Is it weird if Gojo wants to shower Ieiri with every kind of affections? Of course not. But they’re in an awkward position at their office. They work at an advertisement company. They’re friends but they’re also rivals because their department hate each other. Gojo belongs to finance department under Mei Mei and Ieiri belongs to creative department under Nanami.
Every time there is a meeting for all department, finance and creative always bicker with each other. They never get along in every occasion. Not only their bosses but all members of their department always squabble every time they meet. This is not work on Gojo and Ieiri. They’ve been friends ever since high school and when they join the company, they couldn’t fathom the logic behind finance and creative department’s dispute. Everyone tried to influence them but it always failed badly. Gojo and Ieiri still hang out when they have lunch break, they help each other when their workloads are too much, they're also going home together when their time matches.
But, there is something that their colleagues didn’t know about. It’s their true relationship, Gojo and Ieiri hide it from public that they’re actually a couple and they’ve been living together since college. When they applied their CV to JJK Adv. (their current company), they never imagined that they both will be accepted at the same time. Gojo was the one who got his acceptance letter from JJK Adv. first, Ieiri followed him couple days later. She also got offering from Macross Adv. But, she declined it because she wanted to stay at the same company with Gojo.
“Satoru, they will find out about our relationship soon if you keep dragging me to the emergency staircase.”
“I don’t care, Sho. Pretending to be your friend Is a setback to our relationship and to make it worse, our department squabble is nowhere near end. I want to kiss you freely in front of everyone. I want to hug you too. I want to help you when Nanami-san is being harsh on you. I want to do that all.”
“Why does this sound like an adolescent tantrum to me? Satoru, we also did this back in college, this isn’t something new to us, right?”
“But, we promise to reveal it once we work and now here we are still concealing our relationship.”
“I want to reveal it too but the condition isn’t good, imagine their reaction to our revelation? Are you sure you can handle the burden?”
“No..”
“Then let’s stay like this and if we find a perfect timing to tell everyone, then we can disclose it to them.”
“Okay.. I’m sorry for yelling at you, Sho.”
“Mm, it’s fine. Come here.”
Ieiri opens her arms widely, Gojo snuggles himself to her. He still wishes that he can do this every day out in the open without hiding from everyone. But, he wants to respect Ieiri’s decision. Before part way, Gojo plants a kiss on Ieiri’s lips, he needs his kiss portion of the day, to charge his energy before going back to work again. He asked Ieiri beforehand at their first day as couple.
“I need to kiss you at the minimum 4 times a day, Sho.”
“You’re insane.”
“That’s a bare minimum, you know. I want to say 6 at first but I lowered it down to 4.”
“You will nag to me if I don’t say yes, right?”
“Of course!”
“Okay then.”
When Ieiri went back to her seat after giving her design to the print department and her youngest colleagues, Kugisaki Nobara suddenly asks her. “Shoko-san, why did you have lipstick stain on your cheek?”
“Oh, must be when I went out to eat. Thank you for telling me this, Nobara.”
“You’re welcome, Shoko-san.”
Gojo, you really are a beast. Ieiri cursed her boyfriend under her breath.
Gojo and Ieiri are going for a date today, since it’s Saturday. Luckily JJK Adv. is having a strict policy about working overtime on Saturday and Sunday, it's prohibited, so Gojo and Ieiri have time to be together on weekend. Today they will go watch movie in cinema, groceries shopping, and have a dinner outside. Gojo picks the movie this time because Ieiri chose it on the last time they went to cinema. They go for horror movie today. It’s been a while since they saw horror. But, before they could see their movie, Gojo and Ieiri saw something terrifying than the movie. They accidentally met with Nanami and Mei Mei at the cinema, they were holding hands while holding a big bucket of popcorn.
“Nanami-san? Mei-san?”
“Hi, Shoko-chan. See, Kento. I told you they are not just a friend.” Mei Mei nudges Nanami’s side and Nanami sighs.
“What is the meaning of this scene, Mei-san?”
“A date, obviously, Satoru-kun.”
“Let’s talk after the movie, you two are going to watch this horror movie, right?” This time Nanami is the one who questioning Gojo and Ieiri.
“Yes.”
The movie duration feels like forever to Gojo and Ieiri. They’re both scared and curious about their bosses. They kept glancing to where Nanami and Mei Mei sat. Luckily, they chose different row from them so Gojo and Ieiri could spy on them. When the credit scene appeared on screen, Gojo and Ieiri hurriedly stand up and walk to the exit door. Nanami and Mei Mei watch them while laughing because Gojo and Ieiri look really cute.
“Let’s go to the nearest café and we’ll tell you.”
“Roger that, sir.”
Gojo holds Ieiri’s hand tight, a little bit nervous with this situation. “It’s okay, they won’t bite us.” Ieiri pats Gojo's hand lightly.
They find a café neat the cinema and order some drinks to accompany their conversation. Mei Mei is the one who starts the talk.
“So, you two are dating right?”
“Yes, Mei-san. We are.” Gojo answers her with confident in his tone.
“You owe me some cash, baby.” Mei Mei pinches Nanami’s cheek.
Ieiri gulps, “I’m sorry for asking but Nanami-san and Mei-san are also dating right?”
“We’re married, Shoko-chan.” Nanami shows her his necklace with a ring in it.
“Wait, what?” This fact brings a shock to Gojo and Ieiri.
“Hahaha, the quarrel at the office is just a façade to keep us stay professional with each other. Everyone knows this fact, except you two, our newest addition.”
“But, why? You can shower her with affection instead of hatred, Nanami-san.” Gojo throws protest to the older one.
“That’s the thrill, Satoru-kun. You think we didn’t know about your secret rendezvous?” Mei Mei smiles slyly to Gojo and Ieiri.
“We won’t get angry if you two reveal your relationship, after all it’s your decision to make. So, Satoru-kun, Shoko-chan.. just be yourself. But, do it moderately at the office. I don’t want to see Shoko-chan get distracted by you, Satoru-kun.”
“So, we don’t have to hide it anymore, Nanami-san?”
“Yes.”
Gojo and Ieiri take a glance to each other and laugh, all this time they’re trying to conceal it because they don’t want their colleagues to feel awkward with their relationship when in fact, they’re already knew about it. Also, the secret behind Nanami and Mei Mei quarrel at the office is just one kind of their fetish and somehow everyone is influenced by this.
Gojo and Ieiri waves their hands to Nanami and Mei Mei to say goodbye to the couple. Gojo and Ieiri will continue their date which they had to paused it for a bit because of their bosses.
“We don’t have to stay incognito from Monday right?”
“I think so.”
“Yes! I can kiss you freely! No more emergency staircase!” Gojo jumps happily.
“Are you really that happy?”
“Of course, I am. I can show them Ieiri Shoko’s greatest boyfriend.”
“You really need to cut your narcissistic remarks, Satoru.”
“But, you still love me the way I am, right Sho?”
“Sadly, yes.”
Gojo’s lips forms a curve line and his hands cup Ieiri’s face. He kisses her affectionately. In his mind, he already imagines variations of the reactions from their colleagues and he can’t wait to see them all.
