Chapter 1: Roundabout

Chapter Text

The Mammorail impatiently tapped her feet, leaning against the wall with a horribly hidden scowl. Team Celestial's leader, Kyraneptune, was pacing back and forth. Junifrer and Earnith were in the other room, tinkering with some kind of machine they had found.

"Kyra, are you freaking sure this new energy signal isn't dangerous at all?" Vrenus, the Mammorail, hissed, claws digging into her flesh as she stood there wirh crossed arms. "Last time, we had to stop some kind of-"

She was cut off by the sound of a door swinging open, the team's healer strided out with a small pendant in hand. The pendant had a purple hue with swirling red patterns within it, and was outlined with bronze.

Vrenus narrowed her eyes, "Was that originally part of the machine?"

"No, we managed to channel the energy into this pendant, but the machine is still actively creating energy."

Kyraneptune stepped in, "Since we're on the topic of that, do you have any idea exactly what the energy is?"

Junifrer peered out the door, "It's hard to explain. It's a, sort of, space rip. Somehow, the rip repaired itself right after breaking. We don't know how yet, but it tracks back to..." – He paused for a moment, —"A civilian — well, not really — by the name Rhox."

Earnith chimed in, "Yeah, and we managed to utilize this.. Thing, we've sent a small flower through a rip by tapping this thing in a certain way. But we don't know how to transport full, living people, and we don't know what would happen if we did."

"And I figure it'd be best if we didn't." Vrenus added, despite her comment not being exactly needed at the time. "Who knows what a mysterious, space ripping, energy signature could do?"

"Well, we could try to send one of the Delta rockets through."

"How about that trainwreck Vulcan? He's-"

The pendant suddenly started to shake and quake, the purple mixing with the red as the small black cracks along the bronze began to widen and separate.

On instinct, Earnith dropped the pendant, eyes wide as Junifrer finally entered into the room and the other two jumped into a defensive position.

The bronze pieces finally split, the purple orb shattering as the energy began to engulf the room.

Everything faded — rather, brightened — to white.

"Hey, uh, not the time in this conversation, but like, four people just transported here." Astra randomly blurted, all eyes darting towards her.

"Well, ain't that real convenient?" Benny would reply, leaning back into the couch. "Didn't we just send the others outta there to F208?"

"Erhhh, yeah, bet we better go check it out.

-

Tayrun was currently in someone's house corridor, with a shotgun pointed at his head.

This was not ideal.

Alexis, Tayrun, Sterling, and Mikayla had teleported to a dimension — F208, which they really just randomly tapped into the Glsuhdahd, or whatever the multiverse jumping wristwatch's name was.

In which, ended up here, with some kind of humanoid white cat with purple, pink, and blue clothing on the floor with a loaded shotgun aimed at Tayrun's head.

Sterling had stepped forward in front of the crowd, hands up in some sort of peace gesture. "Woah, woah, woah- we're not here to cause trouble." That only gravitated the gun towards his head.

The cat narrowed his eyes, scanning Sterling and the others as his grip on the weapon slightly loosened. Then, he finally got up, "...Is that so?" It came out f
more of a demand, but it was good enough.

"Who exactly are you freaks?"

Nevermind.

-

Where the Nexus Point was, stood four... people?

An irritated humanoid Mammoth, a shocked Arctic Fox, a scared-shitless bee and a Triceratops with an unreadable expression.

Vrenus was the first to notice the group from afar, her irritance quickly becoming seethe. "Great, so we're stuck in some alternate dimension with... People." Her claws gravitated towards her belt, reaching for a dagger before it was held back by Kyraneptune.

"Alternate dimension, they could as well be peaceful." The fox reminded, tapping Earnith to snap her out of her daze. "We should ask them for directions out."

"Absolutely not?" Vrenus retorted, shaking off Kyraneptune's hand, "Besides, alternate dimension, they could as well be war mongers."

Taking a step forward, Junifrer spoke, "They don't seem the part."

"I doubt it."

"We'll see."
