December 2013.
It may have been over 15 years since the battle of Hogwarts, but Severus Snape was still suspicious of the intentions of others. So, when he walked from his chambers in the early morning a few days before Christmas, to a box of cookies sitting in the hall by his door, he was suspicious but so very curious.
It had been over 15 years since he received cookies like these from anyone, the Christmas before the battle of Hogwarts in fact. Warm soft peanut butter, his guilty pleasure and he could never figure out just who had left them for him. Just a beautiful black raven with an intelligent gleam in her eye and a warmth to her that made Severus wish she was human.

Hermione never understood the ways of the Castle, but as she packaged up the peanut butter cookies that she knew were Severus favorite she felt the Castle hum as a warmth spread through her. She closed her eyes basking in the feeling flood through her body, it felt like coming home. Transforming into her raven she flew out the door with the package lightened and the ribbons in her beak.
