Christmas was probably Jay's favourite time of the year. This was true during his childhood with his loving parents, and was especially true with his fellow ninjas.
His parents always apologised for not getting him very good gifts, the gifts being certain bits and bobs that were relatively hard to find, but Jay adored them. He liked to use the parts to build gifts for his parents, and now he was using parts to build gifts for his friends.
Living in a shared space made this difficult.
They were a nosy lot, and frequently visited eachothers rooms. So when Jay started to lock his bedroom door and spend more time in it, questions began to rise.
Nothing he couldn't handle, of course. The great Blue Ninja was capable of anything, despite what the others may have you believe.
On the subject of Christmas, it was only the 15th of December when the ninjas woke up to bright multicoloured lights strewn about the monastery.
"Good morning!" Zane greeted warmly, watching carefully for the expressions on the rest of the ninjas faces.
"Whats all this, Zane?" Nya asked, looking around.
"It's super cool!" Jay commented in awe.
Zane replied, "In 10 days, it will be Christmas. According to Ninjago Christmas traditions, it is common to decorate your home with festive lights."
"Oh yeah, it is Christmas soon, isn't it?" Cole tilted his head in mild disdain.
Kai noticed the tone Cole had in his voice, "Whats up?"
Cole shrugged and shook his head, brushing it off.
Zane took a bit to process if the response was positive or not, before Jay spoke, "Well I love it! Christmas is my favourite holiday! The gifts, the songs, the food!"
Lloyd finally spoke up, "Spending time with your friends and family?" He questioned with an expectant eyebrow raise.
"That too," Jay chuckled.
"The reason I have began setting up today, on the 15th, is so we may all have the time to find gifts for eachother," Zane explained, as mixed expressions swept across the group of ninjas.
"Oh god..gifts? For all of you?" Kai grimaced.
"Oo! Let's do a secret santa instead!" Jay suggested, much to the relief of everyone else.
Nya nodded in agreement, "A secret santa would be way easier."
As mentioned earlier, Jay had already been building gifts for all of the ninjas, so this may have been a bit redundant. But hey, why spoil the fun?
"A secret santa is randomly picking a person to give a gift to, correct?" Zane questioned.
Lloyd nodded, "That's right. And no one can know until the actual day where we give and unwrap the gifts."
Cole had been quiet for the conversation, lost in his own thoughts as Kai glanced his way ever so often to check on him. Maybe Cole didn't like Christmas all that much, but Kai wanted to know why.

Cole gifts Zane
Jay gifts Lloyd (but really he's gifting everyone)
Kai gifts Nya
Lloyd gifts Cole
Nya gifts Jay
And Zane gifts Kai.
Let the gift finding begin!
