Chapter Text
Ragatha paced back and forth, looking worried. First it was Kaufmo, now Gangle? It was unheard of for two abstractions to occur, one right after another. She looked up for a moment. Jax and Caine were arguing, Zooble was attempting to calm Kinger, and Pomni was staring into the distance, seemingly lost in thought.
Ragatha sighed, pausing for a moment. Instead of resuming her cycle, she decided to check on Pomni. She walked over to her companion, putting her hand on her shoulder. Pomni looked up, a bit startled, before relaxing again.
"Oh- Hi, Ragatha.."
She mumbled, smiling slightly.
"Hey Pomni.. Are you alright.? You seem a bit stressed..."
Ragatha spoke in a comforting tone, her gaze soft and reassuring.
"Y-Yeah.. Just a bit worried.. There's a lot going on..."
"I know. I'm sorry that you had to experience this so early on.. Believe me, the circus is much better than this."
She kneeled down, looking her friend in the eyes. Jax and Caine were still shouting back and forth, progressively getting louder and more aggressive as time passed. Zooble seemed to have had enough of the arguing, as they yelled at them, sounding pissed.
"SHUT UP, YOU TWO! YOU'RE NOT HELPING!!"
They froze, falling silent as Zooble glared at them. Caine eventually spoke up, clearing his throat.
"Ahem- Sorry everyone. I may have gotten a bit carried away..."
The room was silent for about another minute, before Jax broke the silence, groaning and crossing his arms.
"I still don't understand how this happened. This has never happened before. Why now??"
He narrowed his eyes, and Kinger nodded slightly.
"I agree.. I've been here a while, and nothing like this has ever happened..."
He said, sounding nervous, as his hands began to shake slightly. Everyone turned to look at Caine, who seemed to be growing a bit concerned.
"Now, now.. Let's not point fingers just yet! I'm sure this was all just a mere coincidence. Besides, it's not like anyone has control of the abstractions!"
He glanced around at the others, as they seemed unconvinced.
"Whatever.. I'm going back to my room."
Zooble said, walking off with their antennae twitching in annoyance. Jax nodded.
"Me too."
He headed in the direction of his room as well, while Kinger hurried back into the safety of his pillow fort. Pomni also left, wandering off to who-knows-where, which left Ragatha and Caine alone in the main area. She looked up at Caine, frowning.
"I hope you figure this out, Caine.."
She sighed, as Caine vanished into a cloud of smoke.
