Izuku looked towards the gates of UA, civilians and his classmate Ochako besides him, a small child in his arms and a hoard of Nomu behind them and approaching fast.
"Mr Deku, look, the gates are closing" the young child, Satsuko, a little girl no older than Eri, spoke, her voice braking him out of his musings, looking towards the gate Izuku saw that they were indeed closing, something he KNEW Nedzu wouldn't allow unless he had no other choice.
He reached towards his ear, activating him coms in an open broadcast. "Control room this is Deku, Provisional licensed hero. Keep those gates open, myself and Uravity are escorting civilians to protection"
An unexpected voice spoke over the coms "hold your tongue Deku, you don't make decisions here, I do! When you were given your licence you were supposed to end this threat and save Japan. You and your fellow students have failed! The hero's have failed! And to make matters worse you have squandered our resources for weeks on saving every person you come across instead of focusing on those truly important. " the voice, belonging to the newly "elected" president of the HPSC, spoke, sending a shiver of rage and disgust down Izuku's back
The voice began speaking again, sending white hot flashes of rage through Izuku's body "scans show a hoard of Nomu closing In on your position, I will not risk having my school being overun by those monsters, the gates will be closed no matter what. If you insist on saving those useless civilians then as of this moment you and Uravity will have your provisional license REVOKED, if you continue to attempt to interfere then you are on your own Vigilantes"
Izuku looked over the civilians face's, worried and full of fear, he heard the child in his arms sob softly, heard two of the people he was guiding, a man carrying his daughter and a women supporting them both comment on how they wouldn't get through the gate in time and his burning anger turned to a frozen rage, passing the small girl in his arms off to Ochako Izuku stepped forward towards the gate, placing a hand onto the young woman's shoulder and making his way past her with a calm and cold "excuse me" he stepped towards the mostly closed gate and placing his shoulder against the bottom of it, his Quirk sparking to life as he took the massive weight of the gate onto his shoulder and dropping to one knee, like Atlas supporting the sky
"Deku! What the hell are you doing!" Ochako screamed out at him, worry, fear and rage written across her face at seeing him doing something stupid and self sacrificing again, she began to reach towards the gate, intent to touch or and lessen some of Deku's burden when a shake of his head stopped her
"Uravity, no, you'll damage the gate and UA, the other Civilians, need the gate to HOLD, fuck, AllMight give me strength, go! I have it's weight, everyone in NOW!" He watched as adult after adult, child after child, made their way through the gap at the bottom of the gate, his short frame meaning that some had to crawl to get through
Ochako watched as Deku's arm began to turn purple, something obvious broken inside, blood began to drip down his jaw, running slowly from his mouth, he was doing it again, he was braking himself to save someone else! She looked at the small child in her arms, looked at the young girl watching as Deku.. no, as Izuku held up what must have been several tons of metal to allow the civilians to get to safety, untill only the young girl in her arms remained.
She was about to speak when Izuku growled loudly, Blackwhip wrapping itself around his arm and leg, stabbing into the ground around him to add stability as his right leg collapse under him causing the door to drop lower, leaving just enough room for a child to crawl through
Izuku screamed in pain as he felt his arm brake again, doing everything I'm his power to hold the gate open just a little bit longer before turning to Ochako, looking into the eyes of the young girl in her arms and nodding " I need you to go now sweetie ok, I need you to crawl through to safety" he said, blood running down his chin as he spoke, he gave her a bright smile showing bloody teeth
The young girl shook her head "what about you two, the gap is to small for you to fit through!" She sobbed, looking Izuku into the eyes and seeing something there, something she recognised from her parents eyes before they passed her to one of the ladies and told them to run. "NO! You can't! I won't go without you" she began to sob harder before a fierce look spread across her face "No! Wait for me here ok, I'll go through and tell them to open the gate again, then you..." she was stopped by Deku using his free hand to ruffle her hair affectionately
Izuku smile at her and shook his head before looking to Ochako "Uravity, could you reach into my pouch and give what you find there to young Setsuko?" He asked, watching as Ochako did as asked, opening his belt pouch and pulling out a small laminated card, like an ID card, a square of fabric, likely a handkerchief, a small glass vial filled with a red liquid and a small note book.
Setsuko looked uncertain and was about to argue again when Ochako pulled items out of a pouch of her own, a matching small laminated card and note book before she wrapped them along with the other card, notebook and a the vial in the handkerchief.
Setsuko wipped her eyes and looked at the items in confusions before Deku spoke again"I need you to go into UA now Setsuko sweetie, I need you to take that package and deliver it to my mother, you'll know her when you see her, her hair is the same colour as mine. If you have any trouble ask someone to point you towards AllMight, tell them Deku sent you to find him ok?"
"Setsuko-chan, we need you to do this for us ok?" Ochako spoke, passing the small bundle to Setsuko, pressing it into the small girls hands" we both swore to protect this place, to guard it and never let it fall, we promised to get these items back to Deku's Mom. we want you to guard it in our place untill the other hero's can come and rescue you and the others. Will you do that for us? will you help us keep our promise?"
Setsuko took the bundle, holding it tightly and nodding towards Deku and Uravity. Seeing her nod Izuku smiles brightly and gestures with his free hand towards the gap at the base of the gate " I need you to go now ok, remember find my mom or Allmight" she heard him say, nodding one last time she began to crawl her way through the gap, as she got through she heard Uravity's voice once more "Setsuko, we want you to remember one last thing for us ok? The UA motto, when faced with adversity you go beyond: Plus Ultra, remember that for us ok?" Before Setsuko could reply the gate slammed shut, cutting off anything she would say.
Izuku pull his broken, bloody arm out from under the closing gate once he was sure Setsuko had gotten through, closing off any chance he and Ochako had of getting to safety, using his other arm he activated his com again, dialing into a different frequency "Mei? Can you hear me?" He nodded to himself for a few seconds before he cut off the voice on the other side "MEI! I need you to listen to me, the hoard is at the gate and we're trapped outside... no I do NOT what you to 'hack the gates to let us in' MEI! FOCUS! Mei access UA's Mainframe, yes THAT mainframe, Mmhm, yes, Username is 'Deku' password 'One-Foxtrot-Alpha-nine', you're in? Good, now activate protocol 'Ageis', mmhm, Confirmation passwords 'Smallmight' 'Gravitywho' yes. Now initialise. And Mei, thank you, for everything"
Izuku closed the com line and looked at Ochako, a smile on his face as a shimmering forcefield activated, covering UA in a protective dome. He sighed heavily and turned to look at the Nomu hoard, now almost upon them "the shield is up, should hold untill the hero's can return. They'll be safe, She'll be safe"
Ochako nodded, a determined look spreading across her face "so we're really doing this then, you and me against the hoard? I like those odds Izuku" she said, blushing slightly at calling Izuku by his given name, her hands tightening into fists.
Deku smiled at her, turning back to face the hoard "you and me against the hoard O-Ochako, I guess it's like Present Mic-Sensei said, 'If you can't do something smart, do something right'" he stuttered slightly blushing up a storm before he looked up to see a single drone flying above the gate inside the shield. He sighed heavily and pointed it out to Ochako "looks like Mei decided to watch our little scuffle Ochako, can't say I'm surprised. I guess this time the revolution will be televised."
Ochako snorted out a laugh before feeling an hand on her arm, looking down she saw it belonged to Izuku, she was about to ask what he was doing when he spoke again "In all our time at UA Ochako I've only had one regret, since the sports festival I've regretted... not being with you." Izuku said. Moving his hand from her arm to touch her cheek Ochako startled slightly, was, was Izuku saying what she thought he was saying?
"With me? You mean to say... as in a Relationship?" She asked, hope and fear in her voice in equal parts. Her face begining to turn red as Izuku leaned in closer
Izuku leaned in close to Ochako, looking her in the eyes before speaking "I mean to say." He moved closer, his lips touching hers in a gentle kiss.
Ochako's eyes closed momentarily as she leaned into the kiss before the two separated, a smile spreading across her face "To Hell with this. I'm gonna live! I'm takin you on a gorram date after this is over" she growled out, turning to face the Nomus. "When Allmight hears what we did here he will be proud, Aizawa is going to kill us, but Allmight will be proud" she said,a sad smile on her face
Izuku smiled sadly and he took his ready stance "yes Ochako, we do our teachers proud, we do our school proud, what do you say? One last time. GO BEYOND!" he shouted launching himself at the nearest Nomu, bearly hearing Ochako join his reply "PLUS ULTRA!"
Setsuko stood behind the now closed gate, her hands gripping the bundle Deku and Uravity had entrusted to her when she saw an older woman, short and rounded and with dark green hair stood wringing her hands, talking to a tall skeletal blond that she recognised as the former number one hero. Setsuko rushed towards her, grabbing her shirt and tugging repeatedly
"excuse me miss, are you Mr Deku's mommy?" She asked, getting Inko and Allmight's attentions
Inko looked down at the young girl pulling on her sleeve "Hi there sweetie, yes I'm Deku's mom, my name is Inko, what's your name?" She asked, crouching slightly to get down to the girls eye level
Setsuko shook her head and looked Inko in the eyes "my name is Setsuko, Mr Deku and Miss Uravity saved me and all the people and brought us back here" she started to sob lightly earning a small gasp from Inko but she continued on "M-Mr D-Deku and M-Miss Uravity are still out there! The mean man on the radio closed the gates before we could get in! Mr Deku h-held the gate open to let us get in, Miss Uravity helped people get through the gap as quickly as they could" Setsuko sobbed harder
Inko and Toshinori gasped as did several people who heard Setsuko's words before she continued, still sobbing "Mr Deku and Miss Uravity couldn't get through the gate, they're trapped outside! They gave me this to give to you" she sobbed as she help out the bundle.
Inko took the bundle with shaking hands and unwrapped it, she noticed four things immediately; first the bundle was wrapped in a handkerchief, a simple square of light green fabric with a single green D sewn into its bottom left corner. she recognised it, she'd sewn it for Izuku when he returned to UA a few months ago and she's helped him sew the green D, his mark, onto it. she's made him promise to bring it back to her, made him promise that it would be placed into her hands at the end of the mission, she should have know that her Izuku would find a loophole.
Second she noticed her son's Provisional license, together with another, it's picture showing a smiling brunette, little pink blush marks on her face, it was Uraraka's, Uravity's.
The third thing she noticed was two small note books, she couldn't miss his handwriting anywhere and her heart brokebwhen she read the words written on then. One read 'Last will and testament, Midoriya Izuku' the other 'last will and testament, Uraraka Ochako', it took all her willpower not to breakdown at the sight of them.
The final thing she noticed broke her restraint, causing her to collapse to her knees with a wailing cry, it was a simple glass vial, a vial she now knew the meaning of. It was a blood sample, red and thick, but it was so much more than that. It was Izuku's failsafe incase of death, it was One for All.
