Help with paperwork was rare. Jenny Shepard, NCIS Director, knew that more than anyone, so when she finds Sarah Porter, SecNav, hiding in her office she’s quick to shut and lock the door, dropping into a seat beside Sarah to look the papers over, her voice soft at the way Sarah’s breath catches.
“Just let me help, you’ll be okay.”
Silence falls as she reads the paper, then makes sense of it, her voice gentle as she explains what most of it means, smiling when Sarah is able to fill out the form and sign off on the paperwork. It’s clear from the way Sarah’s smile breaks out that she has been more than a little stressed.
“See, I’ve got your back. Just breathe.”
