I can't get over his dark curls

Summary:

"Knowing all your quick remarks
Like kissing him in secrecy," and with these two lines, I know for sure. It can't be about anyone else.

~ Excerpt from Ch26

An Heartstopper AU where Charlie left the party, where they shared their first kiss when Nick left him alone. In that night, he had a really bad relapse. After that, they never saw each other again. Never hung out again. But now, they're both at Leeds and their paths cross again. It might've been five years, but the affection stayed the same. It takes them not even a week to connect again.

(On hiatus because mental health, not abandoned, I promise)

Chapter 1: Prehistory

Chapter Text

Charlie hates him. That one night, back in secondary school. Harry had thrown a party. He kissed Nick but then Nick ran away. It has been a shitty night after that. He’s cutted himself that deep, that his parents had to call 911. He almost killed himself with that. He wishes he had.

After he was out of life danger, he got hospitalised. Probably for his best. But even after all the things that happened in the past, he still doesn’t get rid of his crush on Nick. To be honest, the feelings got even deeper after the kiss. It was just pure perfection. He kissed Ben before but it never felt this way like it did with Nick.

Nick. Now, five years later, he’s changed universities to Leeds, because Ben stalked him the whole year in Manchester. He's studying English literature to become a writer one day and he's sure he’ll never ever see the Rugby King Nicholas Luke Nelson again. Little did he know, that Nick's studying here, he never ever would've changed to here.

Nick hates Charlie. He didn’t even give him a chance to figure himself out. Charlie was his bisexual awakening, he knows for sure. But back then, when they kissed, Nick was so so scared that he ran away. But when he came back, Charlie was gone.

He promised himself to talk with Charlie on Monday in Form. But Charlie didn’t show up. Nor Tuesday, the whole week. In fact, until after the fall break he didn’t. Now, five years later, the bisexual rugby king’s out and studying second year at Leeds University. It got him into teaching. He hates Charlie with every single fibre of his body for disappearing but even though he still wants him. He's still in love with him. The dark curls, the pretty eyes, the dimples, him being dorky and the perfect lips he wants to taste forever. He loves everything about him. It’s been five years but when he sees him again, he knows he’s grown up and ready to fight for the love of his life. What'd Tara and Darcy say if they'd know about the box under his bed.

Every single article he sees about Charlie and his band the straightest boyband ever is in it. He can't deny that he loves. Everytime he sees the name, he chuckles. It's too funny because they're more girls than boys and George, Sahar, Soph, Charlie and Rhea aren't straight. Soph's a lesbian, George's pan, Rhea and Sahar are bi and Charlie's gay. They're kind of famous but the band doesn't say famous, they always say well-known. They are modest.
