The Cobra Kai guys (+Daniel) are sitting in Tommy's house. Daniel feels really awkward because like, why is he even here right now? he's surrounded by the whole ass skittle squad. No one's saying anything. They're all just sitting there doing their own thing. Daniel didn't originally think that's how normal hangouts usually go. It's whatever. Daniel's like, never had a friend group in his life so he wouldn't know anyway. So, He sits there and waits for something to happen.
Dutch looks around the room. "Yall, I need to find true love." He tells them.
For a moment , the guys all look at each other and then back at Dutch.
"Sure, buddy…" Jimmy says, grimacing.
"I literally am, bro. I'm gonna be so in love. I'm gonna have a super ultra mega loving teenage romance!" Dutch puts his hands on his hips and glares at Jimmy.
"..I wanna go home.." Daniel mumbles. Johnny stares at him. Daniel lowers his head, side eyeing him.
The guys all start staring at whatever besides each other. Except for Johnny. he's still staring at Daniel. Dutch stares off into space and Jimmy whips out gummy worms outta nowhere and starts eating. Tommy yawns. Bobby is laying flat on the floor and stares at the ceiling. Daniel wonders if this is how all of their hangouts go. they just say random shit at random times and then zone out.
Dutch suddenly stands up. He glares at everyone. "Goodbye, guys. I'm gonna go find someone to be in love with and I'm gonna forget ALL about you guys because I'm so happy. And then you'll all miss me and I'll be like NO I'M NOT COMING BACK I'M IN LOVE!!!!!!!" He says to everyone.
Bobby shakes his head in disappointment as Dutch leaves the house.
Once again, they all are sitting there in silence, bored out of their minds. Daniel looks around at everyone and frowns. Why are they like this? Why can't they be normal good god. He starts to bite his thumb nail out of boredom, watching to see if anyone finally does anything.
After like, five more minutes, Tommy sits up straight and pulls fifteen dollars out of his pocket.
"Who wants to bet on if Dutch actually gets a boyfriend or whatever? I bet fifteen he won't." He says, grinning.
This seems to cause everyone (-Daniel) to get all excited and start pulling out money out of nowhere. Is this what rich people do all the time? Daniel just sits there with no money because he's butt booty broke. He's got exactly three cents to his name, and he doesn't really want to use it for betting. He'll use it for… Something else. Maybe he'll buy a vacuum.
The rest of the day goes on as normal. Random shit happens that doesn't really make any sense and everyone proves just how stupid they are over and over again. Daniel watches all this and really just wants to go home, but he also forgot how to get there from Encino. Everyone's at the park right now, doing whatever.
Johnny walks over to Daniel while the other guys decide to roll around and wrestle in the grass. At first they were playing soccer, but it kind of just transformed into whatever this is.
“Hey Larusso, y'know how Dutch is gonna find true love or whatever?” Johnny asks. He's practically staring into Daniel's soul. someone should get him brown contacts for real.
“Uhm.. Yeah, sure. what about it?” Daniel looks at Johnny.
“You should also find true love. You're a sad and lonely man.”
Daniel shakes his head. “..No I'm not. I have Ali.”
“No you don't. You're a boykisser.” Johnny says. “Like Dutch.” He puts his hands on his hips. “Don't be Dutch's true love, though. That would be terrible.” He adds. Just to make sure.
The two just look at each other for a moment before Daniel sighs and looks at the ground. Johnny stares at whatever Daniel's staring at.
“I should find true love too..” Daniel mutters to himself,raising his eyebrows.
Maybe the Cobras’ spacing-out-for-a-few-minutes-thingy actually works. Who knew they actually thought.
Daniel walks off into the sunset in search of true love.
Johnny frowns.
Dutch and Jimmy decide to wander off into the woods. It was Dutch's idea to just get him and Jimmy alone so he could either talk to him or just walk with him. Either works, but Dutch decides on the talking option. He turns to Jimmy, who is busy staring at one of them fuzzy caterpillars. Dutch kicks him to get his attention.
“Jimmy, why don't you think I can find true love?” Dutch questions.
Jimmy stares at him blankly and pulls a bag of gummies from his pocket, shoving a few in his mouth.
“Jimmy! Don't avoid the question by eating!”
Jimmy stands up dramatically. He clenches his fists, which is a bit painful due to his super amazing and expensive customized nails.
“Bro… it's because… I'm your true love…” Jimmy says.
Dutch gasps, shedding a singular tear. “Bro…..? Dude…? we're in love…?” He looks at Jimmy with wide eyes.
“Yes…” Jimmy answers.
"Weird. But okay.”
Jimmy frowns.
After walking off into the sunset in search of true love, Daniel happens to become bored. How is someone supposed to find true love? It's hard.
Daniel glances around his surroundings, realizing that he has no idea where he is right now. He has no idea how to get back to the other guys, though he's only been walking in one direction and if he just turned around he'll eventually find his way.
“Holy shit, I'm lost. That's crazy.” Daniel whispers to himself.
Daniel looks at his surroundings again, but more thoroughly. He's literally in Tommy's backyard. How did he not realize that? Is he stupid?
He is stupid. He's a dumb little stupid little dumb dumb. He'll never find true love at this point.
Daniel starts walking again. He climbs Tommy's fence and leaves the yard before some rich person spots him and mistakes him for a dog again. He decides to just run until his legs feel like falling off, which surprisingly takes longer than he thought.
This time he finds himself on Johnny's roof. Maybe this is a sign.
Daniel uses his super amazing telekinetic tracking powers and finds his way back to Johnny in a matter of 4 minutes.
Johnny stares at Daniel. “I just lost 200 dollars.” He says blankly.
“Johnny, I don't care. I need to tell you something really important,” He pauses, thinking of what he's going to say and how to word it, “I…. Uh… uhm. uh….. erm… I am madly in love with you.” Daniel tells him.
Johnny just blinks at him.
He pauses for a long time and Daniel gets nervous.
Daniel sweats.
Suddenly the other Cobra Kais appear out of nowhere.
“Hey LaRusso, did you know Dutch found his true love and it's Jimmy?” Tommy asks. He grins like he didn't so obviously interrupt a very big moment.
“That's disgusting.” Daniel replies flatly.
Johnny looks at the ground and kicks the dirt, now waiting for the other Cobras to leave.
“So anyways, Me, Bobby, and Johnny owe Tommy and Jimmy like,,, 800 dollars because we bet that he wouldn't and stuff!! I'm in debt now! isn't that crazy?” Tommy continues to ramble about whatever the fuck is on his mind until he gets distracted and stops talking. Daniel and Johnny stand next to each other awkwardly while the other Cobras are yapping and saying shit to Tommy about whatever he's saying.
Johnny takes Daniel's hand and holds it.
