Work Text:
In the original storyline, Vacher was the mastermind behind the serial disappearances case after the “death” of his lover, Vigneire. He’d take the alias Marcel, the name of his would-be child. Vigneire loved that name and kept it in her diary.
In a futile attempt to revive her, Vacher would go on to target over 20 women, dissolving them in hopes of finding a way to revive someone dissolved by the Primordial Sea.
His efforts are stopped thanks to the efforts of Navia, the Traveler, Spina di Rosula, Clorinde, and ironically, Childe. He’s put on trial, confronted with sufficient evidence and declared guilty by the court of Fontaine.
He and Vigneire do “reunite” in a twisted sense of the word. The consciousnesses of his victims became a single entity and enacted their revenge on him for ruining their lives and those that they cherished.
The accumulation of their rage, hatred, animosity, it all boiled over in 2 simple words.
Vacher, drown.
Murderers are never forgiven, that’s what Fontaine had proven.
But…
“Vacher”, I call out to him.
“Who are you?” He replied, dazed.
What if I stopped him from being a serial killer?
