Work Text:
The way we were back then…
… when the family of us felt complete, the spirit undefeated and the cause kept us fighting, together
Life for sure was harsh, unsettled
Each single and simple thing, a battle
Shelter, food, water, fuel, what have you
All of it just to get the days through
Alas, there was a greater cause to consider
The one we were all committed to, tethered
Together, as a team, a family in the end
We managed through the good and the bad to spend
It was far from easy, situations more right and squeeze
The yoke of the Empire choking us all easily
But with our small size team and allies we managed
To push back and in the end evil vanquish
But it did all come at a great cost
The souls, the loves we along the way lost
Friends, allies, family members alike
Honouring them now, in this continued life
After the rebellion was finally over as such
We had agreed, all of us, to keep in touch
Not as often and certainly not as much
But somehow we got lost to each other
Rekindling those feelings, emotions of family
Is difficult, the time having passed surely and slowly
Those remaining in this life scattered across the galaxy
Some even in some other universe, maybe
How to get the pack back together is a mystery
But guess a few of us is a start, not giving in
The search for the rest of us, having remained
As family is the one thing earned, never gained
