Work Text:
The past week had been.. rough for Yujin, to say the least. With the Hogwarts quidditch finals match taking place next week, her Gryffindor team against the Ravenclaws, there had been an endless stream of practices. And even though she was the captain, the person scheduling the practices in the first place, she wasn’t immune to the physical and mental fatigue that resulted from hours out in the field. Rain, wind, or shine, the Gryffindors would practice for at least 2 or 3 hours a day, either before school hours or after. (The ones early in the morning were particularly difficult for Yujin; she was never a morning person.)
Thankfully, her team had been easy to lead throughout the whole semester. More than ever, Yujin could feel their individual styles gelling together, each play and pass becoming more seamless than the next. Morale was high and things were looking up, especially from the start of the school year. Wonyoung would often credit her for that, but Yujin just thought she was trying to be a supportive girlfriend. Still, it was very appreciated.
And yet. The physical toll on her body was extraordinary. The last time she had trained so hard was the summer after her 6th year, when she had briefly trained with the Holyhead Harpies. Sometimes the only thing that would keep Yujin pushing with a smile on her face was the idea of a much deserved evening with Wonyoung.
Her girlfriend had been so supportive through it all. Sure, she’d playfully pout after being rejected by (a very sorry) Yujin for dinner or breakfast together, and she definitely didn’t take a liking to.. some consequences of Yujin’s increased popularity at school (namely the flock of giggling underclassmen that would watch as a brave soul went up to Yujin—yes, even when she was so clearly occupied with Wonyoung!—to wish her luck for the game). But she was supportive in her own way. It was the little things, such as when she’d somehow manage to grab seconds of dessert to give to Yujin after late night practices, how she’d coolly respond (much more cleverly than anything Yujin could come up with) when some students betting on Ravenclaw’s victory would taunt Yujin in the hallways, how she’d come out wherever she could to watch the practices or be there to walk back with her to the castle despite her own extremely busy schedule.
And most of all, the massages . Yujin more than appreciated those. She swore, Wonyoung had hands of magic. So soft and uncalloused and unlike her own, yet so strong. And so, when Wonyoung sent her off to practice after dinner with a chaste kiss on the lips and the whisper, “If you practice extra hard tonight I might reward you with a massage.. Or more”, Yujin promptly made her way to the field, more determined than ever to get the most productivity out of today’s session.
“Nice job today,” Yujin panted as the team formed a circle after hopping off their broomsticks. “Jungwon, make sure to keep an eye behind you for when the rest of us signal, we want a fast victory.”
“Got it.”
“And Eunseok, keep your swing smaller when you’re within 4 feet of us. Please.”
“Got it,” the boy mumbled sheepishly, the chaser next to him still rubbing at a very sore arm.
“That’s about it for today,” Yujin continued. “Be here, same time tomorrow. Rest up tonight and try getting some sleep. Can’t have you falling asleep mid air.”
“ You make sure to sleep too Cap,” Jungwon jibed, elbowing her and nodding behind Yujin’s direction.
Yujin turned around, feeling a familiar and pleasant jolt in her stomach at the sight of Wonyoung walking to the pitch. Their eyes met and Wonyoung smiled, waving at her with a free hand. The other hand was clutching a large bag to her side.
“Hi, Wonyoung!” The rest of the team called. While Wonyoung intimidated nearly all of the campus with her stunning looks and slightly shy demeanor, the Gryffindor team had long been used to her presence at practices. Yujin was proud to say her girlfriend had become something of a quidditch expert herself in the meantime.
“Hi everyone,” Wonyoung said, once she was within earshot. She smiled at Yujin, dangling the bag in front of her. “I brought some sweets from Honeydukes for you all.”
The team cheered and huddled around her, happily taking squares of coconut ice and nougat into their hungry mouths.
“Mm , this tastes heavenly,” Jungwon groaned. Everyone either nodded or spoke through heaps of flaky bread and powdered sugar, “Thank you!”
“No problem,” Wonyoung giggled. “Yujinnie's not being too hard on you, is she?”
“No, Yujinnie wasn’t too harsh today. I’m just losing feeling in one of my arms this time,” Yuri, a fellow chaser, drawled.
“Hey,” Yujin protested. “It’s nearly finals, we have to make the most of our practices. Which are becoming hard to schedule, with the other teams booking their tryouts, I swear Mino put them up to it—"
The mention of Mino, the cunning and slightly problematic Ravenclaw team captain and his methods of interfering with the Gryffindor training catapulted another full blown conversation between the team.
Yujin smiled as she felt two arms encircling her waist from behind.
“Thank you for the sweets,” she murmured, reaching back with a hand to pat Wonyoung gently on the head.
“Mm.” was all Wonyoung responded with. She nuzzled closer into Yujin’s neck with closed eyes and a content smile. She was so cute at that moment and Yujin fought the urge to do something more embarrassing like kiss her or squish her cheek.
A few more moments of conversation between the team passed before Yujin, Wonyoung, and the rest of the students began walking back to the castle. And once they had reached the intersection ahead of the Great Hall, Yujin and Wonyoung said their goodbyes to the rest of the Gryffindors, their destination being opposite in direction and toward the Slytherin commons. (Something the rest of the team made sure to point out multiple times, Yujin growing more and more flustered with each suggestive comment. Her girlfriend merely laughed but her ears flushed scarlet red.)
After the two crossed through the Slytherin commons, Wonyoung opened the door and led her into the empty dormitory room.
“Where are your roommates?”
“They’re still studying in the library,” Wonyoung replied as she removed her shoes, gesturing for Yujin to do the same.
“... Where you’d be right now if it weren’t for me,” Yujin said, a slight frown on her face at the thought. “It couldn’t have been easy to walk to Honeydukes…”
“Hmm. Think of this like a study break. You don’t want me to get burned out do you?” Wonyoung, a slight pout on her pretty face.
“I guess I don’t.” Yujin gingerly took off her shoes, approaching the bed but not going on it. “Babe, I smell like a wet rag,” she said flatly.
“And I smell like dusty library books,” Wonyoung replied, laying gingerly on one side of the bed. “But I miss you so I’ll ignore both of our stenches for today. Come here.”
How could Yujin say no to that? She laid next to Wonyoung, laughing as the other girl immediately (and predictably) tucked her head under Yujin’s chin. Wonyoung pecked her cheek and let her arm fall on Yujin’s stomach, drawing soothing circles.
“That feels nice,” Yujin mumbled, letting her eyes fall shut. They laid there silently for a moment, the only sound being that of their slight movements and slow breathing.
“You did great today, Jinnie.”
“You didn’t see me today though?” Yujin teased.
“I don’t need to be there to know you did great,” Wonyoung said. “And I can just see it from looking at the team. They trust you and look up to you. I’m proud of you.”
“Mm. Thank you, that means a lot.”
“Mhm. Are you still up for that massage?”
Yujin’s eyes shot open, having forgotten about Wonyoung’s promise from earlier. “Yes, please!”
Wonyoung pat her stomach with a, “Turn over, champ,“ and Yujin sat up to oblige.
“Wait—why don’t you just take these off,” Wonyoung suggested, tugging at her quidditch robes. “They’ll just get in the way.”
So with a slight smirk, Yujin let Wonyoung remove her clothing, taking note of the other girl’s brown eyes lingering on her chest and abdomen.
She laid down on her stomach, her curiosity piqued as she sensed Wonyoung reaching over to her bedside drawer and pulling something out. She heard the faint sound of a bottle being opened and then closed.
“What are you—oh, that feels good,” Yujin groaned. Wonyoung had apparently poured some massage oil onto her hands before applying pressure onto her back. The room now smelled like vanilla and almond and a spice that Yujin couldn’t quite put her finger on. She groaned appreciatively as Wonyoung continued her work, digging into her back with the heels of her hands and working out all the knots she’d developed from looking down at her textbooks or overexerting herself on the pitch.
By the time Wonyoung had worked her way down to her waist, Yujin was completely and utterly relaxed. It felt as though every bit of tension and strain in her body from the past week was gone.
“'nyoung, you’re so good at this,” Yujin sighed. First it was getting the Honeydukes for everyone, and now this? And somehow, in the midst of being the most supportive girlfriend, Wonyoung was still a top student with a good social life too? She was dating Wonder Woman.
“Good at massaging?” Wonyoung asked, turning Yujin over.
Their eyes met and Yujin replied, “Good at everything. You’re the best girlfriend ever.”
“I’m your only girlfriend ever,” Wonyoung rolled her eyes, though there was a small smile on her lips.
“Eh, first official one, there were a few girls on the team from last—” Yujin was interrupted by a pinch to her side. “Okay, okay just kidding. Maybe,” she teased.
“Now is not the time to get me angry,” Wonyoung teased back. She had moved over to straddle the Gryffindor, resting her hands on Yujin’s stomach. “You’re at my mercy!”
“I’m just letting you think that,” Yujin grinned, running her hands along Wonyoung’s waist. “Are you done with the massage?”
“Yeah, unless you’re sore somewhere else?”
Yujin responded with a sly smile and murmured, “Oh, I have other places in mind alright,” before tugging her down into a kiss. “But first, it’s my turn to massage you .”
