Chapter Text

Eddie frowned, pulling the covers up over his head, he could hear Buck and Christopher playing very noisily in the living room. He wondered briefly why he let himself get talked into buying that band game. A flash of memory presented itself at the forefront of his mind, a kiss, a whispered promise and a very hot, wet finger pressing into him. They’d spent Christmas eve together just them for the first time in a long time usually they went to Maddie and Chims’ or Bobby and Athenas but last night. Last night had just been them, Eddie, Christopher and Buck. It had been so warm and cozy, candy canes, good food, present exchange. Followed by a face time call from just about everyone. Even Bucks parents had called to wish them a ‘Merry Christmas’

He pulled the covers over his nose trying to keep the cold away from his face. He slowly woke up more and more, his body readying itself to move more and more. Eddie moaned stretching his body tensing before he relaxed a small smile on his face. He laid in bed a few more minutes, laziness winning in a way it never had before. Well ever since I started dating Buck, it’s gotten worse. Well, I guess it’s a good thing that I’m able to relax, it’s not a bad thing. He could loudly hear Buck tell Christopher to go ‘wake his dad up’ he scoffed rolling onto his side, listening intently for the click sounds of Christopher coming to his room. He smiled as Buck very loudly sang an off-key tune Christopher singing alongside him a lot more timidly.

“Wake up Eds! Christmas gift playing time.” Christopher's giggle came through the door. He could see Buck looking down at Chris and smiling, his son giggling just hard enough that his head fell back from laughter. He felt a deep fondness in his belly that spread out.

“Yeah, dad wake up. Buck made breakfast!” Buck whooped loudly knocking very loudly with both hands. The door opened both of his favorite people stampeding into his room. Eddie smiled easily, sitting up Christopher sitting very respectfully on his bed while Buck simply plopped down onto him forcing him onto his back again.

“Babe, you’re crushing me, hold on.” Christopher plopped down on Bucks back now adding to the weight on him. “If you guys crush me, I can’t play with the gifts.” Both his boys chuckled jumping up and down bouncing on the bed. Eddie let out a loud ‘oof’ for their sake, eliciting a laugh from them. Eventually they relented and let him get up, Buck struggled a little more than Christopher did.

“It’s so comfy here. I don’t know why I ever leave the bed.” You could move in. Eddie would never say it to him, they’d been dating for three years now the tsunami was just a bad memory. Instead, Eddie offered to return to bed after the games they played. Brushing his teeth and refreshing his face Buck walked up behind him hands coming up Eddies hips. Plastering himself against his back huffing. Eddie ran a hand up and down Bucks back the angle forcing his arms at an awkward angle.

“You ok babe?” The pet name came so easily to Eddie, the affection in his tone softening everything that was hard about him. The Christmas spirit was alive and well in the Diaz house. Thanks to Buck he knew he’d be bummed about it ending so soon.

“Christmas is over Eds. I don’t know what to do with all this excess energy, I feel electric.” Eddie scoffed feeling Buck press into his butt, he was sporting a semi. Let’s chalk it up to Christmas spirit?

“I can feel it, babe.” He said jokingly pressing himself back onto Buck, “Can you wait till later? Chris is waiting.” Buck nodded in between Eddie’s shoulder blades. He lifted the shirt pressing his face onto Eddie’s bare skin he appreciated the constant need for skin-to-skin contact. Eddie would never admit how much he liked the contact, instead he turned pushing him off.

“New year's is coming we can throw a party?” He offered it to placate his boyfriend's sad mood Buck perked up some, the cogs in his mind turning.

“Maybe we can throw it here?  I can cook up appetizers and stuff.” Buck's eyes had a twinkle of hope in them that was so heartwarming. He nodded and Bucks eyes rounded, eyebrows scrunching together in warm adoration.

Christopher was giving them a rundown on how the band video game worked, Eddie ended up on drums while Buck took the guitar and Christopher had the other one. They played a few songs together singing-despite it not being needed for the game- it had even been cold during the day which was not usually promised so Eddie took advantage and did the only thing he was good at.

“Hot chocolate for three?” His boys nodded grinning. Eddie came back and served his boys the promised hot chocolate along with a bowl of marshmallows for them to add.

“Hot choco is somehow the few good things you can make ya know that Eds?” He didn't know if that was meant to be a compliment Eddie was feeling playful. He sipped from the cup letting the milk mustache stick before making a serious face at his son and boyfriend. Buck scoffed with a lopsided smile on his face. Christopher giggled mimicking the milk mustache and the two of them made the same face at Buck who pretended to not find it funny.

“C’mon do it with us, you know you want to.” Eddie sing-songed at him. Buck rolled his eyes at them both, Eddie locked eyes with Chris he nodded surging forward and pressing the milk mustache into the side of Buck’s cheek. Christopher laughed without restraint at Bucks comical reaction hands flaying, a face of small disgust, followed by an offended look on his face. Buck caved made a milk mustache for himself, gave one big kiss to Eddie and another for Christopher. The two men very roughly wiping their faces in feigned offense. Buck took the mugs to the kitchen, offering popcorn and some of the caramel corn he brought.

“I like Christmas with Buck, dad.” His son said curling into his side, Eddie ruffled his curls. Nodding a feeling of warmth and affection blooming in his chest. He watched as his boyfriend made his way back to them sweats, and a loose Christmas sweater on, he’s a dream, I'm so lucky. Buck planted a kiss on both Eddie and Christopher's heads settling in beside Christopher sprawled out on the couch. Christopher was completely enraptured with the movie Eddie glanced at Buck smiling. He wrinkled his nose at Eddie in question, who shook his head affection warming his cheeks. “Merry Christmas babe.” He smiled leaning back on the couch mimicking Bucks pose.

“Merry Christmas Eds, last night with you two was the best night of my life. I promise.” Eddie grinned he loved Bucks promises, they always meant he was sincere.

Eddie found himself looking forward to all the holidays now, eager to get Buck in as many of them as he could. He ruffled Christopher's curls who let himself fall back on the couch mimicking their poses.
