Work Text:
Todoroki Shouto has never really had a life. His father always locked him in his room or somewhere in the house, forcing him to keep working on his magic. That was until his dad said something out of nowhere.
“You will be getting married in two weeks.” he said blatantly. Everyone stopped what they were doing completely. I Shouto looked up from his plate in shock.
“WHAT?!” Touya yelled from across the table. He stood immediately with his white hair falling on his shoulders, he stared at Enji with a cold blue gaze.
“Sit down Touya..” Shouta muttered, “it's fine..” he continued.
“Listen to your younger brother.” Enji said. “You will be married off into the Sero family. We collectively agreed that marrying him would be a great way to combine our families.” he said in his power crazy manner.
Touya stood pissed and stormed off. You'd think he was worried for Shouto, but he wasn't. He was the oldest so he was supposed to be married off first, to get out of this hell hole, but his dad had different plans. Shouto didn’t wanna be married off but he hadn't had much of a choice, just hoping that his new husband would be nice enough. Maybe his new husband would let him have a garden, be allowed outside.

The day had come, the day he’d be married off, to a man he's never even met. All of the maids and staff in general were freaking out. Shouto had been forced into a dress of all things. He was wearing a long dress that had a long trail, the sleeve had been fishnets with fireflies embedded in the design. The dress formed around his figure in a way to make him look skinny, not a healthy skinny but more like anorexic skinny. His long split hair put up into a braided bun, a firefly hair needle piercing through it.
He paced around his room in the one free moment, he had to himself. He didn't have a lot of time to think before someone knocked on his door and didn't even wait for an answer before entering. “Mr. Todoroki, it's time for the ceremony.” Shouto didn't even flinch and walked with the maid to the church that Enji had built on his property.
As he walked along his property for the first time ever, he began to wonder what the rest of the world would be like, if this hell hole could be beautiful. He looked around the beautiful garden until he spotted many people, all in white ‘aren't people supposed to not wear white to weddings?’ he asked himself.
He looked at the many people he didn't know before he looked to the front to see his soon to be husband being the only one to wear black. The Sero son that he was soon to marry stood tall even while he was slouching, his black hair falling around his neck in a messy way that framed his face well. His dark eyes fogged over as he zoned out. He obviously didn't want to be there, Shouto felt bad for using him to escape.
Touya looked like he was about to set something on fire as Shouto walked down the aisle. Once the classic wedding song started his soon to be husband finally looked up to see Shouto. Dark met blue and gray, no sparks occurred as one would expect. Shouto had finally made it up to the altar after what seemed to be an eternity. The ceremony started as Shouto zoned out for it all, thinking about what the world would be like not in his home. He came back to the present when he heard a voice across from him.
“I do.” Seo said, Those two words were all he heard. Shouto saw the priest's lips move but didn't hear a word. He was too focused on how deep Sero’s voice was. He didn't have any other thought until everything went silent, and Shouto realized what they were waiting for.
“Uhm.. I do.” Shouto had muttered, and the priest continued with the you may now kiss the bride spiel. He watched as Sero leaned closer and left a small peck on his lips. The whole crowd clapped and cheered, more on Sero’s side rather than Shouto’s. Specifically this one guy with bright red hair, with a guy with yellow hair with a lightning bolt dyed in.
The ceremony continued, it mainly consisted of Hanta as he finally learned his name to be, and Shouto sitting at a table with their parents talking about how Enji would supply a house for them to move into together after the ceremony ended. Shouto and Hanta remained silent until Shouto felt someone run behind him and literally tackle Hanta.
“OH MY GOD BRO YOUR MARRIED NOW! HOW DOES IT FEEL?!” The guy from earlier with bright red hair yelled. Katsuki immediately started to try and push him off.
“Ei get the fuck off of me.” Hanta stated as ‘Ei’ began to laugh very loudly. “Why did I invite you to this shit..?” Hanta muttered under his breath. The ‘Ei’ guy didn't seem to hear him but Shouto did.
Shouto had let out a small chuckle, the first laugh he's had in a while. And ‘Ei” seemed to beam at that. “See! He gets it!” he practically shouted as he stood off of Hanta and wrapped an arm around Shouto.
“Yeah yeah whatever.” Hanta said as he stood up and wiped the dirt off of his suit. With the touch of ‘Ei’ Shouto began to wither down a bit in embarrassment. That was until he heard his father.
“Ehem.” he coughed to get their attention. Suddenly ‘Ei’ took his arm off of Shouto.
“Sorry sir!” he muttered before running off to the one with yellow hair, his face now fighting with his hair to be redder.

Once the ceremony had ended Hanta and Shouto were stuffed into a car, both parents coming up to them. His father had brought his mother out of the mental hospital for this specifically. She stood shyly beside him, obviously not wanting to be there.
As Sero's parents were bickering with him, Shoutos father had said “good luck with him, never call me again. I'm glad to have you off of my shoulders.” as his father had said that Shouto had looked over to his mother and she mouthed “I love you.” To him.
The car finally set off for their new shared home, as the car moved Shouto looked out the window in awe at all of the surroundings. Trees, grass, plants, buildings, ect passed by and Shouto was happy to see it all.
As they arrived at their new home, Hanta seemed extremely upset. As soon as the car stopped he got out as fast as possible slamming the door, startling Shouto slightly. Shouto jumped out of the car quickly to follow behind him, he wanted to ask him something before he disappeared.
“Wait!” he called out to Hanta. Red eyes turned to glare holes into his. “I was wondering.. Would I be allowed to.. Uhm.. have a garden? I’ll take care of it of course and you’ll never have to look at it, i'll male sure its small so-”
Sero looked confused for a moment before cutting him off. “I don't care what you do. Why would you even ask?” he said before turning to walk into the house.
“Uhm because-” Shouto started only to be cut off again.
“That was a rhetorical question.”
“What’s a rhetorical question?”
“How sheltered are you? It's a question that's not supposed to be answered.”
“Was that a rhetorical question?”
Hanta looked at him like he was an idiot before he walked into the house. Shouto followed after him quickly.
“Are we sharing a room?” Shouto asked.
“We’re married aren’t we?” Hata said bluntly.
“Ok! That one has got to be a rhetorical question!”

After they had gotten settled (in the same room) Shouto collapsed into the bed only wanting to sleep. The bed dipped beside him, he looked over to see Hanta sitting on the bed, book in hand already reading.
Shouto dozed off only to wake up around 3 am, only to see his very loving husband was gone. He got up to realize his hair had been taken down for him, the hair pin on the bedside table. He wandered around the house until he saw Hanta outside, and a smoke left his mouth. Shouto opened the door and asked “What are you doing?”
Hanta turned around quickly and a frown became apparent on his face. “Trying to smoke the stress away.” he said before turning around and taking another hit of whatever he was smoking. “I never wanted to get married but lookie here, I now have a husband I never wanted.
Shouto would be lying if he said that didn't hurt. He stomped up to Hanta and took the blunt, as he found it was, out of his hand and took a long hit. Once his lips left the end he began to cough up a storm. Smoke going everywhere he decided that it was a horrible idea to have done that.
Suddenly Hanta began to laugh very loudly. “Why would you do that?” he asked, laughing. He took the joint back and took a hit for himself. “Idiot.” he muttered. Shouto sat beside him, still coughing.
“For the *cough* record *caught* I didn't want to get *cough* married either.” Shouto lied through his teeth. He wanted to be married off, he could finally get away from his wretched father.
“It's nice to know I'm not the only one forced into this marriage.” he said with an obviously fake laugh. And that made Shouto feel worse for lying.
