Work Text:

It had been a long day at university and Scott and Wallace needed a way to unwind after a particularly stressful lecture.

Scott decided to follow Wallace to his apartment because he thought it would be kind of awkward to take him to his parents’ house (which he embarrassingly still lived).

Scott followed Wallace to his apartment, seeking refuge from the stresses of university life. As they entered, Wallace, with a touch of awkwardness, fumbled with the keys as if it were their first visit.

"After you," Wallace gestured with a fake tip of a hat, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Welcome to my humble abode. You know the drill, mi casa es tu casa, or whatever. Failed Spanish, but you get the idea."

Scott chuckled, feeling at ease in the familiar surroundings. "Thanks, man. Your place is practically my second home anyway, way nicer too," he quipped, appreciating the effort to make light of the situation.

Scott dropped his backpack by the door haphazardly with a sigh as he plopped down on Wallace’s mattress, landing straight on his face. He took in the smell of Wallace’s cologne in the air with a smile. It was familiar and he kicked off his sneakers to get more comfortable.

Wallace raised his eyebrow a bit, following Scott’s lead a bit by taking off his backpack. He couldn’t help but laugh a bit at Scott’s less than graceful entrance and faceplant. A playful smirk played on his lips as he walked over to his friend’s awkward position on his bed.

“Wow guy, that was quite the smooth landing. But you definitely lost some points by throwing your disgusting sneakers god knows where. I’ll have to give you a solid seven out of ten,” he teased and messed up Scott’s hair.

Scott got up with a whine and playfully smacked his hand away as he tried to smooth out his hair as if it was ever tidy in the first place. He adjusted himself and crossed his legs and grinned up at his friend who was standing over him.

“Hey it’s all about the style points, right?” He laughed and continued to fix his hair to appear cooler. Wallace looked at him amused.

“Uh huh…even then you lack in that department,” he crossed his arms, lips quirking up in the corners at his words.

Scott rolled his eyes in mock offense, a playful smile on his face. "Well, not everyone can be as effortlessly cool as you, Wallace," he retorted, leaning back on the mattress with an air of exaggerated nonchalance.

Wallace chuckled, unfolding himself to sit beside Scott. "True, true. It's a heavy burden, but someone's got to carry it," he teased, nudging Scott's shoulder with his own.

As the banter continued, Scott playfully elbowed Wallace in return. "You're the hero we never knew we needed, I look up to you oh great one," he joked, his smile widening.

Wallace feigned a dramatic sigh, placing a hand over his heart. "It's a tough job, but someone's gotta keep this world cool and stylish. Especially since if you’re any indicator, the world needs me desperately ," he quipped, both friends sharing a laugh.

With laughter lingering in the air, Scott and Wallace decided to kick off their Mario Kart session as a way to unwind from the stressful day.

Wallace chose his ever so lucky and probably stereotypical choice of Rosalina. Scott hid his laughter at the choice and clicked on Yoshi. He was a fan of the classics after all.

“Why did you choose Rosalina? She doesn’t even have the best stats, you know?” Scott asked with a furrow of his eyebrows.

“What? Are you saying I can’t look cute and beat your ass at the same time? I’m shocked, Scott, I wouldn’t have taken you to be a bigot,” Wallace teased him. He tsk’d just to aggravate Scott even more. The more drama the better, it wasn’t his fault that Scott was so easy to rile up.

Scott, taken aback by Wallace's playful teasing, frantically backpedaled, "Wait, no, I didn't mean... I mean, of course, you can look cute and be competitive! I was just talking about the in-game stats, not, uh, personal choices. I’m not homophobic I swear, Rosalina is cool too!"

Wallace grinned mischievously, clearly enjoying Scott's flustered response. "Relax, Scott. I'm just messing with you. No need to get all worked up over Mario Kart character choices," he reassured, nudging Scott with an elbow.

Scott’s face was still red and he covered his face with his hands as he groaned. “Ughhh of course you were messing with me. You’re evil, you know that?”

Wallace, ever the instigator, turned to Scott with a sly grin. "How about a little wager? Loser has to do whatever the winner wants. You in? Or are you gonna pussy out?" he challenged, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Scott, always up for a challenge, raised an eyebrow. "Alright, you're on. But don't expect any mercy when I leave you in the dust," he replied with a competitive glint.

“Fat chance, Scott,” Wallace flicked his forehead and stretched a bit before settling into a comfortable position. He was going to beat Scott if it was the last thing he did.

As the race kicked off, the tension between Scott and Wallace escalated with each lap. Scott, determined to prove his skills, focused intensely on the screen, maneuvering Yoshi with precision. It was clear that he had played this game way too much as a kid and he planned to play nice and fair.

Wallace, however, had different plans. With a mischievous grin, he initiated his distraction tactics, leaning in closer to Scott. "You know, Scott, it's impressive how you manage to look so adorable even when you're intensely focused. It's almost distracting," he teased, his tone laced with flirtatious intent. His voice dropped a bit, he was using the voice he usually used to pick up guys at whatever bar he went to.

Scott shivered a bit at the sensations Wallace’s voice gave him, felt his concentration waver as he stammered, "W-what? I'm just trying to win here, Wallace. Stop distracting me! I won’t let you win that easily!” He scoffed as he retrained his eyes on the screen, ignoring the fluttering in his stomach.

But Wallace persisted, nudging Scott playfully. "You're not falling for my charm, are you? That’s a shame, I was going to reward you if you were,” he trailed off, letting the suggestive comment hang in the air.

Scott's face turned a shade redder as he fumbled with the controls, Yoshi careening off the track. "Damn it, Wallace! Stop messing with me," he protested, a mix of frustration and embarrassment evident in his voice. He was messing up the controls as his brain replayed the tone Wallace was speaking to him in.

Wallace, pleased with the successful distraction, chuckled. "Looks like I've got you right where I want you, Scott. Prepare to face the consequences of losing our little bet," he declared, a triumphant glint in his eyes as he raced ahead in the game.

Scott, flustered and slightly off his game, tried to regain his focus. "You won't get away with this, Wallace. I can still catch up," he declared, determined to salvage his pride.

Wallace, maintaining his playful demeanor, leaned in even closer, whispering into Scott's ear with a teasing tone, "Oh, I'm sure you can catch up, but the real question is, do you actually want to?"

Scott's concentration shattered completely, the whisper sending shivers down his spine. His breath was caught in his throat. He blushed furiously, the implication of Wallace's words hitting him hard.

As the race continued, Wallace maintained his playful assault, throwing in more flirty remarks and subtle nudges. Scott, despite his efforts to concentrate, found himself increasingly drawn into the banter, his mind divided between the game and the unexpected flirtation. It was obvious that the flirting got to him much more than he was trying to let on.

As the final lap approached, it was clear that Scott's chances of victory were slipping away. Wallace, confident in his strategy, kept up the charm until the last stretch. With a triumphant maneuver, he crossed the finish line ahead of Scott, sealing his victory.

Scott sighed in defeat, realizing he had fallen victim to Wallace's admittedly effective distractions. "Alright, you win. What's your demand, oh victorious one?" he asked, a mix of resignation and amusement in his voice. He placed the controller down in front of him with a defeated look.

Wallace, reveling in his win, leaned in with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "How about a victory kiss?" he suggested, a playful grin on his face, fully aware of the effect he had on Scott. He always had found him attractive and this was just an excuse to push the boundaries of their relationship even more.

Scott's eyes widened at Wallace's bold suggestion. The room seemed to grow warmer as he processed the proposal, and he felt a mix of surprise and anticipation. He hesitated for a moment, contemplating the implications of their playful bet.

Trying to maintain a facade of nonchalance, Scott chuckled nervously. "A victory kiss, huh? You really know how to up the stakes. But you do know I’m not gay, right?" he remarked, attempting to mask the fluttering in his stomach.

Wallace leaned back, smirking. "Come on, Scott, it's just a bit of fun. Unless you're too scared to accept your fate," he teased, fully aware of the impact his words had on Scott.

Scott, always pretty competitive, raised an eyebrow and scoffed a bit in disbelief. "Scared? Please, I'm not one to back down," he declared, trying to convince himself as much as Wallace.

Wallace closed the remaining distance between them, his gaze locking onto Scott's eyes. "Good. After all, it's just a game, right? Nothing too serious, guy," he said, his tone lowering once again to a more serious yet seductive pitch.

Scott's heart raced as Wallace's proximity increased and he gulped in an attempt to calm his nerves. He could feel the warmth of Wallace's breath fanning across his lips, and the room suddenly felt charged with an unspoken tension. In that moment, the line between the Mario Kart game and their playful banter blurred, and Scott found himself captivated by the magnetic pull Wallace seemed to exert.

Wallace, growing impatient with Scott’s stalling, grabbed his shirt collar and yanked him closer. The gap between them closed as Scott let out a small squeak from the unexpected pull. He slowly melted into this kiss and his hands reached up nervously to cup Wallace’s cheeks as they kissed. This kiss was a long time coming and it could be shown with the eager way their lips connected.

The kiss felt right, it was like they were the only people in the whole world at that moment. A warm glow filled their chest as they pulled away, huffing for air.

In that instant, a magical spark ignited between them, and the air around them shimmered with glittering sparks that danced around their heads.

Both men pulled back, wide-eyed, as they witnessed the mesmerizing display. The room seemed to glow with a soft radiance, and they exchanged amazed glances, sharing a silent acknowledgment of the enchanting connection they had just discovered.

Scott's breath caught as he looked at Wallace, and he couldn't help but whisper under his breath in disbelief , "Sparks.."

Wallace, equally captivated by the magical display, grinned with a mix of surprise and delight. "Those exist?" he murmured, his eyes locking onto Scott's with confusion and admiration swirling.

The glittering sparks continued to swirl around them, creating an otherworldly ambiance in Wallace's apartment. The room seemed to pulsate with the energy of their shared connection, and the lingering magic of the kiss.

As the sparks slowly faded away, the room returned to its ordinary state, but the atmosphere remained charged with a strange tension. Scott and Wallace, still in close proximity, exchanged a look that spoke volumes – acknowledging the uncharted territory they had ventured into.

With a hesitant yet genuine smile, Scott finally spoke, "I don’t think I’m as straight as I thought."

Notes:

I know, I’ve been posting too much of these guys. I think I might be a bit addicted to them.

This is basically just me making my two dolls kiss

I might be losing my sanity to these two pathetic gay men. I should slow down on the writing of them (I very much will not because I have no self control).
