In the barren space, she didn't move, she was frozen in shock and despair, not wanting to believe what happened. Her chest heaved and jerked at the sight below her, staring at the blood dripping from her hands as the body grew cold, blood crept from around it. I failed. She thought to herself, vision growing blurry before she blinked away tears. If she couldn't keep her only friend alive, what use was she to anyone?
I will never let this happen again. She thought angrily at herself, her stained hands tightening into fists, the blood slick between her fingers. As long as I can survive in this world, I will never let anyone die at the fault of me again.
Fremder stayed by her friend's side for what felt like hours, but could've been mere moments before she stood up. She dragged her friend's body to a shallow grave and buried her. Fremder took her friend's blade from her own pocket, the blade that was used so many times to save their lives, but in the end it couldn't help the one who wielded it. She gripped the dagger, grief surging through her, before stabbing it into the tree next to the grave. A vow began to form in her mind, of healing, of shielding. She drew her own blade even as her arms shook from tension. I will devote my life to protecting and healing others, no matter how long it takes, I will do anything it takes to help others. I will never harm another person as long as I live, I will never inflict pain upon others. She closed her eyes as the rain begin to fall from the darkening sky above her, distracting herself from the steel on her skin. I want to be able to close any wound, to mend any bones, no matter what...
