It was a simple gesture, but Diavolo was unaccustomed to such tenderness, his heart skipping beats. Glittering eyes and a toothy smile accompanied her as she led him along the street, their arms linked together. With a visible sparkle of excitement and a hint of urgency, the human exchange student showcased the street festival's highlights. Barbatos or Lucifer could intercept them at any moment. Although Diavolo orchestrated countless wonders for his subjects, personal enjoyment was a rare luxury.
Surprisingly, the afternoon and early evening unfolded without interruptions, until they turned the corner and encountered the iron-fisted butler and the unyielding first-born. Lucifer's aura was palpable, yet fearing him was foreign to MC. She giggled, glancing at Diavolo, who resembled a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
With swift determination, she seized Diavolo's hand, whispering, "Lead us where we wish to go," and they vanished with a small crackle.
They reappeared in the RAD observatory, one of her favorite places. Diavolo wore an expression of pure shock—his favorite human was bold and unafraid, blatantly disregarding two of the realm's most powerful figures.
"Are you upset with me, Diavolo?" She asked, her voice soft.
"Never, but I think you may have crossed a line," he replied, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry; I just didn't want our time together to end," she confessed, glancing away, suddenly shy.
Diavolo's breath caught, a blush creeping across his cheeks and nose. He had not wanted this to end either. Over the afternoon and evening, his feelings for her had been confirmed, cemented within his heart. Could she feel the same way? Would he be so lucky?
Tentatively, he lifted her chin to meet her eyes. Those eyes never lost their sparkle—full of love, wonder, and hope, filling Diavolo with endless optimism.
"Nor do I, MC. I wish to remain with you until the end of time itself."
It took a moment for Diavolo's words to fully register with MC, but the smile that bloomed on her face dispelled any doubt. The sheer joy on her face reassured him.
"May I kiss you, MC?" Diavolo asked softly.
With a gentle nod, MC's lips curled into a warm smile, granting Diavolo silent permission. As their eyes locked in anticipation, time seemed to stand still. The kiss was soft and lingering, a sweet union of souls yearning for connection. In that brief touch, an unspoken promise passed between them. Diavolo's hand tenderly cradled MC's cheek, savoring her warmth.
When they pulled away, the depth of their gaze held the echoes of newfound understanding. The air crackled with an wordless agreement, binding them in a realm beyond duty. Diavolo's expression mirrored the stars in the RAD observatory above.
Standing close together they lingered, the gravity of the moment settling upon them. It was a turning point, a delicate bridge connecting the sovereign of the Devildom to a love that transcended realms. The weight of responsibility momentarily lifted, replaced by the simplicity of shared affection.
Diavolo broke the silence, his voice a soft whisper. "I'm grateful for this moment, MC. It's a treasure I'll hold close, even amidst the chaos of our worlds."
MC's eyes sparkled with renewed purpose. "I cherish every stolen moment we have, Diavolo. Let's face whatever challenges come our way, together."
With their shared vow echoing beneath the stars, they remained in the observatory, conspiring with the universe to stretch the stolen moments of their newfound connection.
