“Rei-chan!” Usagi yelled as she pulled the other girl into a hug. “I missed you so much.”
“I was just at school” she said before giving Usagi a quick kiss on the forehead.
“I knowww but I love you so much even a minute without you feels like an eternity.”
“I love you too bunhead.”
“You’re so mean Rei.” After a short pause she continued. “say Rei you’re free tonight right?”
“Yea why do you ask?”
“I was just wondering… do you want to go on a date? My treat.”
“I’d love to.”
“So how does 5:00 sound?”
“That wo-”
She was cut off by a loud beeping sound that was coming from usagi’s wrist
“AHH I’m so sorry Rei-chan,That's my alarm if I'm late My mom's going to kill me,meet you at the Hikawa shrine?”
“Yea see you later Usagi.”
Ikuko heard her daughter open the front door
“Hello Usagi.”
“Hi mom…I was wondering if I could go out with some of my friends today?”
“Sure as long as you got a good grade on your english test.” she fully expected her daughter to have gotten a horrible grade .
“Actually…” Usagi fumbled around in her bag for a while “tadaa” she pulled out her test that had 90 written in the corner
“Wow usagi, I'm impressed,sure you can go out. “
“Thanks mom.”
She dashed up the stairs thinking to herself ‘finally all those study sessions paid off and i get to have a night of just me and Rei’ finally making her way into her bedroom she noticed Luna laying down on her bed
“Oh good you’re already here, could you help me decide on an outfit?”
“Not now Usagi can’t you see I’m trying to take a nap?”
“Please? It won’t take long.”
Luna let out a long groan. “ fine.”
Usagi after rummaging around in her closet for a while decided on 2 outfits a set of jeans a green shirt and a blue jacket and a blue skirt matched with a blue cardigan
“Hmmmm the first one”
“Thanks Luna “she looked at the clock. The time was 4:40pm “AHHH I’M GOING TO BE LATE LUNA WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING?”
“How would I know what time you needed to leave?”
“Oh..right.”
Usagi quickly changed and started heading down making her way towards the front door until…
“Hold on Usagi i made some cookies take some to your friends.”she offered the small pink bag full of cookies to Usagi
“Thanks mom.” after taking the cookies she began running through street after street she finally made her way to the steps leading up the Hikawa shrine
Where Rei was waiting for her
“REI i’m so sorry i’m late but hey i brought cookies.”she held up the small pink bag
Rei was wearing a green jacket a black shirt and a pair of jeans
“It’s fine Usagi. Honestly, I was expecting you to be even more late” she teased “and besides how could i be mad at you when you brought cookies? Let me just put these awa-” she suddenly noticed she was at the bottom of the stairs and not the top “you know what i’ll just put it in my jacket so where we headed?”
“Oh right i forgot to mention where we were actually going” after letting out an awkward laugh she continued “there’s this local coffee shop that opened recently not too far from here.”
“Well then shall we leave my princess?”Rei offered her hand which Usagi quickly took
“Of course my love”
After a short walk in which they either talked about gossip they heard or argued about which loved the other more and occasionally snacked on some cookies
They finally reached their destination a decently sized coffee shop made mostly out of wood
“Wow Usagi this place is so nice.”
“Only the best for my girlfriend.”
After sitting down in an open table near a window with a gorgeous view of the Juban district they made some idle conversation for a while until a waiter came
“Hello may i take your orders?”
“Yea i’ll have a black coffee thanks.”
“And you?” the waiter asked Usagi.
“I’ll have a chocolate milkshake and a slice of cake.”
“Is that all?”
“Yes thank you.”
After the waiter left Usagi put her hand Rei’s and began slowly caressing it
“What are you thinking about?”asked Rei
“Just how this night is basically perfect as long as-” she was quickly cut off by a loud crash “THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN”
“Come on let’s go check it out”
As everyone else was making a mad dash towards the front door Usagi and Rei made their way towards the kitchen where the source of the loud noise was and as they suspected it was a monster
“Come on let’s transform.”
“Ok.”
“Moon crisis-”
“Mars crystal power-”
“Make up” they shouted in unison
They quickly ran inside the kitchen
“How dare you disturb a local business and ruin a date between 2 girls in the name of the moon. We will punish you.”
The cat like monster not caring about the speech Usagi had just given shouted “cats.” and dashed towards Usagi she prepared to defend herself before she was pushed out of the way by sailor mars who took the attack full force and was knocked back into a wall
“HOW DARE YOU? SILVER MOON CRYSTAL POWER KISS”usagi quickly launched a way stronger than usual attack destroying the monster instantly
“Sailor mars.” she quickly ran to where Rei was lying down on the ground and quickly cradled the other girl in her arms
“I’m fine usagi i’m fine”
“Don’t ever do that again, I was so worried.”
After Rei got her bearings they detransformed and left the coffee shop
“Want me to walk you home Rei?”
“I’d like that.”
After a short awkwardly silent walk they finally made it to the steps leading up the Hikawa shrine
Rei turned back to look at Usagi before going up the stairs and usagi looked to be on the verge of tears
“I’m so sorry Rei you must be so mad at me and I-”
Rei quickly hugged usagi
“I’m not mad it’s not your fault monster show up at the worst of times”
After letting go of usagi she was prepared to get back to the shrine before usagi pulled her back and gave her a hard kiss
“ I love you Rei.”
“I love you too usagi.”
