Work Text:
It’s not shocking that Hyung Seok can tell what Jae Yeol means or feels without having to hear anything. At least, not to him.
He sits down next to Jae Yeol during one of their breaks and pays attention to how his finger will pause on a word or so, how he’ll flip forward pages he doesn’t think would end up on the exam, how he’ll lean back into his signature position facing the window. Hyung Seok asks some questions, both to confirm he really does understand the text, and to see Jae Yeol move from the serene spot he always takes.
Hyung Seok pays attention to the quirk in his lips when he answers a question right, the shift in posture when he’s listening intently. He watches how Jae Yeol’s gaze would slide from the clock, down to the courtyard outside the window.
“Yeah, I’m super hungry too. Want to eat lunch with me this time?”, Hyung Seok says, tilting his head.
Jae Yeol turns to him, face lifting off his palm, pink lips parting in surprise. His stance is open, and Hyung Seok waits for the nod in agreement. Jae Yeol is looser after that, putting his head down on his arms for minutes at a time, smiling up at Hyung Seok softly.
He hums a wordless song and focuses back on the textbook, looking over at Jae Yeol every few minutes.
