lover walked away fuming while his ruffled tail moved from side to side.
At least he confirmed that Yoichi was not indifferent to his feelings.
