The sounds of wheels slowly churning against the rails that guided their path filled the carriage with a soothing sort of rustle, yet that sound only served as a backing to what Akari was paying more attention to; the soft sounds of her wife’s gentle breathing while she rested against her shoulder.
A dribble of saliva had begun to fester up around Mai’s lips as she was relaxed enough with her love and the surroundings to allow herself to let her guard down while she slept. Akari couldn’t help but feel an urge to sweetly wipe the drool from Mai’s chin which in turn had led to her eyes fluttering open by her touch.
Akari felt a small wave of guilt for waking Mai from her mild slumber, although it was subtilised slightly by the way that the other woman’s smile didn’t falter in the slightest looking back to her wife.
Mai raised her arms above her head to stretch, an equally adoring smile making its way onto Akari’s face as she watched the way her wife moved with loving gaze. “I had a nice nap, are we almost there..?” Mai asked her spouse in a half yawn.
Akari turned her attention out to the serene view beyond the window, staring for a moment in attempts to gauge where they were. “Yeah, I think we are…” she looked back at the other woman after speaking in a soft mumble, beginning to chuckle slightly before speaking again. Something about her smile always seemed to make her chuckle, they were married after all.
“You still seem hungry… I think we should go grab some food once we arrive.”
