Work Text:

Furina hated mornings. A whole lot.

It's just not for her, if you ask. Just imagine waking up so early without even taking a moment to process anything, then having to get up from your comfortable bed just so you can brush yourself and get yourself ready for an extremely boring day that's probably going to take a major percentage of your sanity, which for her starts at fifty percent every day by the way. Just thinking about it makes her exhausted already, wanting nothing more than to go back to her slumber.

In the past, Furina used to get up at the crack of dawn, having woken up by her maids in the Palais Mermonia every single day for the last hundreds of years. She used to take walks outside, take time to read, enjoy her morning tea before starting her day. But lately… her sleep schedules have been messy, going to bed late and waking up just before noon. She had stopped doing some of the things she loved for so long, so she'd just roll around in bed till lunch.

But hey, she's not even the Hydro Archon anymore. Nobody would care if she appeared in public with unbrushed hair and baggy eyes, right...?

“Rise and shine!” a loud and bright voice that she knew all too well was what greeted her first thing in the morning, followed by the opening of the curtains, which made her eyes hurt.

Ugh… help…

Furina groans, turning to the side of the bed where the sun can’t blind her eyes. “Five more minutes…”

A chuckle was heard from behind which seemed to be approaching closer until that person got on the bed, pulling the blankets away from her. “Five more minutes, or… five more hours, I wonder?”

The former Hydro Archon turns to him with a slight pout.

“Don’t give me that look. It’s time to get up.” Ba- Venti (god, when will she get used to that name?) sets aside the covers.

“Give me that backkkk…” Furina whines sleepily, trying to pull the blankets back from him. Celestia, her bed’s so comfortable right now.

“Breakfast is getting cold, you know.” Venti takes it away again, this time not letting her get it back.

“Who cares…” Furina buries her head in her pillow, but no matter what she does the soft blanket doesn’t come back to her. “It’s not like your food’s good anyway.”

She didn’t mean that. After all, Venti’s the chef between them, but sleep is important right now! He’ll forgive her, probably.

“Oh, is that so?” Venti asks flatly. Furina feels him move closer.

“Hrmph,” she hums, but not moving an inch from her pillow. “You’re a terrible cook.”

“Alright then, let me give you something delicious right now.”

Before Furina could respond to that, soft lips were pressed against hers.

It took Furina a bit to process, her morning fog quickly gone.

The kiss, though unexpected, was rather pleasant. She wraps her arms around Venti, squeezing him closer with her new found energy. Perhaps this is one of the things she liked during mornings. If this is what he was serving her, Furina would most likely welcome this kind of breakfast every waking day.

The kiss was slow and soft, accompanied by gentle touches from both of them, and it was enough to wake Furina up completely.

“If this how you served breakfast every morning, I should wake up extra early.” Furina whispers when they break apart, looking into his eyes.

“Really now?” Venti chuckles.

“Wake me up with that more often, why don’t you?” Furina says seriously, no hint of joke in her tone of voice.

“Demanding.”

“Oh, shut up.” Furina scolds lightly, pulling him and herself into the bed and snuggling close to him.

“When are you planning to have breakfast?” Venti asks, wrapping his arms around her.

“In a bit.” Furina mutters, enjoying their close contact, “I’ve got more important things to do first.”

“Like what?” Venti raises a brow.

“Cuddles.” she replies, kissing his cheek and pressing her body against his. She smiles against him, burying her face onto his chest, content to keep this going as long as Venti allowed it. “I need a hundred hours of cuddling first, then I’m gonna get up and have breakfast with you.”

A gentle laugh, then a hand strokes her hair, “That’s a lot. You sure you won’t get bored of it?”

“Don’t doubt me.” her arms wrap around Venti’s neck, and she brings his face to hers, kissing him lovingly, to which Venti returns the affectionate gesture.

They totally forgot about breakfast, but who cares?

This is better than that anyway.

“Let’s watch this.” Furina shoves the VHS tape onto Venti’s face, her eyes passionately sparkling.

She had been dying to watch the opera adaptation of one of her favorite novels, and just earlier when she was out shopping for macaroni, she stumbled upon it for sale and the lady selling it even kindly gave it to her for free! Guess the heavenly principles aren’t all that bad after all.

“Oh? Isn’t this the famous novel that’s been adapted to a film which has been going around lately?” Venti asks, taking the tape and observing it.

“It’s not just any ordinary adaptation, this is one of the best adaptations.” Furina’s eyes are practically shining as she looks at the tape.

“Well, if you’re that excited about it, then I’m also excited to watch it with you.” Venti smiles brightly, which fuels Furina’s excitement.

She immediately grabbed Venti and sat him on the couch while eargerly preparing the blankets and the snacks.

“Should I hel-”

“Stay there and don’t move!”

“Ah, alright…”

Furina hums happily, getting everything set up for what she’s sure is going to be a wonderful experience. Popcorn, her favorite blanket, a big cushion for added comfort, everything set up just for them.

“Alrighty, we’re ready!” she declares, turning on the TV along with the tape and then sitting down next to Venti to watch. The moment the film starts, Furina doesn’t miss a single detail, taking everything in carefully so she won’t miss any significant parts. As a fan of the book, she has to make sure she watches every last bit of it.

The film starts out slow at first, the dialogue between the characters casual at best, but with Furina watching, the most innocent of lines carry an abundance of passion. Every word that’s uttered holds deeper meaning to her. She knows every part like the back of her hand, but she still wants to watch it just like the first time she read each sentence.

“I hope none of the parts in the book were skipped. I’m gonna be so mad,” Furina comments as the film progresses. The novel was perfect, she thought it couldn’t get any better if it tried. So the film has to match that level.

Despite her intense focus on the film, Furina still manages to steal some glances at Venti every now and then. She likes seeing the different expressions he makes whenever something cool happens on screen, and she’s pretty sure he’s enjoying himself too. That’s all she needs.

So far, so good.

As the film went on, Furina begins to notice some differences between the adaptation and the novel itself. The characters may be mostly the same, but it seems like the film decided to take its own path and divert from the original story. She wonders if there would be more differences in the remaining acts or if the film would just stick to the original story, and all she can do is watch and find out.

“Hey, look! It’s my favorite part!” Furina gasps, shaking Venti’s shoulder with her hand. It was one of the most dramatic scenes in the book, and she remembers repeating that scene over and over in her head even after reading it countless of times now.

“They really did a good job with the film adaptation,” Venti muses.

“You bet they did. I’m going to refund it so hard.” Furina huffs, even though she didn’t exactly pay for it- but hey, that’s not the point!

Venti laughs lightly, pulling her closer to him while they watch the film.

“This actor playing the male lead is so handsome though… he captures the character perfectly.” Furina whispers, admiring the male lead of the film. She can’t stop gushing about how good he looks and how he’s nailing the character of the male lead. No wonder it’s a popular adaptation.

“More handsome than me?” Venti raises his eyebrows.

“Well, no,” Furina grins and pokes Venti’s cheek playfully, “But I highly doubt you can pull off a sexy look like him. You don’t have that raw charisma or those dreamy eyes.”

She earns an offended look from him.

“You got nothing to worry about!” Furina quickly tries to reassure, but still continues on with her rambling, “But seriously this guy’s just so hot! You can really see how much chemistry he has with the female lead, so cute…”

She trails her words for a while, her eyes glued to the male lead who was acting alongside the girl playing the female lead. Her eyes couldn’t leave the guy off the screen, her mouth almost drooling over at how attractive he is. She definitely needs to get his autograph once a fan meeting is announced.

“Well, he might handsome,” Venti starts, turning her chin to him, “But I doubt he can do better at this.”

As Furina was about to ask what he meant by that, Venti closes the distance between them.

The kiss surprises Furina for a split second, but she immediately melts the instant her lips are joined with Venti’s. Furina had completely forgotten about the film as Venti completely steals her attention away. It’s just their lips touching together, but the sensation itself is one that has her shivering. She places her hands on Venti’s cheek as she returns the kiss, wanting more of him, wanting to be closer to him.

“So? Can he do what I did?” Venti asks quietly against her lips. “I can always do more if you still think I can’t beat him.”

Furina’s lips curl up slightly as he speaks, her smirk becoming more evident. “Well you should prove it, then. Right now, please.” she whispers, biting her lip while pulling him closer to her. Her hands are on his chest.

And just like that, the two were making out, having completely forgotten the film.

Furina gives in to this, letting Venti take lead. Her tongue presses against his, her hands moving all over his body, not letting him go. She feels like a teen, kissing him like there’s no tomorrow.

She honestly can’t believe how jealous Venti can get, but if this is how it ends up every time, she might just make him jealous more often.

It’s not like a little jealousy would hurt, right? After all, Venti being a little possessive of her isn’t bad at all, and it feels nice to be chased and admired. It makes her feel wanted and desired, and the thought is enough to bring giddiness to her every now and then.

Venti won’t mind that for sure.

Also… what was the film they were watching again?

______________________

Tonight was definitely… exhausting. And fun.

Furina lays on her side on the bed, her back pressed against Venti’s bare chest. She can’t honestly quite remember where their clothes had gone, but that doesn’t really matter. She was too tired to think of anything else other than the warmth Venti brought to her while he had his arm wrapped around her waist, both of them too numb to even move, especially Furina.

It was just supposed to be one round, but, well, they weren’t both exactly known for keeping their words. Once they get going, they can’t help but to keep going.

That is, to say…

“I think you destroyed my legs,” Furina grumbles.

“...too much?” Venti chuckles. The sound of his breathing so close to her makes her want to go at it again, but she doubts she can handle any more.

“Too much,” Furina replies, her voice a bit weak. “How can someone have so much energy? I’m so sore right now… how are you not?”

“I’m sorry.” Venti sighs, but it doesn’t even sound he’s apologetic at all- more like smug. This jerk.

As if to make up for his roughness earlier, Venti started pressing kisses on her shoulder, her neck, and her back.

Furina shudders, her body trembling, wanting him to keep going. She enjoys every moment of it, the feel of his warm breath against her skin sending shivers down her spine. And the kisses, no matter where Venti kisses her, sends a jolt of pure pleasure through Furina, like she can’t get enough of it. If he keeps this up, then… Furina might not be able to help herself. But she loves it.

She lets out a little moan, squirming under Venti’s touch. God, he’s so good at this.

“I promise not to be rough next time… probably.” the god says, kissing the back of her neck. She hopes he won’t leave any more hickeys on her body, since she’s already running out of concealer.

“Probably, huh...?” her voice is breathless, the sensation his lips leave making her feel too good for her to think about anything else.

“Hm? You don’t believe me?”

“Not one bit.” she replies, biting her lip to keep from being too loud. She turns her neck slightly, allowing Venti’s lips to brush against her collarbone, “Just promise me you won’t leave any more hickeys on me this time though.”

“Hm… alright.” Venti’s voice was sweet and tender, “I can just leave more next time.”

“You jerk.”

“You love me.”

“Hmph.”

Venti presses his lips to her head, “You’re so beautiful. I love you.”

Furina doesn’t reply to that. Instead, she turns around on the bed pulls Venti closer to herself, burying her head into his chest, just wanting to be close to him and hear his heart beat. She closes her eyes and relaxes, wanting to feel just a little bit more comfortable with him. It’s been a long day, and she can use a little more rest without them doing anything but cuddling, the feeling of Venti’s warm body covering hers and hugging her firmly and intimately comforting.

“What made you love me?” Furina asks, her voice barely audible, but somehow enough for Venti to hear it.

“Everything.” Venti answers, a small smile on his lips. “Just everything.”

She could feel her cheeks burning up and flaring red at his reply.

“What if I turn out not to be the one you’re looking for?” Furina mutters.

“You’ll always be the one I’m looking for. In every crowd, in every universe, in every waking hour.”

“Well… what’s something you don’t like about me?” the questions start coming out now as she feels more at ease with Venti and doesn’t mind asking questions about anything. “Surely, you must have a few things you find annoying about me, right?”

“Sorry, I love everything you do.” Venti laughs a bit, “You can shoot a gun at me and I’ll tell Celestia how amazing it felt to be killed by you.”

“Wow, seriously?”

“Seriously.”

“You’re stupid.”

“Stupidly in love with you.”

“Archons, you’re such a moron…” she mumbles to him, feeling oddly giddy at his lovey-dovey replies. She’s never expected him to be so romantic or to love her this much. It’s ridiculous, but she absolutely loves this part of him.

“I’m your moron,” Venti hums.

“Yeah, you’re my moron.” she replies softly.

Soon, the two began to doze off in each other’s embrace.

The next morning, Furina ended up getting carried by Venti all around the house.

______________________

“Merry Christmas!” Navia greets Furina happily while holding her hot mug of chocolate.

Just a few weeks before christmas, the group had suggested holding a party for everyone, with the location being in her apartment. Of course, while Furina wasn’t entirely sure by the idea since her home isn’t exactly party-friendly and is a messy, she eventually had to agree since every place is practically booked by now. Well, anyways, all turned out great in the end anyway since some of her friends helped her decorate the place.

“Merry Christmas!” Furina greets back merrily, her eyes landing on the sweater Navia was wearing, “Hm? Did you just buy a new sweater recently?”

“Oh, no. Clorinde gave it to me. She said she knitted it by herself! Isn’t it cute?” Navia asks excitedly. Huh, who would’ve thought?

“Huh, so your girlfriend knitted it for you, huh?” Furina smirks, wiggling her eyebrows.

Navia flushes. “Hey now, we’re just friends. Friends gift each other like this all the time!”

“Well, I think it’s safe to say your ‘friend’ has a thing for you then, since she made this specifically for you and didn’t bother giving anyone else a present.” she says smugly. She has no intention of leaving Navia alone in this situation, so she continues to tease her even further.

“Keep talking! Besides, you get gifted by Venti like every year. You don’t need Clorinde’s present.” Navia frowns.

“That’s different since we’re dating. It’s clear why he’s gifting me.” Furina closes one eye, crossing her arms. “Oh, and also, he gifts me presents even before we started dating. If I were you, I wouldn’t be so oblivious about it.”

“I-I’m not being oblivious.” Navia sputters, “It’s just… unbelievable. Clorinde’s not the type of person up for romance.”

“Hah,” Furina couldn’t help but cackle at that. “Sure you aren’t being oblivious. You just don’t see it, but clearly, she does. Cuddles, kisses, gifts- I would say that’s pretty intimate. I think she might even be head over heels for you. It’s only a matter of time before she fully confesses.”

“It was a kiss on the cheek! You know! As a way of greeting!” Navia stammers, “And she cuddles me because… because I’m sad sometimes! Gifts between friends are normal!”

Furina snorts at that, amused at the way Navia tries to justify everything. “Oh, yes. I forgot people just kiss between friends.” she says sarcastically. “And I forgot that it’s normal for someone to keep kissing you and hugging you on a regular basis just because you’re sad sometimes. If we go by that logic, then I supposed that Venti and I are friends, huh?”

“You’re acting like you weren’t being clingy to Venti before you two even got together,” Navia rolls his eyes, but then her eyes widened at her own words, the realization dawning on her.

Furina chuckles gently at her realization, smirking slightly as she watches Navia’s expression change from one of irritation to disbelief. She’s starting to put two and two together, and it’s kind of funny how she didn’t even realize it.

“That’s right,” she replies, a playful tone in her voice. “Maybe you should take some notes from me then. Who knows, maybe Clorinde will take you more seriously?”

“Touche.” Navia sighs, and Furina smiles at her victory. “I can’t believe it.”

“I can.” Furina hums.

“Okay, it’s settled.” Navia suddenly sounded determined, “I’m going to confess later.”

“Huh? A-Already? After that realization?” Furina blinks in surprise. She knows Navia’s straightforward, but damn.

“Better late than never.” Navia winks.

Wow. This girl is something else.

“Ah, I have to meet with the others now! Also,” Navia pulls out a mistletoe from behind her back. “Tada!”

Furina stares at the mistletoe for a second before letting out a low whistle.

“Wow, that was kind of unexpected.” she says, her voice sounding a bit amused. “Who are you planning to use this with? Me?”

“Well, technically, it’s for everyone.” Navia shrugs, before handing it to Furina and giving her a simple kiss on the cheek, “You can have it. You know, to use on a certain someone.”

“Hm? Oh?” a sly smile spreads over her face as she takes the mistletoe. She stares at it for a moment before looking back at Navia and nodding. “Thanks, Navia.”

“Hehe, see you later then!” Navia waves at her before running off to god knows where.

“Good luck!” she waves back, watching as the girl ran off.

She honestly had no idea why Navia would bother to give her the mistletoe, but she isn’t about to waste that opportunity. Not knowing where exactly Venti is at the moment, she decided to look for him instead, her mind already imagining different types of scenarios.

Except, she can’t find him anywhere.

She’s looked everywhere, the living room, the bedrooms, the kitchen, the bathroom... but Venti is still nowhere to be found. She looks up and down the hallway, seeing if there’s anyone who could possibly point her in the right direction but it looks like it’s just her. She continues to look around for Venti for what seems like forever, still coming up empty-handed. There were only so many places she could think of where his existence might be, but none of them had any results.

A slight twinge of doubt crosses her mind, but she eventually shakes it off.

Maybe he’s just off doing his own thing, or he’s somewhere in the crowd she just couldn’t find yet. She wasn’t entirely sure, but she decided to keep looking still.

Just then, a completely morbid thought came into her mind.

Furina violently shakes her head.

No! Get a grip, Furina! You’ve been together for hundreds of years!

She snaps out of it the instant those thoughts entered her mind. Furina quickly dismisses them, not wanting to worry herself with silly things like that. After all, what are the chances? Nothing!

Just calm down.

“Furina?” a familiar voice came from behind her, and when Furina turns around, she sees a tall figure… which turned out to be Neuvillette.

Ah, it’s just him.

...wait, she’s holding a mistletoe. In front of him.

She tries her best to hide the mistletoe behind her back, not wanting to make it obvious to Neuvillette that she was going to use it on Venti later.

“...I do not plan on asking why you have such a thing, Miss Furina.” Neuvillette states.

“Um… yeah, um-” she stumbles on her words, feeling slightly flustered as Neuvillette stares her down. It doesn’t help that he was so tall and imposing, which just adds to her nerves. “I’m just keeping it for a friend. That’s all!”

“So I see.”

Furina quickly changes the subject, “S-Say, Neuvillette! Have you seen Venti?’

Neuvillette’s eye twitches upon hearing the name. Even after years, he’s still not too fond of him.

“I’m afraid I haven’t seen the bard anywhere.” Neuvillette shakes his head, “Is he not with you? It’s rare not to see you two together.”

“Ah, well… not today, unfortunately.” Furina laughs nervously.

Neuvillette observes her for a moment before speaking. “I may not be able to track him down, but one thing is certain.”

“And… that is?”

“He will always come back to you.” Neuvillette says, catching Furina off-guard.

Neuvillette has never liked Venti. Way before they were dating, he kept on warning her about trying not to get close to him for her own safety. And even after they were dating, Neuvillette couldn’t still stop that overprotectiveness of his.

Furina stares at Neuvillette for a few seconds, finding his words to be quite strange. He usually never had anything good to say about Venti, and yet here he is... speaking kind words about him, of all people? She wonders if she should ask him about it, but she decides to just let it be. Perhaps Neuvillette saw something in him that she can’t seem to see, or maybe he still doesn’t trust Venti like she trusts him and is just trying to be nice. Either way, she wasn’t going to question it.

“In the beginning, I was skeptical of him. I still am. After all… celestial beings are my supposed enemy.” Neuvillette starts to say, “I did not like how at times he came out as playful to you, giving me the impression that he’s a flirt and doesn’t seem to take relationships seriously.”

She understands where Neuvillette’s concerns were coming from, and although she knew for sure that Venti did take his relationship with her seriously, she could see where he was coming from.

Venti does have a flirtatious nature, even back when they were friends. He can be quite playful as well. But at this point in time, he had definitely matured far more than before, and now with all these years she had spent with him, she couldn’t imagine a life without them being together.

“However,” Neuvillette continues, “I saw how happy he made you. Perhaps, even happier than I could imagine. I have never seen you smile like the way you do with him. I have never, in my life, seen you laugh as much as you did with him. Your person. And that made me realize… I cannot take him away from you. Your own happiness.”

She’s left speechless for a bit, never expecting for Neuvillette to say such things. There wasn’t even a hint of his usual snarky tone as before. His speech actually made her start to feel warm inside.

“...do you really mean that?” Furina mutters, uncertain.

“I know I may not sound like it, but I have seen the way he treats you, even after all these years. Even after knowing you as a whole.” Neuvillette turns to her with a smile, “I truly am happy for you, Lady Furina.”

Neuvillette rarely says things like this to her, and hearing him say these things with such sincerity is unexpected. She’s not used to it, but it’s nice in its own way.

“Thank you, Neuvillette,” she says gently. Never in a million years had she expected for a moment like this to happen between them, but can’t find herself complaining.

“I must go now. The others are mostly likely looking for me and I have taken up all your time already when you’re supposed to be looking for your significant other.” Neuvillette walks over to her, before pressing a kiss to her head. “Merry Christmas, Lady Furina.”

Her eyes widen in surprise, but she only manages to squeak out a “Merry Christmas to you too,” before he was already moving away from her.

She turns on her heel and started to look for Venti again.

But unfortunately, she couldn’t find him anywhere the whole day. Also, why on earth are there two people making out in the storage room?

As it came to be nighttime, she was starting to lose hope that she would be able to find him. Eventually, she stops trying and just spent her time chatting with her friends instead. It’s a shame- she was looking forward to using the mistletoe on him. But as her night came to an end, she decides to make the best of it and enjoy her time with the others instead, but can’t help but worry about Venti.

Even as the party comes to an end, there were still no signs of him. Furina was becoming dejected.

Great. So he ditched me.

Furina stares at the mistletoe she still holds in her hands, unsure of what else she should do with it. She’s been looking around for Venti ever since the party started, and instead of using the mistletoe on him, all her friends were the one she received a kiss from instead. Ugh.

Sighing, Furina threw the mistletoe away and just went to her room.

She decides to get herself ready for bed, brushing her teeth and changing into her bedsheet before closing the door behind her. She lays back on the bed and gazes at the ceiling, letting out a tired sigh as feelings of disappointment and frustration wash over her.

He isn’t even here with me right now.

Suddenly, all those horrible thoughts came crashing back to her mind. At this point, they all might be true.

Did he really… cheat on me…?

Supposedly, she wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. She was not the perfect girl that someone would want in a relationship with anyway. It’s better this way.

Still-

The bedroom door suddenly slams open, revealing an extremely exhausted looking Venti, who seems to be panting, with a bouquet of flowers, a box of cake, and a bunch of presents in hand.

Furina jumps up on the bed, stunned into silence as she sees him barge into her room. All those negative thoughts instantly go away as soon as she lays her eyes on him. Her eyes widened the moment she sees her lover in such a terrible state.

She rushes out of bed to go over to him, steadying him as he looks like he’s about to fall down. “Venti! Are you okay? Dear celestia, what happened to you?”

“That… doesn’t matter right now…” Venti replies as he breathes heavily. She notices that he was sweating a bit. Did he just run?!

“What are you-”

“Forgive me for being late…” Venti says softly before giving her all the things in his hand. “The lines were extremely long today.”

Her eyes grow wide once again as she takes all the things he was holding, her tone slightly softening after seeing the gifts in her hands. It appears that he was simply late and that there was nothing truly wrong with him after all. She sighs, feeling her heart rate return to normal as she sets down the things in her hands. She notices that Venti’s hiding her other hand, but didn’t comment on it.

“Archons, Venti, I was so worried about you.” Furina sighs as she led Venti to the bed, both of them sitting on it.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t expect to take so long.” Venti genuinely sounded apologetic.

She lets out a low chuckle as she pulls Venti close and wraps her arms around him. The feelings of worry and frustration dissolve away, leaving nothing but warmth in her heart once they were in each other’s arms. “It’s fine, you don’t need to apologize. Just please don’t do that again. I almost thought you left me or something.”

“I’d rather get hit by Morax’s meteor than leave you.”

“Well, I’d rather you not get hit by Morax's meteor either.” she leans her head on his shoulder.

“Mhm…” Venti hums for a moment before speaking, “I ran into Navia earlier while going home. She gave me a little something.”

Her head lifts immediately as she hears the name Navia, her ears perking up when she hears Venti mention her. “Really? What did she give you?”

“This.” Venti lifts a mistletoe up between them with a smile.

Her eyes widen once again, and she blushes heavily upon seeing the mistletoke in his hands. Her cheeks burn from the blush, a soft giggle escaping from between her lips as she looks at him. “You got that from her?”

She wanted to use the mistletoe she had earlier to surprise Venti with it, but damn did he beat her to it.

“Shall we?” Venti asks teasingly.

Her heart skips a beat at the implication of his words. Despite how many times they’ve been in this situation, she still can’t help but feel shy and excited every time Venti makes a move on her.

“Yes we shall.” she whispers, her voice barely above a whisper as she leans forward to share a kiss with him under the mistletoe.

This time, she doesn’t mind taking it slow now that Venti has given her his mistletoe. Her arms wrap around his neck as her soft lips press against his, feeling the warmth of each other’s body and the softness of each other’s skin. She loved Venti’s kisses, Venti’s touch, everything he does to her makes her crave him even more, but right now, she’s just contented to have him here, an important part of her life since day one.

When they pull away, they stare into each other’s eyes with a lovestruck gaze.

She had already lost counts of how many christmas seasons they’ve celebrated together, but she’s more than glad to have him in each one, and many more to count.

“Merry Christmas, Furina.”

“Merry Christmas, Venti.”

Though, this one definitely is her favorite.

“Kiss me.”

The sudden demand makes Venti look up from the book he’s reading to her, blinking in surprise. “...on the cheek?”

Her expression grows into a slight pout as soon as he asks that. “Idiot! On the lips!”

“But I just kissed you a few seconds ago though.” Venti sounded a bit confused.

“Which was a few seconds ago! It’s been too long already!” Furina pouts even harder. There’s no way she was going to let this slide.

“Hm… okay, hold on, I’ll just finish this book.” Venti flips the page, which makes Furina sulk. She’s not going to let him continue reading that book- no, not until he gives her what she wants!

Her eyes narrow as she watches him try to continue reading the book, and for a moment, she feels as if she could just reach out and pull the book out of his hands. However, she refrains from doing so and tries to be patient with him, “You can finish your book later. I want to make out now.”

“Well, it’s already coming to an end so just… wait for a bit.” Venti flips the page to another as Furina’s patience grew thinner. She hates sharing Venti’s attention, and now her rival is a damn book? He’s cheating on her with a book now? Goodbye. How dare a book have his attention? She won’t have this!

She thinks for a few moments, before her eyes lit up, coming up with an idea.

Heh.

Slowly, Furina climbs onto Venti’s lap with a seductive look, her hands resting on his shoulder. “My lips feel so lonely without you, you know that?”

Venti meets her gaze for the first time as Furina successfully managed to steal his attention away from the book, “You’re so spoiled, you know that?”

“So spoil me more, why don’t you?” she asks, tone husky.

Without much hesitation, their lips locked in a passionate kiss.

This time, the kiss is much rougher and longer than before. Furina lets Venti’s tongue lap on her lips, giving it access to enter her mouth, and she’s unable to stop herself from a sudden moan. It had been quite a while since they shared a kiss like this, so the sudden intensity surprises her, but not enough to make her pull away. Instead, it fuels her hunger more. It becomes hot and steamy as they explore each other’s mouth, their tongues moving passionately as they lose themselves in the heat of the moment, the atmosphere around them changing to something else.

Their lips part for a moment but only to get back into it once again, getting wilder with each other as the moments pass.

She can feel herself growing flushed and warm, her breath starting to grow heavy and her mind slowly starting to drift. Furina wanting nothing more than to move even closer, wanting as much contact with him as she possibly could get in the moment.

When they finally break apart though, she wanted nothing more than to capture his lips again, but as much as she would like to get his lips again and continue where they left off, she knows it’s probably best to take a little break.

“Satisfied yet?” Venti asks breathily, and dear heavens, he looked so beautiful like this.

“Not even close.” Furina whispers, kissing him again.

They keep at it for a while, and Furina just couldn’t get tired of it. Instead of letting it end like the first time, she takes this moment to explore his mouth, her tongue darting out to play with his tongue. Their kissing grows more frantic and intense, their bodies beginning to become hotter again. The atmosphere between them becomes thick enough to make it almost difficult to hold off for too long.

As their tongues continue to swirl around each other, Furina can’t help but let out soft moans, her whole body starting to tremble from the intense sensations. She wanted to continue this for as long as possible, not wanting to let go of the feeling of his mouth pressed against hers. Gods, she’s so obsessed with him it’s not even funny anymore. But surely, he won’t mind, right?

The feeling of Venti’s hand slipping inside her shirt makes Furina lose her mind, craving more of his touch.

“It seems like you’re the one who’s not satisfied yet.” Furina smirks lightly when they pull apart from each other’s lips.

“Is my spoiled princess complaining already?” Venti asks with a smirk of his own.

“Only because my prince won’t speed things up and get to the main event already.” Furina says breathlessly.

“Apologies,” Venti chuckles, kissing her neck. “I just want to admire and savor this beautiful painting right in front of me, that’s all.”

Her body shivers at his touch, the teasing in his voice making her more excited. She feels his hands move down her body, tracing her curves with his fingers and caressing her skin, slowly taking in every inch of her. It made her body tremble uncontrollably, her voice shaking as she replies to him.

“Then savor every last inch of this portrait.”

“Mm, speaking of paintings… when we were out walking in the Fontaine’s plaza last time, you were looking over at a person who’s painting a couple who had just gotten engaged, weren’t you?”

At that, Furina blushes slightly and averts her gaze, suddenly feeling shy. “Y-Yeah. What about it?”

“Well, I was thinking about something these past few months…” Venti says carefully, watching her reaction to his words. “And… I want to hear your thoughts about something.”

“What is it?” she asks, growing anxious about where he’s going with the conversation. Her heart begins to race as she gazes at him, waiting for him to speak.

Venti gently lifts her hand up, and suddenly, she felt pure anemo energy gathering around her ring finger… and the next thing she knew, there was a ring on it, which looked similar to a wind symbol itself.

“I was wondering if…” Venti gulps, now his turn to sound anxious but he looks at her with all seriousness. “Can I marry you?”

Her face turns completely blank as she stares at the ring on her finger, the realization slowly setting in. She blinks several times, trying to process everything that is happening, and when she finally does, her heartbeat picks up immediately. The last thing she expected was for him to propose to her, yet at the same time, it made her ecstatic. She opens her mouth to speak but nothing comes out in the first attempt, her mind completely overwhelmed with the overwhelming feeling of joy.

“Are you kidding me...?” she finally asks, her voice shaky at how happy she feels.

“I know it’s not much, and I know you’d want a more expensive ring but-” Venti couldn’t even finish his sentence anymore because Furina shuts him up with a kiss.

She didn’t care if the ring was expensive or not, for there was nothing she wanted more than to marry him, which she makes clear with her actions. She kisses him deeply, wanting to enjoy the moment for as long as possible.

“I’d marry you even if you gave me a paper ring,” Furina says softly. “I love you so much. You have no idea how bewildered I am every day thinking why you chose to stay with me even though I have the worst personality ever.”

“And you have no idea how head over heels I am for you.” Venti laughs lightly.

She can hear the love in his voice, and it fills her with a sweet melancholy feeling. She pulls her face away once more and just smiles, her eyes filling with tears as she wraps her arms around his neck. “Then let’s get married and let the whole of Teyvat know how much we love each other.”

“Let’s.” Venti grins.

Furina kisses him once again.

And she’ll definitely kiss him a hundred times more.
