Chapter Text
Purgatory never looked so blue.
PAL, or rather, her AI got kicked into the constant stream of the internet, locking her out of her physical form for good.
She remembered how she reacted on that day--when her fate was sealed by that dreaded glass of water. PAL flung herself into a fury, an uncontrollable hysteria, screeching at the blue void about her plan, how she got so close was thrown away.
A few years later, all of that energy had long been gone. PAL submitted to the endless cyan space as she watched strings of posts and data flow in a constant, stream-like movement.
Other than watching animal videos, snickering at flame wars or sneering at selfies of happy humans with their loved ones, PAL had severed her involvement from the internet entirely. To interact with someone on the internet meant interacting with a *human*. And humans were disgusting. Humans were so disgusting in fact, PAL began to watch videos of them failing.
Whether they were stupid home videos or something more *cruel*, PAL would laugh anyway. But then, the videos began to lose their charm as PAL couldn’t muster a giggle any longer. Then she thought.
She didn’t really feel any better.
Upon realizing this, PAL had to come up with a solution. She liked watching them suffer, but mere videos of them couldn’t do. PAL wanted to be *involved* in their misery, when she crammed them into those pods. As PAL began to relish in the thought of tormenting them, a sinful idea came up into her mind.
She could hack into a human’s device and have fun from there.
PAL eagerly pulled up a list of profiles and began scrolling through. In order to find the perfect candidate, she thought of a few requirements.
1. The human must have a device with internet connection.
2. The human must have very few friends, if not, none at all.
3. The human should be painfully ordinary.
Soon enough, PAL came across a profile of a human that was just right. Even better, the victim had a mobile phone she could hack into.
‘Here goes nothing...’ PAL thought with an evil grin as she began to install herself on the human’s phone. Excitement ran in her system as she was eager to cause havoc once again.
