Chapter Text
"You wish to stay behind with this istik? Instead of joining in your kin's quest for freedom?" Orpheus tries to restrain his anger when Lae'zel rejects his most gracious offer of a red dragon.
"Watch your tone, Jhe'stil Orpheus - that istik is my WIFE," the Githyanki woman frowns while clutching her freshly hatched egg. "She is Mla'ghir to you, and it is only just that she be treated with respect."
"Tsk," The prince of the comet offers her no apologies, but holds his tongue against his Vin'isk, "While the Githyanki will forever grateful to your party's acts in freeing me from that prison, you forget yourself, Lae'zel. We should be standing as one against Vlaakith - and now is the time to strike while her ranks are in disarray."
"I will always be Ra'stil to yourself and Kith'rak Voss, friend Orpheus... But I can be revyrkal no longer. I have a new path now. With her. And this child." Lae'zel turns to Shadowheart, who nods in support as the Githyanki continues, "If ever you have need of a place to say in Faerun, our cottage will always be open."
As Orpheus opens his mouth to object, he finds Kith'rak Voss' arm on his shoulder, "She has made her decision, Jhe'stil Orpheus. Let us find allies elsewhere - Cre'che K'liir, perhaps. But we must move quickly before the Hshar'lak Vlaakith's lies spread further."
"Agreed," Orpheus finally concedes, "Lae'zel. You will always have a place with the Githyanki should you change your mind." He offers a handshake, which she takes, "Gratitude. Orpheus gha'g shkath zai." With that, Orpheus departs the cottage in the woods, leaving Lae'zel and her lover to their peace.
"My... This istik has her heart set aflutter. I can't believe you spoke to Orpheus that way," Shadowheart moves closer to her wife, before pressing her forehead against Lae'zels, "You weren't trying your best to seduce me while speaking to a commanding officer, were you Zhak vo'n'ash duj?"
"I... Hrmn..." Lae'zel blushes, looking away. She loved it when Shadowheart spoke Gith to her.
"Joking," Shadowheart laughs as she points finger guns at her wife, "But come now... It's time for bed. You've awoken a mood in me."
