“Oh.”
A pang of guilt shoots through Lexy’s chest as she stares at Grant in his silly black Halloween outfit– which she really thought was quite perfect for him. Suddenly, her perception of the boy shatters like a chandelier crashing to the floor.
“Yeah, I, uh… you know .Don’t really think of sex. If you know what I mean. Never really have… I-I thought we could maybe just watch a movie instead.”
His stammering makes it really hard for Lexy to refuse the offer. Fuck. Lexy’s entire scheme of taking him to bed to extort him has completely flown out the window and maybe she thinks it’s not as bad. Actually, this is way better. Way, way better.
Grant and Lexy both sit up from where they were laying on the bed and take a moment to look at each other. If it weren’t for the situation with Chucky, Lexy could’ve actually enjoyed her time here- in a casual way. But the underlying anxiety of a murderous doll running around below them tugs at her heart with a painful bubumb and for a split second flashes of Nadine spike her mind. Maybe, if for a moment, she could unwind. Jake and Devon could investigate without her and if they needed her, they’ll call. Yeah, they can handle themselves.
“Sure, no problem. How about Halloween?”
