Having a tooth knocked out had hurt badly enough but now letting Addison inspect the tooth and the gum it had broken away from hurt worse.
“Sorry…”
Addison apologizes softly, moving to gently numb Laura’s gum and ease the tooth back into place, careful as she set it into place. She knew it had to hurt. Laura is still as she waits for the tooth to set into place, her eyes closing at the softness of Addison’s touch against her cheek. Later, much later, she would admit what happened, letting Addison see how much she really needed her to stay.
