Chapter Text
Ever since Batman has met Shrek, he was love struck the moment he laid his eyes upon the lime green ogre. He liked the quirky charms of his appearance, his antennas, his sexy body and his smoochable lips. Though, he noticed the ogre has been fatigue and sick since these past few weeks.
This made him worry about Shrek's health. He decided to visit the swamp to check up on him. He knows that Shrek hates people coming into his swamp but he has to! He has to know if he is okay. Batman knocks on the door,his anxiety rising.
The door creaks...
"Who's there?.." A scottish accent enters in his ears... It's Shrek! Batman has a smile creeping on his face, he immediately replied "Shrek..I know you hate people coming into your swamp without permission but...I have to ask you." He paused before continuing- "Are you okay? You've been looking sick."
"It's nothing.." Shrek slams the door shut, leaving Batman outside. He lowers his head in dissapointment, he made Shrek avoid him. Batman frowns and walks away and hopes that Shrek opens up to him next time.

More weeks has passed, Shrek has met Batman a few times here and there but they didn't talk to eachother. Usually, they'd share eye contacts but if Batman is lucky- He'd recieve a wave from the ogre.
Shrek's stomach has been looking like it grew in size, the ogre has been acting moody and grouchy and he was more emotional than before. Batman has been watching him from afar, keeping his distance. He knew Shrek is avoiding him but..He can't accept it. Why? Why is his potential lover staying away from him?
He can't believe it. He doesn't understand. Batman felt like his heart is gonna break if all the interaction he gets from Shrek is small and short. He wants more,he wants affection.. Oh to be close to his future lover.
Batman continued watching Shrek from a distance, he kept his eye on him incase somebody tries to hurt him. He dislikes seeing him hurt verbally or physically. Batman watches him in the shadows,hidden from his sight.
Eventually, he builds the courage to speak to him. Day by day, small talk slowly turns into full conversations. They were getting along and enjoyed chitchatting with one another.
Batman invited Shrek over at his Batcave to hang out and have some tea with his dear companion. Alfred has prepared the tea before Shrek arrived.
Shrek was greeted by a table set up for the two, a very special table. It has a neatly lit candle on the center of the round table, there are two cups filled with tea and Batman sitting on the left chair.
Shrek approached the table and sat down, he looks around the place and then turns his attention to Batman. He strikes a conversation with a topic they both understand, something they can relate and something that brings them close.
They drank tea and chatted for a long while, enjoying eachother's company and taking their time to listen to eachother. It was wonderful.
Until...
"Hey Batman..I think i wanna talk about something different." Shrek speaks up, he puts the tea cup down and sighs deeply. "What is it?" Batman tilts his head,an eyebrow raised high than the other. "I..I wanna tell you that i am shreknant.." He says with his head lowering down, he felt ashamed of telling him. Batman gasps in shock, he couldn't believe it! "I-Is that w-why your stomach has been g-growing?" Shrek nodded.
Batman stood up from his seat and walks over to Shrek. He hugs him and caresses his stomach. "Don't worry, i will care for you and the baby." He whispers into his antenna, Shrek blushed. "Thank you,Batman.." The ogre gave the Batman a soft smile. Batman place a hand on his cheek and leans, closing their distance for a chaste kiss. Shrek kisses back and blushes crimson.
He pulls away and presses his forehead against Shrek's. "I love you." He says. "I love you too." Shrek responded and they both exchange smiles.
