Tiny Eclipse

Summary:

Eclipse overused the star so much it tore him apart. Eclipse thought he would die but instead he woke up in a much smaller body. Now he’s so small he can’t use a charging port! With his battery rapidly draining he can only hope someone will find his space station and help him.

Chapter 1: Tiny troubles

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: Fuck it burns! It feels like every part of my body is being torn apart and melted at the same time! I can barely see with all these warning messages covering my vision. I tear open my chest plate and try to pull out the star. But I can’t. The star has melted the surrounding metal into itself. I keep pulling on it but that only makes the pain even worse. I try to let go of the star only to find out my hand has been welded to the star. It burns so much and it’s only getting hotter! I frantically try to pull my hand out of my chest. I was finally able to pull my hand free. Or so I thought. When I look down at where my hand should be all I see is a handless arm. How did I not hear it break off? Why can’t I hear anything?! I stand there staring at my handless arm. Oil rapidly spewing from where my hand used to be. I look down at my chest cavity, oil rapidly leaking from it. Then I start to see spark and . . . flames? FIRE! I’M ON FIRE! Then suddenly a loud explosion and my vision goes blank. Soon after so does my consciousness.

Moon’s pov: I lay on my bed trying to get some sleep when.

Computer: “Extreme power surge detected.”

Moon: “WHAT!”

I shoot up and out of bed. I run over to the computer.

Moon: “What kind of power surge and where!?”

Computer: “Scans suggest star power originating from the Sun’s surface.”

Moon: “The fucking surface of the sun!?”

Computer: “That’s what I said.”

Moon: “Scan for any structures or buildings.”

Computer: “Scanning . . . Structure found.”

Moon: “Prepare the portal! I need to get into that building!”

Computer: “Okay, but it may take a while. There is a Forcefield and signal blocker.

Eclipse’s pov: When I woke up I was extremely dizzy and nauseous.

Eclipse: “I don’t even have a stomach! Why do I feel like throwing up?! . . . Wait I’m alive?!”

Suddenly all the dizziness and nausea went away. I looked around and to my surprise I found out I am now about four inches tall. Then I remembered the burning, the pain, my insides melting, the oil spilling out of my body, and the explosion. I frantically look down at my completely undamaged body.

Eclipse: “What? I-I thought the star . . .”

I carefully opened my chest plate and saw . . .

Eclipse: “Wires?”

My insides look normal. No damage. No star. No melted metal. But most importantly no pain. I reattached my chest plate and took another look at my surroundings. That’s when I noticed the dried oil stains on the floor. I then noticed how destroyed this place looks. It looks like a bomb went off in here! . . . Oh yeah the star blew up. If the star blew up inside of me how am I still alive? Just then a warning flashed in my vision.

Eclipse: “Warning low battery.”

I need to charge. That’s when the fear set in. How am I going to charge?! I won’t fit in a charging station! I quickly stood up and started looking around the room. Maybe I can find something that I can use as a charger? Yeah it’s going to be okay! I just need to find something . . . I don’t know what but I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

Two hours later:

Eclipse: “I’m so screwed.”

My battery is only at seven percent. It’s getting hard to move. I don’t know what to do. If my battery dies I don’t think I’ll ever wake up again. As I sit on the ground my battery slowly draining I can’t help but feel scared. I don’t want to die. I hope someone would come here and help me. Who am I kidding no one would help me. Not after what I did to them. I’d be lucky if they even talked to me before crushing me under their feet. It would be so easy to kill me with how small I am. I check my battery. Three percent. I guess this is how I die.

Eclipse: “Bit pathetic isn’t it?”

Then suddenly I hear a noise from over by my teleport pad. And shortly after.

Moon: “What happened here?”

Chapter 2: A big problem

Summary:

Moon finds Eclipse.

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: Oh no. This is bad! Why Moon of all people?! I need to hide! I try to move but my battery is too low.

Eclipse: “ Fuck!”

Moon: “Eclipse?”

Moon calls my name as he walks over to me.

Moon: “Why are you so small?”

Eclipse: “I don’t know! The star blew me up!”

Moon: “If the star blew you up how are you still alive?”

Eclipse: “I don’t know! I just woke up like this!”

Moon’s pov: I was not expecting to find Eclipse so small. I then realize how funny Eclipse looks at this size and start laughing at him.

Eclipse: “IT’S NOT FUNNY! I can’t even use a charging port at this size!”

Moon: “It is funny to see the “powerful and cunning Eclipse” reduced to a mere four inches. I could easily crush you under my feet if I wanted to.”

Eclipse froze up after I said that last sentence.

Moon: “Why so nervous? Afraid I’ll actually crush you?”

Eclipse doesn’t answer me. Instead he just looks even more afraid than before. I reach down and pick up Eclipse. He keeps squirming and trying to get away from me.

Moon: “Stop squirming or I might drop you.”

Eclipse’s pov: I’m so fucked. Moon’s definitely going to kill me. I try to escape Moon’s grasp but a warning flashes in my vision. Battery less than one percent shutting down.

. . .

. . . .

. . . . .

Battery fully charged Eclipse AI powering on.

I woke up inside of a charging station. What? I thought I was too small to- That’s when I realized I’m inside of a four and a half inch tall charging station. I exited the charging station and looked around. I’m on top of a table in Moon’s room. How did I get here? I thought Moon would kill me. Why didn’t he after everything I did to them? I look over the edge of the table. I’m too high up to safely jump down. I guess I have no choice but to stay up here.

Chapter 3: One final chance

Summary:

Moon and Eclipse come to an agreement.

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: As I sit at the edge of the table I hear Moon’s voice at the other end of the tunnel leading into his room. Soon after Moon crawls through the tunnel into his room.

Moon: “You’re finally awake.”

He says as he walks up to the table. I stare at him and he stares back. A minute of awkward silence goes by before I say,

Eclipse: “Why didn’t you kill me?”

Moon: “Why would I? You aren’t a threat at your current size. Besides death is hardly a fitting punishment for what you did to everyone.”

Eclipse: “So then what are you going to do? Torture me?”

Moon: “No I’m going to take away what you value the most. I’m going to take away your control.”

Eclipse: “My control? What do you mean by that?”

Moon: “From now on you will be forced to do whatever me or anyone else says. And if you don’t we’ll force you. So that means mandatory therapy with Earth, no being rude to anyone, you will be forced to participate in family bonding days, etc.

I just glare at Moon with all the hatred I can muster up. This only amuses him.

Moon: “Hey, maybe if you be good I’ll make you a bigger body!”

I roll my eyes.

Moon: “I’m not just saying that to annoy you. I really will make you a bigger body if you be good. And maybe if you show me you can change for the better I’ll give you back your freedom. Deal?”

Moon puts out his finger for me to shake. I sigh and shake his finger.

Eclipse: “Fine it’s a deal. Not like I have much of a choice anyway.”

Chapter 4: Bob

Summary:

What’s that? A spider? I wonder if it’s friendly.

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: it’s been a week since I make that deal with Moon. I’ve asked him many times to take me off the table but he says no every time. That bastard is keeping me confined to this damn table! So today when he comes into his room I don’t even bother talking to him. I started pacing around the table trying to think of a way to get down without breaking my legs. As I’m pacing around the table I bump into something almost as big as me. I looked at what I bumped into. It’s a giant fucking tarantula! I stare in confusion for a couple of seconds before I start to question how it got into Moon’s room. I glance around the room. Moon’s still at his computer. I poke the spider. It stares at me and I stare back. I continue pacing around the table. The spider follows. I pace some more. The spider follows.”Well I suppose I’ve got nothing better to do.” I turn around and pat the spider’s head. It doesn’t seem to mind so I continue. Eventually it walks away and under the table. I lay down bored and stare at the ceiling for the next three hours.

Moon’s pov: I finish working on my computer and turn to see what Eclipse is doing.

Moon: “What are you doing?”

Eclipse ignores me and rolls over onto his stomach. I can only assume he found lying in that position to be uncomfortable because he immediately flips over onto his back and sighs dramatically.

Eclipse: “Did you know there’s a tarantula in your room?”

Moon: “Oh yeah that’s just Bob don’t mind him.”

Eclipse sits up and says

Eclipse: “Yeah I met him he’s nice. I’ll definitely spare him once I kill the rest of you.”

Moon: “You and him can rule the world together.”

I say mockingly. Eclipse glares at me which only makes me laugh.

Eclipse’s pov: I roll my eyes at his laughter and curse him under my breath.

Thats when I notice how low my battery is. So I stand up and plug myself into the charger Moon built. Then I power down because I don’t want to deal with Moon’s obnoxious smirk.

Chapter 5: Attempted escape

Summary:

Eclipse finds a way off the table a runs as far as he can.

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: It’s been three days since Moon last entered his room. It’s getting really boring in here. I was sitting at the edge of the table when I looked down. There was a blanket right under the table. My body moved faster than my brain could stop it. I landed on the blanket with a quiet thud. As I sat up a sharp pain shot through me but dissipated soon after.

Eclipse: “HAH! YES FINALLY!”

The Computer: “Contacting Moon”

Eclipse: “Fuck.”

I immediately stood up and ran for the tube. Luckily Moon’s stuff was conveniently placed under the tube. All I had to do was climb on it and pull myself up into the tunnel. I jumped into the main room and ran for the ladder.

Moon: “What are you doing? You’re not even big enough to climb up the ladder.”

Eclipse: “Fuck”

I glanced up at the top of the ladder. I guess I’m not escaping today. Moon climbs down the ladder.

Moon: “Where do you think you’re going. Even if you did get up here jumping into the ballpit would probably break your legs. It’s a long way down for someone as short as you.”

I didn’t think of that. He’s probably right it wouldn’t survive such a long drop.

Eclipse: “So what now.”

Moon bends down and picks me up.

Moon: “Now you go back on the table.”

Moon places me on the table where Bob is patiently waiting. Bob stares at me so I pat his head.

Eclipse: “At least you care about me.”

Moon flashes me a look I can’t identify in response. I spend the rest of the day playing with Bob.

Moon’s pov: Eclipse’s words echo in my head.

Eclipse: “At least you care about me.”

I don’t know why but it hurt to hear that. I don’t know why. I hate him. I know I do. But every time I look at him I’m reminded of how I hurt Sun. Left him to deal with my problems. As badly as I want to hate Eclipse I also can’t help but feel bad for him. I did abandon him. It’s not my fault the kill code evolved him into existence. It’s also not his fault it happened either. I know he can change. Become a better person. If I could so can he. Even if he doesn’t at least I can say I tried. I hope he does change. It would be nice to have another person to play video games with. And one less person trying to kill us.

Chapter 6: A sunny day

Summary:

Sun decides to visit Eclipse.

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: It’s another boring day. Or at least that’s what I thought it would be. I was sitting on the table when Sun entered Moon’s room.

Sun: “Oh he didn’t kill you?”

Eclipse: “I’m just as surprised as you are. What are you doing in here?”

Sun: “Just looking fo- HOLY SHIT WHY IS THERE A GIANT SPIDER IN HERE!”

Eclipse: “That’s just Bob. He’s pretty friendly.”

Sun: “You named it!”

Eclipse: “Yeah? Wait! Don’t tell me your afraid of spiders!?”

Sun: “I’m not! I just don’t like them!”

He’s totally afraid of spiders. I walk up to Bob and pat his head.

Eclipse: “How do you feel about that Bob. I bet it doesn’t feel good. To have someone afraid of you for no reason. He didn’t even do anything to you Sun.”

Bod wiggles his front legs at Sun in response.

Eclipse: “Yeah! You tell him Bob! . . . Okay maybe that’s a bit to much. Not even I would say that out loud.”

Sun : “What . . . What is he saying?”

Eclipse: “No idea but it looks really mean.”

Sun flashes an offended look at Bob.

Sun: “Wow! Bob how rude!”

I chuckle at Sun’s response which seems to amuse him. Sun sits on Moon’s bed.

Sun: “So . . . How are you?”

I pause at his question.

Eclipse: “Why do you want to know?”

Sun: “Well Moon said if your still alive by the time he left his room then he was going to give you a second chance. And you’re still alive so. . .”

I really don’t know what to say in response. . .

Eclipse: “I’m fine.”

I say as I sit down at the edge of the table. There’s an awkward silence between us for a while. Sun is the person one of the people I hurt the most and even he is willing to give me another chance. I guess I should at least try.

Eclipse: “How are you?”

Sun looks surprised that I even bothered to ask.

Sun: “I’m okay.”

Moon: “Sun are you in there?”

Moon crawls into his room.

Moon: “Oh there you are. What are you doing in here?”

Sun: “Just talking to Eclipse”

Moon: “Really? I can’t ever get him to talk to me.”

Eclipse: “That’s because I hate you.”

Moon: “Aww I hate you too!”

Eclipse: “Oh fuck off!”

Moon starts laughing. I can’t stand his voice. It’s so annoying. My annoyance only further amuses him. Sun and Moon start talking about something. I just tune out their voices and pet Bob.

Chapter 7: Earth day

Summary:

Earth and Eclipse finally meet.

I DO NOT SHIP ECLIPSE WITH EARTH OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS WITH ANYONE.

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: Moon is giving the computer an update today. It won’t be back online for a few hours. Moon left the room to play a game with Sun. Now is my chance to escape. I’ll come back eventually. The computer will come back online or Moon will enter his room to see I’m no longer on the table. It doesn’t matter how they find me. I should be able to get at least an hour of freedom. I jump down from the table onto the blanket I used in my last attempt. Another jolt of pain runs through me but I recover quickly. I shoot through the tunnel and rush down the ladder. Before I can contemplate how to safely jump into the ball-pit I hear a voice from behind me.

Earth: “Eclipse?”

I feel my whole body freeze up and an annoying tightness in my chest that I can’t make go away no matter how hard I try. I slowly turn around. I don’t know why but I feel relieved to see her.

Earth: “Where are you going?”

Eclipse: “I was going to go wander around the pizzaplex but I guess not. Just go call Moon so he can put me back on the table.”

Earth: “Have you been in Moon’s room since he brought you here?”

Eclipse: “Yeah.”

She picks me up looking concerned.

Earth: “I don’t think being stuck in a room for that long can be very good for your mental health.”

Eclipse: “Since when did you start caring?”

Earth: “I always have.”

Her words make me freeze before I can spout out an insult.

Earth: “I know Moon wouldn’t want you to leave on your own but if I go with you I think he would be okay with that.”

Eclipse: “What am I his dog!? I can’t leave on my own!?”

Earth: “Eclipse . . .”

Eclipse: “. . . Fine.”

Earth instantly lights up at my response.

Earth: “Great! Where do you want to go first!”

Eclipse: “I don’t care. Anywhere but here.”

Earth: “To the racetrack! HEY MOON! ME AND ECLIPSE ARE GOING TO THE RACETRACK!”

She jumps down into the ball pit and is already skipping towards the exit. Completely ignoring what Moon is trying to say.

Moon: “OKAY HAVE FUN! . . . WAIT WHA-

The door closes behind us. I can just barely make out Moon’s figure jumping into the ball-pit as we round the corner. His panicked expression makes me chuckle.

Earth: “Is he following us?”

Eclipse: “Yeah.”

Earth: “Then I better speed up before he finds us”

Earth slips into an empty room just as Moon rounds the corner. He walks right past the room we’re in. It takes everything in me to not laugh at him. Once he’s out of sight Earth dashes out of the room and towards the racetrack. I can’t hold in my laughter any longer. Earth laughs along with me. Once we arrive at the racetrack we immediately jump into a cart.

Earth: “How do we turn this on?”

Eclipse: “There’s a button on the side.”

Earth turns on the cart and we fly through the track. She swerves around the curve and I almost fly out the side of the cart. Thankfully she grabs me before I can hit the ground.

Earth: “I’m so sorry! Are you okay!?”

I grip her hand as hard as I can.

Eclipse: “SLOW DOWN BEFORE YOU TURN!”

The rest of the ride was pretty fun. Except for the three other times I almost flew out of the cart. We were laughing about Earth’s horrendous driving skills when Moon finally found us.

Moon: “There you are! What have you been doing!?”

Eclipse: “Can’t handle me hanging out with your dear sister?”

Moon: “It’s not her I’m worried about. We’re you two on the go-carts?”

Eclipse: “Yeah why?”

Moon: “Earth is really bad at driving.”

Eclipse: “Your telling me! She almost launched me off the cart four times!”

Moon: “I think it’s about time you two come back to the daycare.”

Eclipse: “Fine”

Earth returns me to the table. Her and Moon talk for a bit before she leaves.

Moon: “Did you have fun?”

Eclipse: “I guess.”

I say as I pet Bob who excitedly ran up to me the second he saw me.

Moon: “That’s good. Better than you hating everything.”

Moon looks genuinely happy as he continues to rant about stuff I don’t care to pay attention to. I don’t know what but I think something changed in me today. For the first time in a long time I don’t feel a burning rage when I think about him.

Chapter 8: Progress

Chapter Text

Sun’s pov: “Moon left the pizzaplex with Monty and asked me to make sure Eclipse doesn’t get into any trouble while he’s gone. I don’t really know what to do so I’m just sitting on his bed watching Eclipse . . . and Eclipse is just staring back at me. We’ve been staring at each other for a while and it’s starting to get really uncomfortable . . . I can’t stand this anymore!

Sun: “Why are you just staring at me!?”

Eclipse “Why are you staring at me?”

I sigh and a wide grin spreads across Eclipse’s face.

Sun: “You’re so annoying.”

Eclipse: “I’m glad you noticed.”

I quickly stand up and attempt to grad Eclipse but he’s faster than me. He scurries away before I can get a good grip on his leg and hides behind some of Moon’s stuff. I start to move aside some stuff but I can’t seem to find him.

Sun: “Where’d you go?”

I feel a jolt of pain shoot up my arm and look down at my hand. HE STUCK A FUCKING NEEDLE IN BETWEEN THE GAP IN MY FINGER!

Sun: “YOU ASSHOLE!”

I hear his cackling from behind some bottles. I swat them out of the way and grab him. He tries to bite me but it doesn’t hurt. I shake him until he stops. He grabs his face plate looks dizzy.

Eclipse: “Was that necessary?”

Sun: “Was it necessary to stab me with a needle?”

Eclipse: “. . . Fair enough. Can you put me down now?”

Sun: “No.”

I walk over to the tunnel and crawl through. I bring Eclipse into my room and put him on my desk. There’s no where for Eclipse to hide. My desk is completely spotless. He sits down looking annoyed. He glances around at my room.

Eclipse: “Cleaner than Moons.”

Sun: “Anything is cleaner than Moon’s room.”

Eclipse: “Your just a clean freak.”

He’s right I am.

Eclipse: “What do you even do in here?”

Sun: “Play games.”

I turn on my computer and open steam.

Sun: “Want to play something?”

Eclipse: “How? I’m like four inches tall?”

Right that might be a problem.

Sun: “Do you want to watch me play a game.”

Eclipse: “Only if it’s a horror game.”

Sun: “You just want to hear me scream.”

He smirks at my response.

Moon’s pov: I don’t get back to the pizzaplex until 8pm. Monty looks up at the balcony.

Monty: “So you really let him live? Even after he killed Lunar?”

Moon: “I . . . Want to give him a chance. Whether he takes that chance is up to him. If he doesn’t . . . He won’t be getting another.”

I can tell Monty doesn’t agree with my decision but he nods anyway. We say our goodbye’s and I return to my room to see nothing? Where’s Sun and Eclipse? I leave my room. I can hear voices coming from Sun’s room. I walk in and to my surprise see Sun and Eclipse getting along. Eclipse looks at me and . . . smiles? And not even a mocking one. A genuine smile.

Sun: “Hey Moon! How was your day?”

I stand here to stunned to speak until Sun looks over at me in confusion.

Sun: “Moon?”

Moon: “Oh-right! It was fine how was yours?”

Sun: “Pretty good just playing some games!”

Moon: “And you?”

I look over at Eclipse.

Eclipse: “Fine I guess.”

He turns his attention to Sun’s computer. I decide to sit on Sun’s bed and watch him play. I’m still caught up thinking about Eclipses smile. That’s probably the first time I’ve seen a genuine smile from him. He’s making progress.

Chapter 9: Trust

Chapter Text

Eclipse’s pov: I was laying on the table when Moon crawled into his room. He looked like he wanted to ask me something but wasn’t sure about it.

Eclipse: “What?”

Moon: “. . . If you were back to your original height what would you do?”

. . . The question hits me like a sack of bricks. I don’t even know how to answer that. Moon looks at me expectantly. What would I do?

Eclipse: “I don’t know.”

Moon: “Well we’re about to find out.”

Eclipse: “What?”

I look at Moon in confusion. He picks me up and carries me out of his room. He jumps into the ball pit.

Eclipse: “Where are we going?”

Moon: “You’ll see.”

I stare at Moon annoyed at his response but decide not to say anything else. Soon enough I realize where we’re going. Parts and services. The doors open and I see Sun standing to the side of the repair terminal. Inside is. . . me? Or at least a much taller version of me. No it’s normal sized. It just looked big cause I’m small. I look up at Moon confused. We enter the terminal and that’s when I realize what’s going on.

Eclipse: “Wait is this-“

Moon chuckles.

Moon: “I was wondering when you’d realize.”

I don’t even know what to say. Did he really make me a new body? Why? Cause I was “nice” for a few weeks?

Eclipse: “Why?”

Moon looks caught of guard with my question.

Moon: “We’re giving you a chance.”

Eclipse: “Shirley you’re not just going to give me a body just cause I’ve been “nice”.”

Moon: “Of course I’ve installed some safeguards. I’m not just going to let you run loose and do whatever you want! At least not yet. Not until we can fully trust you won’t try to kill us again. But this will do for now. You don’t still want to kill us do you?”

Eclipse: “No.”

Moon looks pleased at my response and hooks my head up to some wires.

Moon: “I’m going to need you to power down so I can transfer you.”

I nod and do as he asks.

Sun’s pov: Moon starts the transfer.

Moon: “It will take a few minutes for this to complete.

Sun: “Are you sure about this?”

Moon: “I think we should give him at least a little freedom. If he tries anything we can take it back.”

Sun: “I guess.”

While I’m not entirely comfortable with Eclipse having this much freedom so soon. I get why Moon’s doing this. We need to know if Eclipse being so nice is because he actually wants to change or just because he has to. Though I do hope he is being genuine. I wouldn’t mind gaining another brother.
