Chapter Text
Tommy looks down at the ground below the tiny speck of grass and dirt beneath him barely visible from the top of his pillar. His clothes dripped with salt water as he teeters on the edge of a precipice, eyes glazed with a hundred yard stare; if you were to look into his gaze you'd swear he was seeing everything all at once or nothing at all. Whispers of his past rattle his mind ricocheting off the inside of his skull, tommy shuffles forward slightly his foot slipping on the edge of the cobble tower and bringing him back to reality. He jumps back “Jesus Christ! Shit, shit, shit.” The teen wraps his arms around himself like a hug, tattered wet t-shirt sticking to his skin. Carefully as not to fall and break his neck the tommy shuffles down the tower as if he were climbing a mighty oak and not contemplating his life. Firmly his feet connect with the ground he's shaking like a leaf, he looks at his scuffed palms and knees, the once bright boy that led with laughter and determination gone and replaced by a scared little boy, which he was. “Pull yourself together.” The hybrid mumbles to himself, as he tries to swallow down his feelings. And he was almost successful till the sound of boots crunching on fallen leaves hits his ear drum “he can't already be here can he? It's not even noon!” Tommy panicked as he heard the heavy footsteps of his abuser, he froze like a deer in headlights “Tommy!” A familiar voice called with a joyful tone that was far too fake for comfort. The teens head spins as he trys to calm down, he claws at his arms trying to ground himself, every thought in his head seems to scream “RUN.”
Tommy doesn't remember how he got into the arctic, but as his sneakers crunch in the snow and his teeth begin to chatter he wonders if he'll be blessed to die out here of hypothermia. Tall pines surrounded the teen like a shield, it was oddly calming how these being who had been around for hundreds of years so gently guarded him; Or at least it would be if he wasn't running for his life. Tommy's lungs burned from lack of oxygen, and his muscles aches with the need for rest. his mind screamed the same things over and over “RUNRUNRUNRUN”. “Oof-” Tommy hits the snow, falling on his ass. The hybrid looks up to find he's hit a fence, “what the hell?” upon closer inspection it seems he's stumbled into Techno and Phil's land. He rises from the ground brushing snow off himself and grumbling cusses at the fence, “I could hide here..” it wasn't a bad idea, the only problem would be executing it. still Shaky and pumped full of adrenaline, Tommy opens the gate and steps on to the property; this could go one of two ways, he could either die the bloodiest death he's had yet, or he could somehow obtain his family protection. The death part sadly was the more realistic outcome… but hey maybe it won't be too bad, after all, he wouldn't have to put up with dream or countries or worrying about getting killed anymore. Before he knew it Tommy had treked across the snowy field and climbed the porch steps. “I am not afraid of my family, I am not afraid of my family, I am not afraid of my family.” They teen whispered the mantra to himself like a prayer for deaf gods. Tommy had prayed many times before in attempts to receive aid but all was for not. As his fist made contact with spruce door his heart races waiting for techno to open the door and take his head off… but it didn't happen. “That's weird.” He mutters under his breath, he tried the handle and discovers the doors unlocked. Stepping inside he looks around the messy kitchen, “Hello?” Tommy call, his voice echoing through the home as he let himself in. Things were tossed about, opened, and candles still burned as if someone had left in a rush.
