Chapter Text
It was supposed to be an easy stealth heist, get in, get the stuff, get out, that was not the case, you were ambushed. You, Sokol, Jacket and Jiro were in a dire situation, there were cops everywhere, and all you had were suppressed rifles and pistols. No medic bags were anywhere in sight, and you have one down left, unfortunately for you, you were downed by a dozer, Jacket was trying to kill him as Sokol was running to your aid.
“Next time you're down, do us all a favor and stay down!!” Sokol yelled over the gun fire at you, you weren’t sure if he was serious or not, as you couldn’t see his face, but he sounded serious. You were hurt that he said that to you. You did not have much fight left in you anymore, especially after what Sokol had said, you had been distracted by the words and because of this you were downed a final time and brought into custody.
“GUYS [H/N] WAS PUT IN CUSTODY!” You could hear Bain yell over the intercoms. “I’LL DO MY BEST TO GET YOU OUT. EVERYONE ELSE YOU WILL HAVE TO LEAVE WITHOUT THEM”
You could hear Sokol scream something incoherent being dragged, likely by Jacket, that was before you had your ear piece ripped out of your ear, now you had no way of communication with anyone. It took weeks to get a good negation, you’d seen similar situations happen with the other heisters, granted you weren’t the receiving end. While you were incarcerated the only thing you could think of was the last words that had been spoken to you before this, Sokols words played on repeat in your head, you couldn’t shake them, was that really how he felt about your life, he was your partner and that’s what he felt the need to say when you needed help. You had no idea what a mess he was without you though.
Sokol had to be dragged to the van, he did not want to leave without you. Jacket fought him tooth and nail in the van because of it. At the safehouse it was worse, he was in a constant state of anxiety with a hair pin trigger. He was fighting with everyone he came in contact with, verbal or physical, everything set him off in the weeks leading to the final negotiation that got you out. When you were released Bain suggested taking a bit away from heisting, as he did with all of these cases, you rejected the offer. It was late when you were freed so you went back home instead of to the safehouse. The next day you went to the safehouse and were greeted by many of the others, Wolf gave you a big hug welcoming you back. Then Sokol ran up to you, face red and eyes puffy from near constant crying, he knew it was his fault you went into custody, he tried hugging you, you simply pushed him off, giving nothing more than a deadpan stare into his eyes, you walked away from him. What he said hurt you deeply, as of now he really meant nothing to you, he was simply another heister.
