Nami looked over at the sound of her captain's laugh. It wasn't an unusual or rare sound, but Usopp and Chopper were fishing right in front of her, so she couldn't help but wonder what drew Luffy's attention today. She glanced up just in time to see Luffy poke their new ally on the cheek.
"Shishishishi." Luffy laughed loudly. "Torao is so cute!"
Nami took note of the murderous look on Law's face and huffed lightly. Luffy really is crazy, but she must be crazy, too, since she decided to follow him. A soft smile appeared on her face.
Oh, well. It's not like Law would try to kill Luffy when he'd have to kill all of them. Even if he did manage to do that, it's not like he could pilot to Sunny, and Law is smart enough to realize that. Besides, she's sure that Law will come around to Luffy's charms by the time they reach Dressrosa.

They didn't have much time to catch up, but Sabo did manage to ask Luffy about his crew an dhis friends when they met in the colloseum. He couldn't help but smile in return to Luffy's wide grin as he talked about his crew.
"-and the newest one is Brook, well really, it'll be Jinbe after he's done with what he needs to do, but he said that will take a while."
Sabo's smile faltered for just a moment. First son of the sea, Jinbe? His brother never ceased to amaze him.
"And last is Torao!"
"I thought you said Brook was last?" Sabo asked.
"Torao isn't part of my crew, but he's my friend."
There was definitely more to it than that. "A friend? What kind of friend is this 'Torao'?" Sabo pushed. He really didn't have much time, but this felt important to Luffy.
"Ah, well, his name is really Trafalgar Law, but that's super hard to say, so he let's me call him Torao. He's the one who saved my life two years ago. Torao is super nice and cute!"
Sabo heard a loud crash outside.
"Torao!"
He looked at the person under Doflamingo. The man was extremely beat up, but he couldn't imagine him as cute in any sense of the word. Luffy really did have the strangest taste. "Go save your Torao, Luffy. I'll take care of the Flame-Flame fruit!" Sabo said.
Luffy gave him a determined nod and ran off.

Robin watched her captain carefully. He seemed to be stirring awake. The only other one awake was Law, and he was currently perched at Luffy's side. She discreetly summoned an ear to hear them better.
"Torao?" She heard her captain say in a scratchy voice.
"I'm here." Law leaned closer.
"Thank you." She heard after a moment.
Luffy let out a quiet laugh. "Torao is so cute."
"Idiot." Law said in an indulgent tone.
"Mingo was hurting you. I don't know what he did, but I know it took away your smile." Luffy said.
Law let a small smile cross his lips. "But you brought it back."
All Robin could see was a tired man who could finally relax. Law could be considered handsome, but certainly not to her. Her tastes were a bit more. . . eccentric, she thought as her eyes wandered over towards the sleeping cyborg beside her. Regardless of that, she did catch her captain whispering the words "so cute." As he drifted back asleep.

Zoro noticed it from the start. Luffy practically hovered over the guy at Punk Hazard. Hell, he even made them cut their banquet short to ease the man's worries. Luffy is absolutely smitten with Law, even if neither of them recognize that yet.
In fact, the only one he can talk to about it is Sanji, of all people. He's sure that the more observant of the crew have noticed already, but Sanji is the only one willing to talk about it.
"He even knows his favorite and least favorite foods. He literally gave me a list last week." Sanji said as he held up a poorly written list with more than a few words misspelled.
Zoro snorted as he took a swig from his sake bottle before placing it back in between them on the table. He was surprised when Sanji grabbed it to take a drink, but he didn't comment on it, nor did he comment on the cigarette ash falling to the floor of the galley. "I net he gushed about how cute the guy is when he eats his favorite foods. All I can see is a sleep deprived sadist."
Sanji's face was flushed red. Maybe he drank more than Zoro thought. "Exactly. 'Sanji, can you make more of Torao's favorite foods? He gets this cute smile when he eats something he enjoys!' Is my cooking not something he enjoys unless it's a favorite?"
Zoro frowned. Now Sanji was wallowing. He sighed. "You're not to shabby. The guy's just picky." He said awkwardly. "But I do appreciate having riceballs more often."
"Catch me a sea king, and I'll cook it up for you. Maybe with some plain white rice and sake. Otherwise, it's going to be rice balls until Luffy gets sick of pandering to this guy." Sanji laid his head onto his arms.
Zoro smirked. "Well, it looks like I'm off for a swim."
That seemed to get Sanji up. "Idiot! You'll get lost!" He ran after Zoro.

Usopp frowned as he heard Luffy muttering in his sleep. They were on Bartolomeo's creepy ship in the captain's quarters that they had so generously gifted to the strawhats and Law by extension.
Usopp got a little closer just in case Luffy was having a bad dream.
"Law. . ." He heard his captain whisper a he snuggled deeper into his pillow. "So cute."
Usopp smiled at his captain. He really is single minded in his perseverance. A lesser man wouldn't be able to deal with Law giving them the cold shoulder like Luffy does. Of course, if Usopp thought that Law wasn't interested in Luffy, he would try to steer his captain away, but judging by the trench coat his captain was using to cover up, Luffy's interest was definitely returned.

Franky knew that there wasn't a lot that could pull his captain's attention away from one of his new inventions, but here he was trying to show off his Motorcycle and Luffy was asking where Law went. At least Robin was giving him her full attention.
"He's distracted by Torao." Robin's melodious voice said from right next to him.
"He must be worried. He knows that we won't leave him, but Torao made no such promise." Brook said with a shake of his head. "It would make my heart shrivel up to see them like that, if I had one, that is."
"Come on, Luffy. You have to stay focused and defeat Kaido!" Franky cheered.
"Think about what might happen of you don't win. Kaido might mess up Torao's cute face." Robin said.
Luffy ground his teeth together. "I won't let that happen! Torao has the cutest face!" He yelled as he ran inside Onigishima.

Chopper noticed it on Zou. He noticed that Luffy constantly smelled like old books and antiseptic alongside his usual meat smell. He also noticed that Torao didn't smell as clean as usual. The surgeon still smelt fresh, but not quite as sterile.
Their scents were rubbing off on one another, but not strong enough for them to have officially mated. Maybe they were just getting close to eachother? All of the strawhats had some scent mixing with eachother.
"Hey, Luffy. . ." Chopper said he he came up Sunny's head.
Luffy flipped around to view his doctor.
"You're starting to smell like Torao. Are you both becoming friends?" He looked up earnestly.
"Really? That's nice because Torao has such a cute smell. He smells just like his submarine." Luffy said with a laugh.
Chopper didn't understand how a smell could be cute, especially not Law's sterile smell, but Luffy seemed happy with it and he trusted the man with his life, so it wasn't hard to trust him with this, too.

Jinbe was the last to join the newly minted emperor's crew, but he was also one of the most observant.
"That probably won't end well. Pirate alliances rarely do, romances even more rarely." Jinbe commented to Nami.
"Luffy has a way of defying odds. Besides, I don't know much about the Will of D, but I know enough, and Law has that initial, too."
Jinbe hummed lightly. "The will of D. . . An insurmountable will, the power to bend reality to their wants, as well as no fear of death. No one really knows what it is, but most who share that initial, have similar traits. It's said they bring a storm with them and that they're the natural enemies of celestial dragons because they can't be brought to their knees."
Nami smirked. "Luffy will definitely bring the world to it's knees. If he wants Law at his side, I'm sure it'll happen."
"Don't got making promises for me, Nami-ya."
"Torao!" Nami yelled.
"I'll continue to do as I've always done, which is whatever I want, so don't make promises you can't keep."
Nami frowned. Something was off.
There! Law was pouting!
"I finally see it! I really thought Luffy was going crazy, but you're actually cute!" Nami yelled. "Not as cute as my princess, but you're all pouty and grumpy and somehow, Luffy is crazy enough to think that's cute." She pulled out her climatact and pointed it at Law. "I'm warning you, you better be kind to my Captain! He needs something soft in his life!"
"Why are you talking like this is already decided? I've got my own thing to do and Luffy-ya knew the alliance was over after Kaido was defeated." Law glared at her.
"Ah! Don't start that! You better get in there to see him. He'll want you there when he wakes up." Nami waved towards the room that Luffy and Zoro were in. "Besides, this is Luffy you're talking about. He's been talking about it how cute you are since Punk Hazard, so there's no way he'll just let you go now."
Law blushed, bur he immediately yanked his hat down to hide his face. He did follow Nami's advice and go to sit by Luffy's side.
Jinbe laughed heartily after he left. "It seems like he's just as smitten as our captain!"

"I don't want to leave your side." Law whispered as he picked up Luffy's hand. He was surprised to feel it clench around his hands.
"You have to."
Law looked over to meet Luffy's eyes. "Lu-ya." He grasped Luffy's hand tighter.
"You have to go. You need to be free to roam." Luffy smiled brightly. "You wouldn't be Torao if I made you stay."
"You don't have that problem with your crew." Law looked ready to cry.
"You aren't part of my crew. You're a captain, too. It's finally your chance to be free. Mingo is gone, Kaido is gone, and you don't have any more promises to keep other than to your crew." Luffy forced himself to sit up, but he didn't let Law release his hand.
"Then, can I make a promise to you?" Law asked.
"Shishishishi." Luffy laughed. "Torao can do whatever he wants."
"After one of us becomes pirate king, let's meet up. Whoever doesn't get the title can be the other's queen."
Luffy grinned. "Law is so cute. I can't wait to call him my Queen."
