Nebula had a small smile on its face as it handed Nova its old star earring. "I'm unable to wear this anymore, due to my torn ears, so I thought you should have it. It doesn't help that I lost the other one."
Nova looked at the earring and grabbed it. "Thanks." He smiled softly, it was the first time he had smiled in a while. The smile was washed off of his face when he noticed where the sun was in the sky. "I have to get going now, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yeah! I have to go check on one of my friends, he's been acting weird and I wanna check on him. I'll find you after I check on him." Nebula grinned. "Bye bye Nova!"
"Bye Neb." Nova replied, watching the cat-like creature wave to him before bouncing away, running on what would be all four to get to wherever it was going faster. His friend was weird, but they made him happy.
It was something that he needed.
And it was something he would soon miss.
